Yeah, the selfish people.

Like my dad who is 79 and wants to watch his grandson play baseball one more time before he dies?
Or the guy who cant provide for his family anymore and feels helpless since he was told to stay at home and his business has been shut down and he has zero idea how to feed his family? He is willing to take a chance he dies from the virus as he is contimplating suicide.
It is easy for the people who have money and can stay at home. To others not so much. I am not being argumentative and really trying to look at it from every angle. Just curious as to how people would handle the situation if you were in either one of these situations.
And not being disrespectful but when they put these people in the ground aint a damn soul going to say Thank you for not going outside and maybe saving lives.
And am I being selfish if I go to the grocery store? or turn my lights on because I'm risking infection or infecting others when they show up for work at the power plant employee that I passed in the grocery store? Or putting gas in my car at the gas station ? We want them to work for our needs but is that fair? And you can argue those businesses are essential but to the lady who worked at the clothing store she was essential to feeding her family but you are telling her she's not?

Its extremely difficult. My hope is that hundreds of thousands have had the virus, and dont even know it. That way, they won't be "taking a chance" going back to work. But how do we know? You can see right now what is happening in these plants where people work elbow to elbow. HUNDREDS getting sick. How many do they infect? 900 sick from that meat plant in SD. They go home. They get groceries. They see friends. Their numbers will likely soar in the next week or two.

Opening up sooner than later is almost a must, but that will come at a catastrophic price.

I agree ,,,It is a bad and sad situation,,I hooe we find a vaccine soon,,like yesterday soon,,,and i really Thank God I am not the one having to make these descisions becuase its going to get ugly way more sooner than it gets better,,We have "only " had 200 people die here in Alabama,,out of 5 million,,,,sorta like getting struck by lightening,,,,but again,,,,Who knows?

Yeah, the selfish people.

The selfish people are the assholes that think they have a right to tell everyone else how to live. The ones that believe all the nonsense they see on the news. If you?re terrified of the virus then stay in your house. The antibody testing is showing this kills less than 1%. I hope all the liberal morons are happy when we have crashed the economy for the biggest overreaction in history.

So go out and live your life.

If you or any of your family get ill stay at home and suffer it out, no using the services at the hospital you selfish prick.

What does this have to do with liberal morons. Who is the president? What party is he with?

Just think if we had done nothing and hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of people had died, you probably would have found fault with that as well.

Just no pleasing some people I guess.

You?re one of the liberal morons. It?s always the same argument. There is no proof hundreds of thousands would die. That?s just a lie. The lockdowns were stupid. The antibody tests show millions of people had it and it kills less than 1%. All these states are counting every death as a Covid death to keep the morons scared and in their house. It really amazes me how happy people are to give up their freedom.

Classic double-speak. Starts out with "there's no proof" about something that 90% of the population believes to be true and tells us we're all morons for believing it. Then makes 2 extremely inflammatory counter-claims - and provides absolutely no proof of either.

What hospital do you work at that you know so much about all these deaths being falsely attributed to Covid-19?

I do know this - if the history that is written about this period says that the biggest mistake was mankind's collective overreaction it will be the first pandemic ever where that's the case.

And just asking - any chance you could possibly conceive of the concept that most people are staying home not out of fear but because they believe it's the best strategy to defeating the virus with as little loss of human life as possible?

But hey - what do I know. I'm out here in the ultra-liberal state of UT where the GOP has only controlled all branches of government for the last 50+ years (and that Trump carried by 18 points in 2016). If only we could get some conservatives out here . . .

I'm coming out of hibernation.

We have 60,000 people in our county, and 55 have been tested positive. I'll take my chances.

That certainly sounds reasonable - hopefully you aren't labeled as selfish as that would be extremely unfair

St. Louis
Meanwhile in Eastern Missouri?the Franklin County Commissioner said golf courses, movie theaters, concert halls, gymnasiums, exercise and fitness studios, bowling alleys and skating rinks will be allowed to reopen at midnight Friday. Franklin county is adjacent to St. Louis. Businesses still have to follow social distancing guidelines outlined by Governor. This includes limiting crowds to ten or fewer people.

How you going to schedule a concert where only ten people can attend? I mean unless it?s Nickelback or Rick Astley. They will need major beer/concessions sales to break even with utility expenses and staffs? wages at concerts, bowling alley, skating rinks. Seems like Franklin County will be a covid guinea pig.

All the St. Louis people feeling the squeeze on their ?liberties? can drive 30 minutes on Saturday to go roller skating again. Yay. Then they drive back and frequent our neighborhood Costco and Quik Trip for sundries. I?m not afraid, I?m just playing the ultimate game of better safe than sorry along with my wife and kids.

In South Florida certain counties are closed for golf, you have to show your drivers license to prove you live in the county or they turn you right back around. It may be the same there? I hope for you guys sake they do.

Above the Clouds....
And Cuomo holds his ground. He says he is not going to be swayed by political pressure. NYS is closed!.
Good for him. One governor who's stands by what he says.

Big protest at the capitol today to open back up. I counted 7 people.

A reporter told Cuomo these people are at the end of their rope and desperate to go back to work. He said tell the to go out and get an essential job there's plenty out there!
