HELL
Im an innocent bystander in all of this, rent every UFC, dabble with a few wagers, but a fan and box a little myself.

With that said, I was home sick as hell, rented this BS, and it made me more sick. The card was horrible, but again I am a fan watch all. The fights werent good, Dunham got fucked. Serra fight was ok, but the other 3 fights sucked big time. Guillard fought like he didn't want to take a chance, Bader-Little Nog fight wasn't good, and Cro Cop seriously needs to retire.

They all can't be good, I understand this, but I will rent them all, make a few wagers, and just enjoy the MMA fight styles. I am lucky I stayed awake to see Mir's knee to Cro Cop.

Bucs, is it safe to say you agree Mirko is done? Yes he used to be great but Gonzaga flipped his killer instinct switch. He will never do anything again and is only looking for paydays.

I am so glad I did not purchase this card. Unfortunately we will never get the chance to bet against Cro Cop again at 2-1.

If both these guys insist on continuing to fight, I would match up Cro Cop and Liddell, not that I want to see this but what is the UFC to do with these guys? They don't want to cut Liddell because of the history and if he insists on fighting then let him KO Cro Cop. They could put it on at any weight but why not just say HW or like 230 or something.

Pat Barry still frustrates me that he didnt KO Cro Cop. He is a far better striker than Mir.

i guess im saying that watching so many disappointing boxing cards in my time that watching this isn't as bad. I forgot the Nog Bader fight which also was pretty bad. Stevens fight wasn't terrible but it wasn't by any means good. that fight should ahve been fight of the night if Gullard wants to fight. then he gets the decison which makes it even worse. It was close but my goodness give a guy some points for chasing that asshole all night long. He played it so safe that if i was Dana i would put him in with a killer next which would be Dunham. that is how u teach these guys who want to run all night a little lesson. I thought i was watching a Mayweather snore fest.

I really think what flipped Crocop's killer instict is the lack of steroids. Two things that make me believe it are lack of agression and the size of his legs. They're not even close to being as big as they use to be.

In Bucs defense he always defends the cards if they are somewhat slow. This is a rare instance he agreed with most on how lame the fights were.

As for the if the last two were the first two comment, much more is expected from the last two so that has to be pointed out. Also the Stephens fight wasn't as thrilling as some make it out to have been.

Lets just all agree to blame Dana and move on. :142smilie

What do u expect every fight on the card to be terrific? The problem is guys like u rememeber the last two fights so this makes the card terrible because this is the last two visions u had.. Now if those last two were the first two and the first three were the last three we wouldn't even be talking about this u grouchy prick. :142smilie

Ummm, no I don't. But I don't expect there to only be 2 good fights. Not one fight was actually a great fight. I was just talking about the first 2, or last 2. There wasn't 1 single fight that I walked away having the desire to talk about.

My buddy at works first comment when I seen him this morning, "So I hear I should be glad I didn't buy the fights. Pretty lame huh? How were they."

I never complain about fights. But this card fucking blew. Name one good fight? I didnt even pay attention to the Main Event because it got so boring.

Dunham vs Sherk was the only semi-entertaining fight. Every other fight on the card blew.

there are exceptions(shogun rua)....but this is an excellent observation,layin......

the old, great pride guys haven`t exactly burned the ufc house down... and i would have thought that pride`s best big men(pre the lesnar/carwin era of super sized guys) would have wiped the floor with the ufc....

i never thought rampage would struggle with guys like griffin and jardine...

and don`t you think that overeem would want to fight in the ufc?....fedor?....maybe they understand that they need that edge....

i can`t help but think back to liddell beating a relatively lean overeem....now liddell next to overeem looks like teller next to penn...

maybe these guys just got old....or just maybe it`s what layin` alluded to(the p.e.d.`s)..mirko was still top notch in pride prior to coming to the ufc....and his results have been luke warm(at best)......

guess we`ll never know...

pride fighters should be compared to their ufc contemporaries. when you do that you see that the sport has pretty much surpassed that entire generation of fighters.

do you mean "wrestlers" when you say "this" generation,bud?.....`cause it seems that the nogueira`s and rua`s skillsets are just as good as any new fighters sans the pure wrestling aspect...

Hey guys noticed 1 of my bets with 5dimes was graded wrong or at least I think

So I bet on Nog points handicap +3.5 at -180 and they have graded it a loss

The official scorecard for the fight is Bader defeated Nogueria via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

My play is a win is it not. The handicap play would make it 30.5 to 30 in my favor. Or is calculated 90-81 (3 judges total scores plus my 3.5 points added to the 81 making it a loss for me. Just want to get my facts right before I call/ email them

I would think it is the total of all three judges cards, so you'd be a loser on this one.

Yeah you guys right. I suck:facepalm:

Been a tough week. Lost on Mirko and this fight though actually came out ahead for the card.

Liverpool drew with Sunderland in the premiership at home (WTF can't even beat the blackcats!) and the greatest fighter ever got submitted by Mayhem Miller:nooo:

by new generation I mean new to the sport. i don't think they have better skills, they're just less shopworn.

not many fighters who were at their peak leading up to and around 2005 are at the top anymore, whether they're pride or ufc.

the guys who still have it are either young and have less damage likely due to less fights or a style that results in less damage.

mirko ,for example, is 36, has had 61 fights between mma and kickboxing and he?s had several ankle and knee injuries in the past few years.

i hear you...i agree....i loved pride...more than the ufc when pride was in their heyday.....

some brutal fights...guys getting stomped on the ground.....soccer kicked in the face...

i love all the mma we`re fortunate enough be provided...but i miss having 2 big organizations....

maybe at some point strikeforce gets some sea legs...
