so far have henderson pending as the kicker in a par with mark munoz.....also have him parred with gilbert melendez.....

might nibble around the edges with a henderson via sub prop at +350(can`t get that henderson/varner fight out of my mind...varner having success striking and then in the 3rd he falls into a henderson guillotine...with guida shooting, that guillotine is a real possibility).....

also looking at pablo garza at +260 small given his length and submission grappling edges...he`s improved quite a bit in his last two...poirier struggled a bit with jason young and won by out-grappling him....garza`s no world beater...but,his subs are diverse....you can`t make a mistake

the prop and garza would be small, given the odds

Garza has a nice article in the Fargo Forum today. Good guy. North Dakota product and UND grad in UFC, not many of those. I think he is worth a shot at that price.

henderson guida won't be on fox?

if true thats insane

it`s crazy....even though some complain about guida,he makes interesting and usuaklly compelling fights(imo)...and this has title implications down the road...guida is one of the most recognizable ufc fighters...i doubt this will be one guy laying on the other...i suspect there will transitions out the giggy here...

not to mention the visual...all that fricking hair flying around the octagon...could open up some lucrative sponsorship opportunities(think polamalu)...

Dana and Fox made the right call. You think they want 8 million eyeballs watching a potential blanket outbreak? I agree, its unlikely, with this matchup. But you can't even take the risk with Guida in a situation like this.

Diehards can watch Clay on Deportes. Focusing on the main event is 100% the correct decision. LOTS of new viewers Saturday night.

And damn, Deportes ain't that hard to find guys. Come on.

i think u are right Ghost. I like Clay and think he gets a big raw deal a lot of the time but the style of the two are very similar. Both have average hands and like to wrestle. I see a lot of leaning on the cage fighting after one of them gets crack which i think will be Guida. I think Henderson out muscles Clay. Boy Clay vs Franki would be a nightmare. Frankie would pick him apart for five rounds. Then again knowing they are on Fox they might go balls to the wall.

Also agree, UFC and Fox did the right thing just having Cain and JDS fight.

Plus who the fuck wants to see Henderson do his bible thumping on Network TV:facepalm:

theres an excellent chance that guida/henderson turns into fight of the night(but probably not,due to the high profile nature of dos santos/velasquez)....henderson/miller was a ground war and an excellent scrap...a little one sided...but still a solid fight....

i suspect this will be similar.....

Quote possible. But they can't take the risk putting Guida on FOX.

A lot of people criticized FOX and the UFC for the ONE fight philosophy on for the debut.

But its very smart. All the focus is on two TREMENDOUS heavyweights. Both great guys and great fighters. Can't wait for this one. Wish it was Saturday.

I don't agree with the one fight only. Show people what MMA really is, they're either going to watch it or not and the Henderson Guida fight is every bit as much MMA as the Cain JDS fight is.

What happens if JDS cracks Cain in the first 30 seconds and it's over. Talk about taking a huge dump. Does anyone know if they'll show extra fights if time permits?

if they can`t put guys like guida and bendo on a big show....guys that have regularly been involved in big,fan friendly fights, then i doubt that the person watching will ever become an mma fan....grappling has become a huge part of mma....dana might be better off forming a tough-man league...both guida and henderson have been in many memorable fights...and their styles should make for a back and forth war given that both don`t stay on their backs for long and have some submission ability...a nice ying/yang to what many hope will be a stand-up heavyweight war....

guida has 3 fotn awards http://www.fightofthenight.com/featured/which-fighters-claim-the-most-ufc-fight-of-the-night-awards/

another thing to consider is the very real possiblilty that velasquez takes dos santos down and lays on him for rounds....the shorter man with the wrestling base may decide that he likes it on the ground better than he likes it standing...

who knows...my guess is that if the main event ends early,we`ll see the best undercard fight at some point...they might be keeping the option to pick and choose the best fight as main support for v/d.s......

what i hope isn`t happening is that they`re setting the stage for smaller future cards.......

If any prelim finishes in the 1st round they will show the fight before the main event. Assuming it is exciting of course.

As stated earlier, glad Henderson doesn't get the satisfaction to "bible thump" on network tv.[/B]

i think Millers style is nothing compared to Clay's. Miller will try a submission at any moment. Has Clay ever used a submission that wasn't a choke? MIller uses leg locks, arm triangles, arm bars, and chokes. Clay well ah a choke.

My Plays

JDS. Such a close fight but for me the deciding factor was ultimately the shoulder injury. Is it healed?

Henderson/ Kid parlay
Guida is on a great role but I think Henderson wears UFC gold before 2012 is over. I think Henderson crushes Guida in a one sided beating and submits him with a choke.

Kid had a tough first fight in the UFC but I expect him to come out and putting a beating on Uyenoyama

Cub
Cub at these odds is a good play. Of his 4 career defeats 3 of them have come against the current FW champion, former LW champion and current number 1 contender for the FW title - the other defeat he avenged .

obviously, you didn`t read the link provided...guida`s been involved in 3 fotn`s.....probably as many as any other fighter drawing breath.....and his style along with an action fighter like henderson, should make for an excellent fight....

i could care lesss whether the guy reaches to the sky or sticks his ass in the aie 5 times a day and praises allah....or plants a fricking bush in his corner in praise of gaia....

as long as he can fight,he`s welcome as far as i`m concerned...

thankfully this is america...we have a 1st amendment...
