The thoughts that go thru your mind are unbelieveable for your first major.

Cannot imagine them for a 14 year old.

The first hole is a converted par 5, now made into a par 4. Im laying the chalk that hes not making par or better at 5d. Zhang bogey or worse opening hole prop.

nice call. Triple bogey. :0074

Round 2 play (4pts):

Tiger Woods to beat Webb Simpson -150 @ Paddy Power
With the course becoming firmer and faster during the week, this will become increasingly a test of ball control and if Tiger can continue to play to his game-plan as he did yesterday, it is just a matter of his own execution of it that will determine if anyone else can win this title. He hit more fairways and greens than Simpson yesterday, but that should not be a surprise - he ranks 1st in Ball Striking on the PGA Tour whereas Simpson is 75th and whereas Tiger is coming off a win at the Memorial Tournament, Simpson has missed his last two cuts.

[unofficial rd2 system plays: Kuchar tb McIlroy -125; Woods tb Mickelson -167; Bohn tb Park -167; Jacquelin tb Park -154; Adams tb Chappell -161; Adams tb Jacquelin -135; Byrd tb Pettersson -125; Rose tb Mahan -126; Byrd tb Stanley -121; Simpson tb Bradley -110]

On Wednesday we were sitting in umpire provided tickets behind home plate for Matt Cain to throw the first perfect game in the 130 year history of my San Francisco (New York) Giants franchise.

Thursday we were in the perfect spot (no one had better) when Nick Watney made his double eagle (first one I've seen, I've seen probably 7 or 8 holes in ones), in the group after watching Olin Browne chip in for eagle (and at the end of a long day we were watching from the side hill behind the 8th and could see fairly well when Ian Poulter drove #7 and made an eagle), which had us in the primo spot when Justin Rose nearly aced his final shot of the day, and we were in the perfect spot when Tiger motored in his birdie bomb on #5 on the only hole we watched him play. Olympic is set upvery difficult for spectators to navigate, and in a couple of instances of talking to other spectators and hearing their stories about some other shot that was the only great shot they saw hit all day (like Fowler to #1 8), we would have to plead guilty and admit to them, oh yeah, we saw that shot too.

But I really don't have much to talk about for my two days compared to SBI. Congratulations!!!

I definitely regret not having been able to get in plays on first round scores. Still have plenty of interest in my plicks, including my first pick of Justin Rose among my cohorts here.

Today is our off day, and we head down the coast to play the Alistair McKenzie gem, Pasatiempo. Back to Olympic for sure to be exhausting days on Saturday and Sunday.

There wer major commuting snafus in the Bay area yesterday with a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) fire closing the tunnel under the Bay, so our highlights came mainly in the afternoon, and we were focused on Rose/Mahan, Poulter/Kuchar, and Fowler/Ishikawa/Johnson (it's true, not even Woods has the media contingent following him that Ishikawa has). No cell phones allowed, and we were back collecting our checked merchandise on the way to the busses before we knew what Westwood/Donald/McIlroy had shot after seeing their first hole debacle.

Have to go for a few while I chat with my hosts who are just waking up . . . I'll be back with a few matchups.
