so far

1)osipczak/couture par at roughly even money..

2)maia (sub)/couture (inside) par at 2-1(with a miranda hedge at +175)..

3)couture inside/oleinik(bellator)/maidana (boxing)...laying 1 to win 1.20

4)osipczak flat -150

5)penn/diaz/couture/lauzon par at 2-1(debating a small irish hand grenade hedge)......

*small throwaway on salter at +235

edit...adding kenflo/randy par... this is in florian`s backyard...maynard fights to decision most times...and anything short of a dominating win might just get shaded kenny`s way...maynard seems to have become over-enamored with his own striking game.....if takes that tack and allows kenny to keep distance,we`ll see something similar to penn/edgar I(only not nearly as close)...
....
maynard needs to live up to his nic`here and bully/steamroll florian...he has a substantial strength advantage....

i was surprised to see that maynard looked a little taller than florian...

hoping that maynard tries to box with florian...if he does,we`ll see something similar to penn/edgar I....

no large wagers, although couture shitting the bed would be disappointing....

i would load up on Coulture but that jab Coleman hurt him with just keeps sticking in my mind. The punch Lesnor hit him with that rocked him wasn't all that solid. The guys head is about as soft as Lidell's now adays. Speaking of Lidell if this was him fighting with Toney i think i would take Toney. A miss jab of Toneys might knock out Lidell.

i really like Mia as a fighter but he has that Gurgel syndrome and no way i think he is worth two to one odds. He stood and banged his last three fights.

I think if Toney catches him he would have to KO him cold to win. If he just drops him by the time he approaches him on his dead legs, Randy will compose himself and turn the situation in his favor. Toneys legs are dead for at least 5 years now.

osipczak is no sure thing...
he`s used to fighting in britain....and mass. is a lot closer to jersey than the u.k...

lots of folks like miranda here...opened at almost +300 from what i`ve read....

but he doesn`t use his height and reach much...he`s more of a grapple and clinch guy...so that means maia should get his hands on him....therefore giving maia his best chance to win...

still, looks to me like maia literally needs a sub to win here...

not much scuttlebutt on pierce and the newbie....

Well I wanted to get a play in on Randy but wasn't willing to risk -650 to win 100 even though I feel it is safe so I am gonna make a small play on this:

Randy Couture to win by submission +110 for 50 wins 55.

If or should I say when Randy takes him down then I would figure the first thing Randy is thinking is how to position him for a RNC or armbar.
I don't think Randy will be trying to ground and pound him knowing his submission defense should be down right pathetic.
I think the only thing that could beat Randy by submission is Randy by tko in a ground and pound.

OMG? You get those odds for him to win via sub? Guys, this is the easiest money. I think there is no doubt that he wins this via submission...my guess is a RNC, triangle, or arm bar...

if(when) couture takes him down,i`d be worried that he`ll want to punish toney some....

toney`s mouthed off quite a bit...and i`m thinking that once toney`s on his back,he ain`t gettin` up...

he might just get ground and pounded...

I agree 100% with this.

Odds have gone up a little.
Currently Couture by submission is -120.

Dana has ALWAYS said the sideshow stuff is not what the UFC is about.

He brings in Kimbo after he calls him a sideshow in Elite, he brings in Lesnar who lets face it after the Mir loss was quickly looked at as a sideshow, and now not only is Toney a sideshow but he is getting around $1M.

This is why people hate Dana.
This is not even an entertaining sideshow. I am looking forward to this fight the least tonight.

Super smart move by Dana.....brilliant. Toney talks a bunch of smack and begs to fight in UFC. Toney gets to fight in UFC. Dana makes a bunch of cash (PPV's will be over 700K easy).

Dana, super smart move....brilliant, just brilliant.

And kegray is full of shit if he says he isn't intrigued about the fight.

Also.....Dana has said himself that this fight is a "freakshow".

Also I have said this 100's of times, if you think Toney is the only guy making that kind of money you are on crack. The guys in the UFC are making way more then those "Salaries" that you see released after the fights.

And if you think Randy is making less then James then you are not only on crack, but PCP as well.

And kegray is full of shit if he says he isn't intrigued about the fight.

I lost a ton of interest the second I saw Toney yesterday.
Here are the facts:
1.Toney has zero MMA skills other than striking.
2. People are acting like Toney has some huge power. His power has been down right pathetic for years now.
3. He weighed in at 237 and if he trained and took it serious then he would have been at 220 and that is more than he should be.
4. He is flat broke and needs money and boxing wants nothing to do with him anymore.

I am more looking forward to EVERY fight on this card because all are MMA fighters and the winner is not predetermined.

Couture might have to follow a WWE type script for this one.
The only thing that holds my interest in this fight is my wager.
At least the Kimbo sideshow was legit as he proved he wants to learn and try to develop in the sport and he did.

Toney is here to get paid and move on PERIOD. This is Dream quality.

UFC 125 will be Canseco vs McGwire I if Dana makes money off this sideshow. Just give it time.

Also.....Dana has said himself that this fight is a "freakshow".

Dana said the UFC has too much talent and WOULD NEVER EVER SINK TO THIS LEVEL. He said we are serious about our product.

Well I guess that makes it ok then even though he said he would never need to do it because the UFC quality of fighters were more than enough to sell shows.

Also does it make it right if he doesn't deny saying he would make up for the Anderson Silva performance to the fans yet never did anything.

Guy talks out of his ass so much and expects people to forget most of the dumb crap he says.

Bring on Canseco v McGwire I. I would have more interst in that than Couture/Toney. At least that is two guys who have no real experience as opposed to a legend vs a non mma fat slob.

mma (particularly dana and couture) have an awful lot riding on this...

randy somehow loses and it honestly tarnishes his legacy big time........regardless how it happens...if fatass goes into the lions den and beats him at his own game, mma looks ridiculous...

won`t be any"he was 47" or other bullshit excuses....randy `s still very competitive.....he loses and mma gets a great big black eye....

toney has power..believe it....particularly with 4 oz gloves...and even as a fat old man,he`ll have a HUGE hand speed advantage for as long as his cardio hold out...

randy reverts back to his "chuck pt 2 & 3" mindset ,he`ll rightly deserve every iota of derision heaped upon him...

Well I think Chuck was a little more qualified in takedown defense than Toney.

I am sure Dana is 100% cheering for Randy and will be in a little fear until the takedown.
Toney will have the hand speed for sure but his power is solid but not Tyson like by any means which is kind of what it seems UFC is trying to sell the fans. Boxing Power vs mma.

Toney is done the second he hits the floor. As for his cardio, if this sees a 2nd round he will make Kimbo look like GSP.

yeah, but (particularly in pt II) randy chose to stand with chuck and tried to make a point...

well,he succeeded...just wasn`t the point he intended...

totally aggree with the cardio issue...randy just needs to fight to his strength(toney`s weakness).....it`s his fight to lose...

physically,he won`t lose...mentally?.....i`m praying he`s learned his lesson...
