MY thoughts on last nights card:

first and foremost u guys got to get off this Rampage is overrated garbage. Does he have to knock everyone out in the first round? He stretches two of the big names in the history of this sport and now he is expected to do it all the time. Im not saying he is a terrific fighter but for this sport he does what he needs to do to win. That knockout at the end didn't win it to me. How many times does he have to hurt a guy for people to be satisfied? He gets hurt once and everyone is down on him. Lastly he doesn't gas that bad like others. We have seen him go five rounds a bunch of times. Sure he was gassing because he went for the kill and burnt himself out the one time he hurt Jardine. Happens to everyone. With that being said im on Rashard in their fight for one simple reason and that is that Rashard has the most underrated chin in the business. Rampage has a good one but i think Rashards has one of the best. I think it will be a great fight but my money is on Rashard. Rampage has shown that when he gets hit he will take a back step. Haven't seen Rashard do that yet. It kinda fuels him when he gets hit.

Other fights
Carwin won simply because he also had the best chin in that fight. Kudo's to him for getting a lot of that useless muscle off. I was impressed by the knockout punch. Quick straight right u can't throw much better. It was as tight as it gets.

Matt Brown I thought looked terrific. Lots of speed with him last night. Total class act trying to get the ref to stop the fight. Some of these guys could learn from that. Some of these guys are hitting guys who are completely out and they should know it. I think Hamel hit his guy with three punches that were totally unessesary. Not sure that guy will ever fight again.

Vera is back. Good for him. He fights someone worth anything i will be back betting against him.

Miller kid has lots of heart and more experience and he will be fine, and Maynard fought a great strategic fight.

Now for my pal Kicksy, Put Grove in that biggest dick thread because he needs to be in the top five.

Also know what Kicks best moment of the night was. The booing of Matt Hughes :mj07: Then he sits there like he can't believe he is getting booed :mj07: Kick keep him top two in that dick thread.

Nobody is denying that Rampage is good, but people make him out to be a great fighter, and he's not. He's very predictable and 1 dimensional. I don't think he can beat any elite well rounded fighters. I'm sorry I can't accept he's a great fighter because of his character, making people laugh, and howling.

I'll be honest, I think Anderson would beat Page, Evans and I think Machida but it would be so technical I don't know how it would come out.

I think Jr. Middleweight boxer "Mandingo" James Kirkland could beat Rampage and the Dean of Mean, consecutively. What's the deal with that crazy snear the Dean of Mean always as has. He looks like he's hiding a weapon. :mj07:

Damn, Page isn't bigger than Rashad and I thought he would be!

Edit, hahah I mean "isn't"

2nd edit-the vodka has gotten to me.

that stuck in my mind,layin`...i noticed this,too....then i realized that rashad wasn`t emaciated from making weight....and he had street shoes on with a suit....

still,i expected quinton to look much bigger...

evans` movement will give rampage fits...looks like rampage has only one skillset...punching...he couldn`t even keep jardine on the ground...

I have to disagree with you on the Carwin section. What exactly does the guy have to do to impress you? In 69 seconds, I saw him get rocked to the ground, survive with Gabe Gonzaga on top of him, stand back up, and knock his opponent out without stepping into the effing punch! His fists are like cinder blocks. I was doubtful he could be as effective against big names, but I was dead wrong. I would bet him as a dog agaist anyone you listed above, anyone. All morning long I've been thinking about how this is the guy that can beat Lesnar and defend. He's going to get better, a lot better, and those sledgehammers for fists aren't going any where. He has one thing that really hurts him, and that it his age. At 34, he needs to get some fights in, and quickly.

i agree with a lot of this. carwin has poor boxing defense, but he'd smash several of the names kick listed, for example, nogueira. his defense is even worse than carwin's and his chin is in tatters.

HELL
Fun card to watch IMO, got it and wasn't to excited about the matchups, but we got to see some brutal knockouts. Wow. I thought the same as most, Rashad appears to be just as big as Rampage, I know he is probably a little heavy right now and was in shoes. Carwin, he showed me a lot as I thought for sure once Gonzaga took him down that was it, and he took a few shots too. Grove is a bitch, and here's to hoping someone KTFO him. Munoz, he just might be finished, that was sickening to see. I would have like to see Brock fight somebody on the 23rd anyways and push the Mir fight back even further, take advantage of this freak show while they have the chance, plus it's one more fight under his belt.

i know one thing we found out last night. Carwin has a thick beard. The question is does Brock? Nobody knows for sure.

"It drives me crazy; it's such a personal thing for me," White said. "These guys train so hard. Those two kids have been in camp for six to eight weeks training, they fly out here to fight, and the fight gets stopped like that. Listen, people make mistakes all the time. That was a bad one."

this is exactly what i`ve said when i see a b.s. decision in boxing.....and that`s even more egregious because the boxing refs have only one job...scoring....the ref in an mma fight has to worry about the safety of a fighter....he`s physically working...

better an early stoppage than a late stoppage,i guess...

He seems concerned except when he had to pay these two guys.
Shane Nelson ($16,000 - includes $8,000 win bonus) def. Aaron Riley ($6,000)

I was waiting for Sponge and the salaries.....and I'll say what I always do......PAY NO ATTENTION...they made way more then that.

You always post salaries and I always say pay no attention to em....they make way more!

And what took ya so long, you always post salaries like 3 seconds after the fight is done:142smilie

why would a neophyte like nelson make 8 g`s and a veteran like riley only get 6?......

because of the tuf show?....

that seems pretty unfair....

you think guys this low on the pole have all those big sponsors? The guy salary was less then the bonus the other guy got for winning. The guy that fought Hamil got a cool 12 thousand to have his head caved in. 12 thou and he was on the main card?

Yes we've gone over this 100 times, they should get paid way more, but those salraies are off, that's all I'm saying.
