did velasquez look even softer than usual?..?.....too many empanadas?...

...what`s he usually run?...i think around 245 or so....

4 pounds isn`t a huge variance...

First off, the one fight deal is the way to go. You need to get people interested and the HW Championship will do just that. Just bc grappling is a huge part of the sport does not mean people have to see it from the word go. Let them learn to appreciate it. If the DVD I popped in when I got interested in MMA again would have been ground battles, I wouldn't be in this forum posting. That said, as Kickserv/ShowdownJoe already mentioned, they will probably mix in a quick KO if they have one on tape to get people primed up. Second, leading in with a Hendo/Guida lovefest would counteract the very thing they are trying to accomplish. I think that fight is going to be a barn-burner, but showing it live is way too risky.

PS: Anyone that still claims Guida is a LNP fighter is simply not watching.

.i thought that a little man(especially little men as active as these two)/big man fights would be a nice contrast....

but we`ll see...i hope the card exceeds expectations...

Thoughts on the weigh ins:

Paul Bradley is fucking ripped and Mike Pierce is as soft as 170 gets.

Cole Escovedo looks like a prison camper from Auschwitz.

Aaron Rosa also looked in impressive shape. 204 today. Back in March of this year he weighed 259 for his heavyweight showdown with Abe Wagner

obviously, you didn`t read the link provided...guida`s been involved in 3 fotn`s.....probably as many as any other fighter drawing breath.....and his style along with an action fighter like henderson, should make for an excellent fight....

i could care lesss whether the guy reaches to the sky or sticks his ass in the aie 5 times a day and praises allah....or plants a fricking bush in his corner in praise of gaia....

as long as he can fight,he`s welcome as far as i`m concerned...

thankfully this is america...we have a 1st amendment...

In ur post u basically said Miller and Guida style are similar. In ur second post somewhere u got the idea that i think Guida doesn't have exciting fights. Wasn't it me who had the back and forth with Bucs when Bucks kept saying Guida was a lay and prayer and i brought up about five of his exciting fights? As a matter of fact it was only me sticking up for Clay on an island all by myself.

Man oh man can Henderson make 155 if he fought for the title? He looks like he is gonna faint at 156.

now that`s good stuff about a possible injury,spongy......something to think about........

At the weighins i don't know if it is just me but Dos Santos looks to have a huge reach advantage. Now was the shoulder bothering Cain or was it a different injury? Im really surprised this line has climbed. No way i can bet Cain here with him coming off an injury and looking a bit soft. How strong is that shoulder cause he is gonna need it big time tonight? It is Dos Santos or nothing for me. Two things a big time wrestler doesn't need is a bad back or a bum shoulder. That shoulder can blow with any move Cain makes.

i was leaning velasquez because of the grappling...but now i`m thinking about taking the 140/150 because i`m pretty sure that it would take something nearly life threatening to cause dana to cancel at this late stage of the game....

the weight starts to make some sense...

thanks for posting that...
