Again a hurt Hendo with a bad back. Now if Ellenberger comes to fight with confidence and all accounts looks like he is, he is gonna smash Shields and i can't wait to see it. Maybe we can fake like we didn't see Shields eye poke GSP and we can say how Shields gave GSP fits like how he grinded out Hendo. :mj07:

Shields landed more strikes then GSP did. Why are we arguing about this?

Shields is gonna beat up on Ellenberger

Bucks im not a GSP nut hugger but the reality is that Shields was getting abused and manhandled until the eye poke and it changed the whole fight around. GSP floored him and threw him down like a little kid.

I know reality isn't really a big part of ur life but who ever annouced this fight said it about a minute before the fight. Now u can either get the audio and learn something or live in that little world u live in and believe what usually is wrong.

Looks like Shields dad just died and they were very close. I wouldn't touch that fight with Bucs money, too many unknowns now.

It was obvious at ringside Hendo was hurt. He's never let anybody take him down like that. He was in terrible pain before that fight started. He probably wasn't even at 50% for that fight.

After Hendo destroy Babalu he fought Rafael Cavalcante . That Brazilian was big and strong and Hendo tossed him around like hendo was the bigger man. After that fight i said maybe Strikeforce might want to test Henderson cause he look night and day from that Shields fight. Then he fights Fedor and Fedor couldn't do anything with Hendo against the fence. Now is it possible a 185 Shields is stronger then 225 Fedor:facepalm: Before the fight i think it was Shamrock who said that Hendo had a terrible time making weight because of a back issue. Could u imagine having a bad back and having to fight a guy like Shields? Shields couldn't even keep Kapman down. I mgith be over evaluating Ellenberger but he gets better every fight. His hands are way better than Shields. His Jaw is solid his wrestling is solid, and his Ju jitz defence was solid against Rocha. Some say he beat Condit. Not the Condit ten years ago either.

you can put all the excuses in one hand...and shit in the other....guess which fills up faster?....

every loser has an excuse...it was a bit of an embarrassing loss....hendo was favored...he`s an all-time great.......but shields is just a better wrestler than hendo...actually,he`s probably one of the top 3 pure grapplers in mma...in a stand-up fight, dan bludgeons him....

but it`s not called "stand-up fighting"...

gsp did something hendo couldn`t do..stayed on his feet......hendo knew that shields only does one thing well....and still couldn`t stop it....

i like dan henderson better than shields.....but when i look at dan`s record i see an "L" with no asterisk next to it....

btw,,,thanks for posting the info on shields` dad...his father`s death is a real consideration....very sad....i can`t imagine how the guy can fight after that....he`ll be in a daze for weeks if not months...

Weasel, I'm not sure why we r really discussing that fight, but Hendo was obviously hurt before, during, and after. Have u ever had a lower back injury??

The only way he could win was to take him out fast and finish him, and he knew it. He nearly got that done, but he couldn't quite pull it off. He was completely done after the first.

Guarantee the result today would not be the same. Shields actually should have finished Hendo with some kind of submission and was weak for not doing so.

seriously...you guys need to get the excuses straight....

""Kuhlman: I had heard that you had a lot of back problems before your last fight. It did not specifically come from you, but it came from people who knew you.

Henderson: It?s just the way it goes. It wasn?t the back that was the issue. They (doctors) had gave me some pills to try and make it better, and the pills kept the water on me. The last week up to the fight my weight went up 6, 7 pounds, and it 12 or so pounds to cut in 20 something hours. I was right where I needed to be until that shot it up. It sucked. It sucked the energy out of me.

so it wasn`t his back....some pills he took kept weight on him .......THAT was the excuse....

but what`s the difference?...we all know it wasn`t dan`s fault...that`s the main thing....
carry on guys...if it helps you sleep at night, dan got jobbed/he was hurt/he was fat...whatever...

:toast:
