Anyone else have any thoughts on the Machida/Evans fight?

agree with what you said about the odds. I'm a huge Machida fan of course, but it looks like everybody else in the betting world is too  I mean, :wtf:  I don't think it will be a boring fight at all; I think most of it will be standing, and I think you're right about Machida probably being able to land kicks at will. I do think you will be pretty shocked how Machida dominates Rashad though in every facet. His (Rashad) good chin will keep him in the fight longer, but he's going to get his ass kicked. I never bet a -200 chalk though, and I'm certainly not going to when it could go to decision and he could get hosed.

i had liddell and griffin against evans, so i obviously have some difficulty assessing his abilities. conversely, i've been on machida several times.

i don't think evans will be able solve machida's striking defense. machida either follows his strikes with the clinch or darts away laterally. the opportunity to hit him is so small, i just don't see evans being able to pull it off.

and landing a ko punch is the only way i think he can win.

he's not going to outstrike machida to a decision win.

and what i've seen of his wrestling doesn't make me think he can get machida on the ground enough and control him.

i see machida being a favorite...not at these odds...

evans has 2 ways to win...by taking machida down and laying on him....or landing a bomb...otherwise,he`s in trouble in a 5 round fight,imo...

his cardio is still a big ???...he`s got fast hands....good feet...but he really slows down as the fight wears on...not so machida...he is so calm...he`s so measured...

i think it behooves evans to bank rounds early...or get machida out of there....cause the longer it goes, the more control i see machida exerting...

I have thoughts on the Evans fight, I'm staying the hell away. Evans lost me a ton of money last year and in every one of those fights I was feeling very good about myself. There is no way I take Machida and subject myself to 5 rounds of wondering if the one punch or kick is coming.

I think Machida takes this IF Evans sticks with his normal gameplan of standing with people. I think his only shot is to try and use his speed and wrestling to get Machida to the ground. Even then I don't know if he can win.

I think this is a perfect "no bet" fight.

I agree with Sponge, if you are going to bet, this card is set up to bet on almost all underdogs. Machida is correctly favored but not worth taking at those odds, so play if at all is on Evans +.

Dont know how you play over -200 on Hughes either. Serra is not very well rounded but hughes is not the best striker in the world either. I could see Hughes trying to stand and get caught but I dont see Hughes losing this either. He is already retired EXCEPT for this one fight.

Also I like Sherk but not at those odds. I wish I could play on Larson but that is not up at my site currently. The easiest clal on the card is Pat Barry but he is -300, looks like vegas is catching on to these Rufus guys.

I am excited for the card but glad I am going to a buddies to watch it as I do not want to pony up the $$$. GLTA with the bets

i think guys are underestimate Evans athleticism. Let me see Machida handle someone with speed and then i will be a total believer. I have to see the Chuck fight again but i thought he caught Rashad with some big bombs and Rashad walked right thru them. I can't get that greatly placed knee Machida hit Tito with out of my mine. I can see him landing one of those suckers but Rashad has the ability to get out of the way. Tito didn't have that athleticism to avoid things like that. Tito i thought got dominated by Rashad if he doesn't grab that fence over and over again. To me that is a huge game changer when guys get away with grabbing that fence. Coach i agree. Card looks like a big grab for the dogs. Hughes tho i couldn't even attempt those odds and may take a shot at the dog in that one. Im gonna bag the Evans fight. Be much more enjoyable. I can't remember this guy fighting Kaplan the clown. I guess he sucks because i think Kaplan does big time.

Was thinking of going to the first Philly (UFC101) card until i saw the prices :scared $600, $400, $300, $200, $100 and $50

They always cost this much? Can't see any of those seats being any good except the 600 to 400 tickets. Solid card tho.

sponge banned for 34 minutes for talking about UFC 101.

I'm in love with Machida and am putting my money where my heart is, even at -210. I think the guy is the best fighter in MMA. The thing that scares me more than anything is that Evans hasn't lost yet. Two undefeated fighters, hard to lay those odds, but like I said, I'm putting my money where my mouth is.

Also, put a small bet in on Edgar. Not a great match-up for him, but I like his ability and those odds.

One thing i never said about Machida is his freakish strength. Im not sure if it is his technique or a combination of both but Machida in the Tito fight looked as strong as an Ox. If Machida wins im not to sure i can see anyone out there that can beat him. I think Evans will give him more trouble then someone like Rampage.

Dana is going to get pounded with questions after this one about 2 straight PPV main events lacking in excitement.
Going to play:
Evans(+680) to win decision for 100
Machida(+220) to win decision for 100.

Also going Fight to go the distance(+150) for 100.
If it goes the distance then I make a profit no matter what(unless the rare draw). Cross fingers for a Evans decision and big winner.
Don't buy into the Hughes hype train. If he stands and throws then Serra is gonna knock him out. Hughes only chance is to get it to the ground. I think Hughes wants to beat his ass down with a KO and he can't.
Play :SERRA(+230) for 100

kickserv can't wait for the Serra fight......wew baby:spotting:

I was looking at those props as well kegray, the "fight will go the distance" prop for the Anderson fight saved me from losing last time, might do the same this main event, maybe:shrug: Only problem is that Rashad always costs me money, I bet against him all the time, he's always losing and then out of nowhere he wins. I may just stay away from the fight. Plus the odds on Machida are crazy:scared

Said it 2.5 months ago, the odds are Serra are insane, just insane.

And shit I know you hate Dana, but you can't blame him for a boring title fight, I mean shit what the hell is he supposed to do. I mean he's tried to keep Machida away from the title but really had no choice, pretty much had to have Evans/Machida. If it is boring (which could very well happen) why the hell would ya blame Dana:shrug: And fwiw it is Joe Silva who should be blamed, he's the matchmaker.

Yeah but Joe Silva lays low and lets Dana take the credit and blame for fights.
I never said Dana was to blame for a boring fight.
I just said he is going to be grilled like crazy for it(if or should I say when it happens again).
He was grilled pretty hard after the last one.

With Matt Hughes vs. Matt Serra...it's the battle of the biggest F'n assholes of all time. Hughes doesn't have much on Serra imo.

Matt Serra isn't an asshole. He's actually a very respectful guy. Alot of people in the MMA world respect him greatly.
