Bob,

Looking for a lil help here....

Serbia Pk & -1/2 (-120)

What does this mean? I was thinking it just means Serbia -1/2 (-120), but doesn't add up in my simple mind because Serbia is offered on the moneyline +105, which would also result in a loss on a push......

:weed:

Means 1/2 your bet is on Serbia pick and 1/2 your bet is on Serbia to win.

let's say you bet 120$

Serbia PK (tie): you will win 50$

Serbia -0.5 (win): you will win 100$

Thanks, I would have thought something like this:

Sebia loss = -120
Draw = - 60
Serbia win +100

I like your way much better:toast:

Thanks, dude. So, I only lose half of my play on a push. I still liked Vienna Joe's way better, but this'll do. I'm going to tail you on Germany.......

I had to ask the same question yesterday. This is my first experience with what I guess they call an "Asian Handicap". Not quite as exciting as it sounds.

This is called Double Handicap betting. Pinny explains it in the rules for Soccer Betting:

Handicap Betting: Soccer games may have either a Single Handicap or a Double Handicap.

Single Handicap: This bet type is similar to a bet on the spread in basketball.

For example:

Arsenal
Newcastle

-1, -125
+1, +113

If Arsenal wins the match by two goals or more, Arsenal bettors win and Newcastle bettors lose. If the match is drawn or if Newcastle wins, Newcastle bettors win and Arsenal bettors lose. If Arsenal wins by exactly one goal, all bettors receive a refund.

Double Handicap: This bet type splits a wager into two bets, each with the same moneyline, but at a different single handicap.

For example:

Real Madrid
Barcelona

-1 and -1.5, -108
+1 and +1.5, +100

A client who bets $100 on Real Madrid actually has two separate bets on Real Madrid: $50 on Real Madrid -1 at -108 and $50 on Real Madrid -1.5 at -108.

A client who bets $50 on Barcelona actually has two separate bets on Barcelona: $25 on Barcelona +1 at +100 and $25 on Barcelona +1.5 at +100.

As Bobby said...Good luck! Germany it is. :mj06:

Holland always inspires at the beginning of tournaments. They didn't give away any points in qualification for this tournament, drilled the Group of Death of Romania, Italy and France in Euro 2008 and got all the points in 2006 except a tie with Argentina in the final game when both teams were with 6 points and going through.

Line is moving up, but it would have to move up a lot higher for there not to be value in a Dutch win.

Both teams think that they will be helped with a draw and the game should be respectful. Pretty high price on that so I'm only playing a half a unit

Nice thing about being a US homer is that they're never favored by the bookies. And Mexico gets overlooked as well. The run up and the qualifying of these teams couldn't have been more different.

Before France's opening game, I talked about the trouble in the French camp and it's only getting worse.

Everyone on France's side are from teams at the top of their league and aren't used to not having possession and won't be used to chasing as they will against Mexico.

Mexico (World Cup) +267* vs France (World Cup) risking 1 unit

Argentina could have won 3-0 or 2-0 as Messi was inches away from 3 or 4. They were flowing and had they taken more of their chances, we'd be talking about them instead of Germany. South Korea has will, some ability, but have a huge step in class.

Argentina (World Cup) -1? +158* vs South Korea (World Cup) risking 1 unit

Maybe they can turn it around, but I don't see how. They look tired, bored, listless.

Nigeria (World Cup) +105* vs Greece (World Cup) risking 1 unit

. . . I'm also down on Brazil (World Cup) -130* vs Ivory Coast (World Cup) Sunday for a unit and Spain to win their group at +205 for a half a unit

Before the US/England match, I talked about getting results against the bigger teams being a part of the US DNA. Another thing that's in their DNA is getting their asses handed to them by physical, plodding Eastern European teams. US's best game has always been against attacking teams and Slovenia is limited offensively and prefers to play defensively. So while I think this US side is better than previous, this match will be tricky for them.

Slovenia is going to be tough to break down and 1 goal should win this game. I'm hoping that the US experience and opportunistic play get the result, but it will be some horrible soccer to watch.

USA (World Cup)/Slovenia (World Cup) Under 2 -110*
