WEC 41: Brown vs. Faber II
Date: Jun 07, 2009

Location: Sacramento, Calif.
Venue: Arco Arena
Broadcast: VERSUS

MAIN CARD

Champ Mike Brown vs. Urijah Faber (for WEC featherweight title)
Jose Aldo vs. Cub Swanson
Donald Cerrone vs. James Krause
Josh Grispi vs. Jens Pulver
PRELIMINARY CARD (un-televised)
John Franchi vs. Manny Gamburyan
Kyle Dietz vs. Charlie Valencia
Mike Campbell vs. Anthony Pettis
Antonio Banuelos vs. Scott Jorgensen
Frank Gomez vs. TBA
Seth Dikun vs. Rolando Perez

WOW I see Brown is underdog (expected) but not by much. Please give me as much Mike Brown as you want at +110. Love Urijah but I think Brown has a great chance at beating him again. Faber could get frustrated by 2nd or 3rd round and Brown can KO him again in the 4th. Can't wait for this fight and props to Zuffa/WEC for making deal with Versus and showing it for free.

Also cant wait to see "the Cowboy" Cerrone in action again. Lots of heart.

If Pulver loses again (especially by KO) please hang them up buddy.

True....if Jens loses he may have to call it quits.

Also......can't wait for the Mike Brown vs. Urijah Faber fight but if you think those two are the top in the division....you are wrong.

His name is Hatsu Hioki

As I type this Mike Brown is even money, I like those odds:)

ok.....odds just too good to pass on, locking in now:

Mike Brown beat Urijah Faber $2.15 (+115) *2.5 Joe Rogans

Brown beat him once he'll beat him again, but remember what I said above.....Hatsu Hioki beats both these guys:SIB

Even, I'm not sure how big but I'll take my chance on Faber. He took Brown lightly in the first fight. If Brown gives him fits standing then this thing will be on the ground quick like.

I love Brown and I love watching him fight but I think Faber has more tools.

Josh Grispi will end Jens Pulver's career..... quickly.

Aldo/Swanson will be a good one. We'll probably learn some more about Aldo's ground game.

And WELCOME TO THE WEC, MANNY GAMBURYAN!! MAnny has what it takes to make a splash at 145. Maybe not a champ, but a contender nonetheless.

Not sure Faber can really take Brown down that easy. Brown looked a lot stronger than faber the first fight.

layin`..see if you can pull up faber vs tyson griffin on youtube....griffin threw faber around like a ragdoll,if memory serves me...it was awhile back and faber`s improved....but,griffin handled him...

doesn`t mean he won`t beat brown....but i suspect faber`s a tad overrated....his wec resume is pretty mundane...

i`m not trying to sway you...this isn`t the type of fight i feel sure enough about to lose someone else`s money...it can go either way...and this is in sacramento....i believe that`s faber territory...i get the feeling that the powers that be like faber being champion...

but,i`m on brown...

should be a good one.....:thumb:

hopefully grispi isn't too big of a favorite.

i like brown as well, his size, strength, wrestling and punching power should be enough to beat faber.

and while i'm sure faber is preparing well for the fight, he did attend ufc 98, which is about 2 weeks before the fight. i think i've seen pictures of him attending other events as well.

Muhr, I'm pretty sure he has to attend those events. He's one of the main faces of the WEC and they have to be doing a ton of promos for the fights. I know what you're saying but I doubt it's taking anything away from his training.

GW, I agree Tyson did school him in that fight. First, I think Tyson would be the Worlds best if he stayed down at that weight so I don't have a problem with the loss but the other thing is that is was 5 years ago.

I'll wait and see but I like Faber here. The only thing that worries me is that it will be a 5 round fight and I'll have to sweat out one punch for 5 rounds because Brown has so much power. I'm not sure about Faber's heart and will power. To me he should have been able to recover in the Brown fight last time. He looked the same exact way as he did in the Griffin fight, just seemed to give up. BUT, the reason I more than likely will take Faber is the speed factor. Brown is going to have to knock Faber out to win(IMO). I don't think he'll land more punches, Faber will definitely get more kicks in and I know for sure Brown can't keep Faber on the ground if he gets him there.

Lets keep talking GW, you might be right and I may need to get off this fight.

Besides I've done really well this year and I have to keep it all to LOOOAAAAd up on BJ.

Mike Brown was interviewed during the Pens NHL win. Seeing as how I can't pick an MMA fight to save my life, I am betting Brown because it's an omen. The Pens won, will win the CUP, ergo, he wins here. Scientific enough for ya?

Mike Brown is as big of a sucker bet as Floyd Mayweather. Massive square bet.

I like Brown alot and he has gotten better. But he's not a seller. Faber sells and quite frankly is alot more talented. Brown got a lucky punch because of a stupid mistake Faber will never do again. Faber was a -350 1st fight and at pretty well a pick em is a gift.

As tempting as it is to jump on the Brown bandwagon I dont like riding trains over cliffs. Be careful squares

OK Mr. Weiner; either you are a genius or smoking crack. So far we have Mayweather as the joke bet of the century, and now this. Well, if you are right, then you are the new "king of the hill". I think you are off target on both, but what do I know?

Aldo looked good in his last fight..

I think Brown is too fundamentally sound, and also too much bigger and stronger for Faber. This fight will show why Faber has no chance at 155.

( I am a huge Urijah fan as well.. )
