Mike Brown is as big of a sucker bet as Floyd Mayweather. Massive square bet.

I like Brown alot and he has gotten better. But he's not a seller. Faber sells and quite frankly is alot more talented. Brown got a lucky punch because of a stupid mistake Faber will never do again. Faber was a -350 1st fight and at pretty well a pick em is a gift.

As tempting as it is to jump on the Brown bandwagon I dont like riding trains over cliffs. Be careful squares

The thought process is along my lines, BUT....Faber is a big time fan favorite and money is going to go his way as the moronic "revenge plays" pour in.

My thoughts are: Faber is extremely talented and overwhelms most others in this weight class. However, Faber isn't used to the strength and power that Brown brings and he simply can't handle it.

I'm on Brown -105.

Im starting to rethink my play here, is there anyway that the ref/judges would sway this Fabers way so that there can be a trilogy? Dont get me wrong this fight is basically a coin flip but I think Brown has the edge, just wondering if UFC/WEC wants Faber to win because he is the more marketable fighter.

So is the "betting public" as big of a factor in UFC as it is in the big 3 sports?

If so, you have to think that whatever the odds are on this fight, they are skewed to Brown-backers advantage.

If not, then the odds are correct at a basic coin flip.

I guess what I'm wondering is if there is a large enough pool of "public" bettors (i know it's large but nothing like NFL) to sway the odds in favor of the "crowd favorite"?

Personally, I don't think so. I think there is a larger percentage of "sharp" bettors in UFC than the majors.

NOTE: For the most part, I think the term "sharp" and "public" bettors are a complete load of donkey shit.

So true I hate that "public"/"sharp" bullshit, I mean if you are on one side you are "the public" if you are on the other you are "sharp" I mean whatever:jerkit:

Although if you look above you can see weinerdog's thoughts on my Brown selection:142smilie

I slightly favour brown over Faber due to his size and power. I do think Faber made a mistake in the first one that he won't do again. Should be a great fight.

wow brown went from +110 to -105 at my book, now that doesn't make too much of a difference as those are all pretty much even odds but it shows where the money is going. I still like brown in this just going to wait till tomorrow to bet it. Hopefully most people put there plays in then. I hope the judges think that the challenger has to beat the champion to win not just keep it close.

If Uriah doesnt win this Ill be shocked. And not because he is the superior fighter. The posts in here are so square and all the bandwagon jumping going on its crazy.

I am a huge Brown fan as well. lol. And we wonder why the books always win.

I wont brag when Uriah wins because it is such a no-brainer. good luck guys

I just called my buddy Dana.....Zuffa has agreed to cancel the Faber fight. Faber clear cut winner so both fighters decided to just call it quits and go bowling Sunday night.

I have to say that on every site I look at the majority of people are saying Brown. On HDNet MMA show they had the percentage of people that voted as 57 to 43(or something close to that)on Brown. It's a 2 or 3 unit play for me but I can't decide. It doesn't help when I feel like I'm getting gooched by someone on our board. It's like in football when you really like a game and then you open the forum and someone has it as their game of the year. At that point you might as well forget your bet because there's a good chance it's a loser.

Ghost....one problem.....I have Jens Pulver and you have Josh Grispi, so one of us has to be a square and one of us has to be a rhombus, I'll be the rhombus.

:142smilie

As for the other plays.....big huge massive square...huge:burnout :142lmao:
