Are people gonna really say that? I would think people would say he beat another washed up fighter :142smilie

People on the internet will say that, but the MMA media will make Shaub out to be the Second Coming if he wins.

Rogan and company were talking up Randy Couture like he was still the same old Randy until the moment his teeth were flying in the air. I remember they had people on madjacks hedging their Machida bets at the last minute.

LOL, good points everyone.

I think Shaub is solid and promising, but we've really only seen him on the ground 1 time, and Roy was able to keep him there, then KO'd him on the feet.

I wanna see how good that jaw really is, and if Nogueira gets it to the ground, I don't see Shaub getting up...

The style and odds make this fight only PARLAY WORTHY. This fight could go anyway, and it's a matter of who's able to exert their strategy.

Schaub will beat Nog. Once that button gets pushed, it gets easier and easier to push it.....especially on the guys that were impossible to KO a couple years ago. I don't see this going to the ground, I see two lugs trading away until the old guys lights go out.

It's the same process with Wanderlei Silva (35). Even though he was stopped by Belfort early in his career it was not until Sept 2006 when he was put out by Mirko with a brutal headkick that the slide started. He was knocked out 3 times in his next 7 fights with the most recent to Leben

I see what you're saying. I think Nog has more left in his tank. When he was KOd by Mir, he had a staph infection, that's serious business. When he was KOd by Cain, he got drilled good. He's only been TKOd 2x now in his career. I know he's been in some wars, but his chin his still good I think.

Shaub no doubt could do the same, he's got the power. But if this fight goes to the ground, Nogueira will win the fight. Shaub was worthless off his back against Mir.

Agreed if Nog can get this to the ground Schaub is in a world of trouble - on the top or on the bottom. If he does get him to the ground it will be from a punch. A single or double leg is not going to come from Nog at this stage and I think Schaub will avoid the clinch.

I guess the key to this fight is how mobile is Nog after the surgeries

Agreed. We know Nog is willing to take some punches to get a takedown. However, gotta make sure that punch doesn't knock him out LOL

Does anyone know ANYTHING about Schaub and jujitsu background?

yeah...he didn`t have any....at some point somebody awarded him a purple belt...might have been carwin.....

seriously,i really don`t see how nog takes schaub down...and if it stays standing?.......well,look at the odds.....that pretty much tells you all you need to know....

the wildcard is the venue.....you know that nog will get every benefit of the doubt if this somehow goes 3....

That is the same world where Vlad beat Jon Jones.
