I like debating with you Raw, you're good natured and it's about the fights not anything personal.
Here's my thing with Sonnen. You say he's gotten better on his sub defense and that the Filho fight was a wakeup call. To me it was just that sub defense is his weakness. During the periods he wasn't sub'd was it because his d was good or the sub attempts where bad?
It's a steep price on the fight so I can understand someone not liking how hight it is but if it goes to the ground I just can't see Sonnen stopping the sub for 3 rounds.
No matter what it will be good. I love watching Maia's transitions, he's truely amazing.
Me too.... we have fun. :toast: I think you and I have similar analysis most of the time, just different betting strategies.
Filho is difficult to understand, so i may be way off. Magazines had him ranked top 3 at middleweight before his first fight with Sonnen. His Brazilian counterparts expected him to be the next big thing before....... well....... going crazy. :mj07: I'm just not quite sure when he went crazy.
Thing is Sonnen was beating Filho so badly I think he got too comfortable in his guard. He was defending chain submissions time and time again (all while pounding the shit out of Filho), and right when he "relaxed" is when he got caught. I dont want it to sound like i'm making excuses, but more like i'm giving Chael an "A" for effort. :142smilie
I'm just really excited for this fight.... I don't think Chael is a devastating finisher or anything, but I do think he can beat a lot of guys at middleweight. He is crazy strong and has made a career out of ground n pound. For an experienced guy like him to be around 2-to-1 is juuuust enough for me to lay the wood on him.
