Well you could call this fight card UFC 98 "Injury" because man oh man have there been a lot of injuries on this card. Props to UFC for having a deep roster because they have sure had to "fill a lot of holes" on this card.

Of course Sponge will bash this card like he bashes every UFC card:142smilie

I can not wait for the Matt Hughes vs. Matt Serra fight, next to the Gina/Cyborg fight this is the fight I most look forward to on next 3/4 months. I can't wait for that one:cool:

And always a good card when ya got :canada1 fighting. Tim "The Thrashing Machine" Hague and Krzysztof "The Polish Experiment" Soszynski are right up there with GSP.....umm ok well not that good:142smilie

Some of these underdog lines too good to pass up, so getting on some now. Of course I played the Serra selection way back on March 15th, see post here:

"the bunker"
i grabbed more edgar +245(after grabbing it small at +195) .....i just don`t think that line reflects how competitive i believe this fight will be...

i was not impressed with sherk vs griffin(a gift decision,imo)...edgar won more convincingly vs griffin...

if griffin could force sherk into a stand-up fight,i don`t see why edgar(a better wrestler than griffin) can`t...edgar`s stand-up is better than griffin`s and his wrestling is primo...

he can adapt and i doubt he`ll make the same mistake he made vs gray maynard...or,sherk will overpower him....he`s probably a better 145 pounder...

a strength disadvantage?...yeah,probably...but i think edgar`s a smart fighter...and he`s 8 years younger...

sherk`s a better than 3-1 fave for a reason....but i think those odds are a little bit long....

i`ll take the doggie...he has a shot,imo...

This is what I'm likely to go with...going to see how things work out over the next week or so though...

Rashad Evans +181 for $200
Matt Serra +236 for $200
Brock Larson +120 for $200
Krzysztof Soszynski -118 for $200

Then I'll throw $100 on a parlay for the 4

Here is my take on the Machida Evans fight. I can't see how anyone can take Machida at those odds. I would say the same thing about Evans if it was Evans who was the favorite. To me this is a very even fight. Two terrific fighters so if I had to bet it I would take the odds and Rashad. I can't believe the disrespect (odds)Rashad is getting in this fight. Here is a guy who improves every single fight and hasn't lost a fight just yet. I always worry about Rashads gas tank but when it is empty he still fights till the end. I think one key to this fight is Rashads chin which I think may be the best in the business. I can't see Machida knocking him out but I think Rashad is very vulnerable to kicks and this is were I think Machida can take him if Machida wins. This could be a very boring fight if Machida fights his usual style and Rashad gets frustrated but in Jackson's camp I'm sure they have gone over this a million times. Machida is now fighting a guy with athleticism to go along with skills so it is gonna be a very interesting fight. I wouldn't be surprised if either wins. If I wager it is on Rashad simply because I think it is a toss up and the odds are two juicy to turn away. First round will most likely be very boring but then I can see it start to heat up. I can't wait for this fight. Two great fighters in my opinion. I can see me just sitting back and enjoying this one with no wager in site.
