he`s 40..he`s the ultimate "lay n` pray" guy....and he`s moving up in class here...fighting an ex-170 pounder in volkmann(who is a pretty decorated wrestler in his own right)...

really interesting fight...

Gmroz....I said that earlier.....three years ago this dude was saying the same shit. He has never fought anyone in the top 20, never. And he is by far the most boring fighter in all of MMA (although his last fight he actually did something). I have watched Antonio McKee fight 7 or 8 times and let me tell ya he is one boring fighter. Sixfive would have a brain embolism if he watched Antonio McKee:mj07:

As you can see I went big on the underdog Volkmann, Antonio McKee has fought shit competition so maybe Volkmann will surprise him. Antonio McKee is kinda like Nick Diaz, he talks smack but fights shit competition. Although at least Nick has fought top guys in the past.

Volkmann at +155 is a great play in my opinion. Although I will say this about McKee, the guy does have great wrestling.

His biggest wins are Carlos Prater (who has been on a downsllide the past few years), Derrick Noble (very up and down fighter), Delson Heleno, Toby Imada (back in 05), Edwin Dewees and Marcus Aurelio. If he thinks he is top 3 then he is nuts

This will be a wrestling contest and Volkmann will fancy his chances in that type of matchup as he is a 3-time All American

Guys, you need to listen to the interview he did with Larry Pepe for Pro MMA Radio. He sounds like a complete jackass. He contradicts himself over and over, mixes in some comments about how exciting he is despite never finishing anyone, then talks about being a black role model. He sounds like a first class dipshit....and now I'm dying to see him fight.

gmroz22.....sadly I have heard him talk 100's of times and seen him fight 8 times (if you want to call it fighting). He is not only delusional but by far the most boring MMA fighter you have ever seen. I think Volkmann will shock Antonio McKee, McKee will be like "Holy shit, this guy can actually fight, now what do I do":142smilie

The only reason Antonio McKee is in the UFC is because he has been talking shit for years saying how amazing he is. I give him credit for that though, his trash talking worked, it did get him a shot in the UFC. But when McKee loses he will get cut, that I can assure you.

Once he realizes that he can't just lie on top of Volkmann, McKee won't know what to do. All McKee does is take ya down and lie on top of ya. That is all he does. And if he can't get Volkmann down in first round the McKee is totally fucked. There isn't a more one-dimensional fighter in all of MMA then Antonio McKee, none. Volkmann will welcome the "black role model" to the UFC. And then maybe McKee will shut the fuck up and retire.

McKee and Nick Diaz should go bowling together

"the bunker"
given it doesn`t have all the flashy stars...and they absolutely erred making stann/leben the co main event(i don`t care if they`re on winning streaks)....

still, top to bottom this is as good a card as i can remember...

Frankie Edgar (13-1) vs. Gray Maynard (10-0)..very intriguing given edgar`s improvement

Chris Leben (25-6) vs. Brian Stann (9-3)...not worthy of co m.e. status...but could be an excellent tactical stand-up fight

Thiago Silva (14-2) vs. Brandon Vera (11-5)..i`m a personal fan of silva...i think he`s just a shade below the elite in the division...vera has looked pedetrian at 205...but he`s a dog...and i can see him winning here...been flip flopping on this one..

Nate Diaz (13-5) vs. Dong Hyun Kim (13-0-1)...strength,grappling and and endurance vs stand-up,jits and endurance....

Clay Guida (27-11) vs. Takanori Gomi(32-6)...classic striker grappler match-up...this could play out several ways...i have always loved gomi...but i`m thinking that maybe many or putting a little too much emphasisi on the griffin win...prior to that early stoppage, gomi was looking like a guy on the downside of a brilliant career..

Preliminary Bouts (Non-Televised):
Marcus Davis (17-7) vs. Jeremy Stephens (18-6)...davis surprised me by looking damned strong at 155...
he`s naturally bigger...but tends to break up and stephens hits very hard...davis will try and box or take stephens down...stephens will try and punch a hole in davis` head...

Josh Grispi (14-1) vs. Dustin Poirier (8-1)..poirer looked good in his last fight...but imo, grispi is on another level...a legit title contender...and my money agrees..

Phil Baroni (13-12) vs. Brad Tavares (6-0)...don`t give a shit how good baroni looks at the weigh-in..he`s one dimensional and has the cardio of a pleurisy ward patient...tavares doesn`t find a way to outlast baroni(or gets caught being lazy early),he won`t be long for the ufc...money`s on tavares...

Mike Brown (24-6) vs. Diego Nunes (15-1)...is brown getting a little long in the tooth?...if he is nunes is no joke...should be a good fight...

Daniel Roberts (11-1) vs. Greg Soto (8-1)...soto looked strong at the weigh-in...is he a better grappler than roberts?...

Antonio McKee (25-3-2) vs. Jacob Volkmann (11-2)...two high profile grapplers...mckee with an amazing record(albeit vs less than elite competiton)...even at 40,he grinds pretty much everybody down...he`ll sit on top and take decisions...

but can he do it vs an ex-170 pounder who won the big 10 wrestling title and finished top 5 in the ncaa`s 3 times....

mckee with a very large experience edge...

this is great stuff...
