Clay Guida was loving it. He was at home saying "Now this is some good MMA."

i love watching a chess game with two Ju Jitz guys but this was brutal to watch. Shields spends so much time trying to mount and then can't reallly do anything with it. His hands might be the weakess in MMA. He gets dropped by two knees, looks totally gassed, but gains all these points for mounts with no ground and pound. Heck Kampmann got out of a few mounts. Give the guy some points for that. Kampmann is a brain dead idiot anyway so maybe it is good he didn't win. I heard that the WashingtonRedskins asked Kampmann that he could play for them last week at any position and he picked the secondary. He thought since he doesn't play football that playing the secondary would be the easiest transition since Manning was quarterbacking the other team.

Dana White is trying to do damage control right now.

http://mmajunkie.com/news/21140/whi...stars-appeal-or-diminish-ufcs-bottom-line.mma

Bad news is real mma fans don't have much interest in the sideshow that is Brock Lesnar anymore.

Lets get real here. All Brock has going for him is a athletic big body with a college wrestling background. He has not evolved into a rounded mma fighter and NEVER will. He has shown improvement trying flying knees and what not, but any technical guy will beat him.
Cain did,Dos Santos would, and even Carwin would if they fought again. Carwin got way to excited and gassed.

Brock's only wins have come from flat out overpowering a guy and sitting on him until the ref steps in.
Last night Cain showed he could easily escape and exposed Brock for his TERRIBLE ground defense.

Brock has no submission skills,no knockout power, below average cardio, and is still clueless when someone takes him down. He did escape because he used strength and power but he just hides once on the ground.

Congrats Dana, your ex-champ is nothing more than a sideshow.

So total plays are

1 Unit on Cain
0.8 Units on Kampmann
1 Unit on Cain/Brock over 2.5

Views/opinions/ non plays on the rest of card

Thought Tito looked a lot bigger than Hamill who came in at 203.5. That alone put me off playing Hamill

Diego/Thiago. Until Deigo shows that he is over this kickboxing phase I can't play him. I want to see the Sanchez that faced Karo back in 2006 return. I do favor him in this fight though.

Think Stout beats Taylor. Just a much better version of what is the same fighter.

Not much known about Yang but he looks a little powerhouse

Missed most of the event due to being ill but caught up this morning. Slight loss for the event - should not have taken the O2.5. Loved the Diego fight. That is the Diego I want to see.

I have no idea what was going though Kampmann's mind in that 3rd round:facepalm:

I wonder if Brock is going back to WWE. Seems like they working an angle here - http://www.mmafighting.com/2010/10/24/wwes-undertaker-brock-lesnar-exchange-words-following-ufc-121/

brock came away from that fight looking like a 2nd generation mark kerr, both big wrestlers that can dish it out but can't take it. although maybe he's more of a 2nd rate kerr, since kerr was at least an adcc champ.

brock's cash cow status has to take a big hit after that, particularly when people take a 2nd look at his fight with carwin. the guy goes fetal in back2back fights. you'd have to be an idiot to clamor for another brock fight.

i completely disagree. i still thing he's their biggest draw. i think you completely fail to see why he's such a big draw in the first place. smh

For those who think Brock will not draw now wait and see what happens if the UFC do Lesnar/Mir 3

Good lord. You guys overreact way too much after a fighter loses. Brock will be fine, he's only had a few fights.

Cain is only keeping the belt warm for Dos Santos.

Cain and JDS will be a war but I'm not sure Cain is just keeping the belt warm. It's hard to say how either fight will do since they haven't faced the caliber of fighter each is and with the skill set that each has. Like I always say, give me a great wrestler with a good chin and I'll make money in the long run. Same goes for this fight. The one thing I worry about is if Cain decides to stand and bang with JDS to test him. I think that could be his big mistake. One thing is for sure, we're going to get to see JDS on his back and how good is BJJ skills are. That's something I've been waiting for. If there as good as some people say then he and Cain will be very fun to watch. IMO we are going to see these guys face each other 2 or 3 times over the next few years.

Overreact??

Brock has yet to impress me once really. He is just a strong playground bully.
No development whatsoever thus far. The top guys are just plain better than him and that is a fact. Not a knock on him but he is not on the same skill level as Fedor, Overeem, Cain, JDS, or even Carwin yet Dana tries to sell the fact that he is.
He jumped straight into title contender for the simple fact of marketing. He did nothing to earn a title shot.

He needed Carwin out gassing him to beat him. I think we could see Brock/Carwin 2 next and I will load up on Carwin if that is the case.

Has Brock knocked somebody out? No
Has Brock tried a single submission? No

Where is the learning of mma skills? He is just going out there and trying to be a playground bully and steal their lunch money.

are you claiming that brock will bring in as many fans as he did before?

my use of the word clamor was on purpose. i don't think a horde of deathclutch garbed turds are going to screaming for the return of ballerina brock.

he'll still bring in fans, but not in the number as before.

watching and listening to him,i get the feeling that velasquez isn`t a mensa member...

cain has a knack for throwing caution to the wind and getting into firefights.....

in lesnar,he had a guy with limited stand-up ability....

but in dos santos,he has a guy that will put his lights out if he wades in carelessly like he did vs kongo....he was lucky that he had enough consciousness to latch onto kongo`s legs....

it all depends on whether velasquez is smart enough to adapt to his opponent`s strengths and weaknesses....or fights on instinct....

i`m not sure which he`ll do vs a guy like dos santos...

A lot of Brock bashing going on but like it or not because of his sheer size he is a force. Not many guys he'll face will have the wrestling ability that Cain has. Anyone who doesn't is going to be on their back and getting beat. No, I don't think he's the best but he's still a beast and he's still someone I want to see fight. He got beat, that's it nothing more.

Kegray, he has tried and pulled off a sub against Carwin.

There is one guy we know for sure can beat him and it's Cain. JDS? I don't know that JDS would stop Brock's takedowns. I think he could be I'm not sure. Carwin? Brock already beat him once. How it happened doesn't matter, the guy won.

GW, I completely agree with you on Cain vs JDS. I think the way he fights will be very interesting. IMO I think you see Cain try to stand and if he gets clipped then he'll clinch or try for the takedown. Problem is, JDS hits hard enough that might be one clip too many.

No matter what, I can't wait for the fight.

Anyone want to guess the line on Cain vs JDS?

Im not even sure what has happen to Brocks standup. It is almost if Carwin cursed him by hitting him hard. Brock out boxed Coulture and traded punches with Herring and Mir. All the sudden Brock gets hit and runs. Brock took a vicious knee square on the jaw from Mir that would have knock out most guys on the planet. Something has happen to Brock where he just doesn't like to stand anymore. Maybe his operation has something to do with it. All his fights leading up to Carwin brock stood right in the pocket. Now it is almost like night and day. Randy has above decent hands and Brock never left the pocket. I know Randy is a bit smaller than these big heavyweights but something just isn't right with Brock anymore.

On another note i almost went with Pyle over Hathaway the other night simply because i think that knee he caught Diego with (early in the fight)was just one of those things that changes a fight completely. Watching Diego on 121 was a delight and i thought that fight made the night. I know Kick hates Diego for some strange reason but the guy is a pleasure to watch. Im becomming a Diego fan. I think he needs to get a rematch with Hathaway and fix that blemish.
