Also took Kampmann (0.8 Unit). His defeats are to more heavy handed fighters. Shields is not that.

Both have been at 185 so size should not be an issue in this 170 fight

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...k-injury-impact-the-kampmann-fight-at-ufc-121

Reports are that he is healthy now but how much good training did he miss? I'm feeling happy about my play now

in all honesty,i suspect that this will end up like most bouts with an elite wrestler involved end up...

i love kampmann.....(might be my fave)....i had him pegged as a keeper the first time i saw him....he`s stupid sometimes...but he`s about as well rounded as they come....

but all that might not be worth a hill of beans in the larger scheme of things vs a bigger wrestling machine like shields(i say bigger because shields has looked physically imposing recently...he made hendo look small at 185,imo)...even one with downright shitty stand-up....

i`d like him better in a 5 round bout....in a 3,i think shields smothers him ala everyone else he`s fought the last few years....

even spongy can`t question this resume(henderson/miller/lawler/daley/thompson/mike pyle/condit/okami/sakurai in his 20`s).......

to me,shields looks uber-strong the last few years.....i wonder if he had "help"?(just thinkin` out loud)....

Fighting smart is key to this fight for Kampmann. Don't throw kicks and make this a boxing fight. I wonder if Shields will have first time UFC jitters? I don't think it will but is something that has to be taken in to consideration - he has headlined for Strikeforce the last two out of three times out and also fought on the big K1 card in L.A though most of those tickets were free admittance.

I know where you are coming on Kampmann with being a favorite. He has great striking and good submissions and has picked up wrestling very well

kampmann is awfully good...and i think he relishes being a dog(he made many of us money vs thiago).....

i wish he hadn`t gotten clipped with that kick early on vs marquardt....

if that had continued,it could have been epic....

I love Martin. I'm trying to figure out if it's messing with my opinion on this fight though because I like him to win. I think he's very well rounded and his best asset is his chin but it's also a negative for him because I think he takes too many punches without worrying.

i honestly think Shields would do better at 185. I think this is a bad matchup for Shields as well as a few other fighters in the 170 division. Can he out wrestle Fitch or Kos or GSP? Yeah he beat Hendo. A worn out Hendo who has finally come out and said he wasn't 100 percent in their fight having all kinds of problems with his weight cut and back. Who is the great wrestler in all those names u listed? A basically washed up Hendo that night? Shields almost got knocked out in the first 30 seconds of that fight (probably because Hendo thought it was his only shot he had at winning)but i do feel that is a plus for Shields because he showed he has a nice beard. A big plus. This is a real tough fight for him and i need to see the weigh-ins before i would do anything. I wouldn't put to much stock on hearing about Injuries. Seems the ones we hear before the fight are mostly bullshit. It are the ones u hear about two minutes before the fight that make me cringe. Of course the lines are down when we get to hear those:facepalm:. Everyone always talked about Kampmanns ground game and i finally saw what guys were talking about his last fight. The guy is well rounded. Should be a good one. Now Shields and GSP im not so sure i would be that interested in seeing.

this Madsen/Yvels fight to me is gonna be just sickening. How do they even match these two up? This should be Yvels last fight in the UFC.

One of my buddies is getting the fight and invited me over to watch it. Great, right? Well, the catch is that he's a huge Lesnar fan (they make those?) and so is another guy who is going to be there. The last time I watched a Lesnar fight with those dudes I thought they were going to shank me for all the shit I was talking about Brock.

At any rate, the odds of Quagmire leaving his house with a black eye are at -350 right now at Bodog. If you want in, I suggest you jump now because that line is only going to go up.

Does he also like Kos and Diaz:shrug:

You need a new buddy:cool:

I don't think he follows MMA closely enough to know who those dudes are. I probably used "buddy" too loosely. He's the husband of one of my girlfriend's good friends, so I know him that way. He's not a bad dude, but yeah, the Lesnar thing is awful. He would probably feed a Mogwai after midnight, too.

played schaub at +155 medium ......thiago small at -105...ryan jensen +175 very small...

was looking at guymon and camozzi, but the odds went south(currently +105)....might still move...

like the undercard dogs...unfortuanately,they aren`t very lucrative...

already have hamill as the kicker to a 3-pronged par(couture over toney"the gift that keeps on giving"/meat mitrione and hamill).....paying 2-1...so a tito hedge is a possibility...

more coming...maybe a few props...
