It's really hard to tell what will happen at this point, but one thing is for sure, everyone who said the Lakers would walk all over the Pistons had their head up their ass.

amen Bombs

i dont wanna sound whatever, but if you go back into my posts long long ago, I said west would have struggle with east this year; and repeatedly said Deet would give LA all they friggin want--damn near had series in palm too :(

Damn....I've only just managed to surface after that loss!

What a horrible turn of events.

I just get a horrible feeling that we'll be seeing that Kobe 3 as often as we have seen Horry's trey last season. :(

I know Detroit are still right in this thing, but I can't help feeling a little dis-heartened.

(Although, having said that, I didn't really expect them to win Gm. 2!)

Bring on the home stand!

Having read thru all of these I dont think I saw even one person give props to Walton. He gave this team a ton of energy in the first half and made some great passes thru out the game. He just might be the role player the lakers are needing.

I gave props to Walton. He saved their azz, and more than made up for the failings of his role player associates.

Sorry bombs, just saw your post above you are correct I overlooked it. Rush hit a big 3 but then started playing too out of control, was starting to force shots and was shooting off balanced 3's with lots of time still on the clock. Will be interesting to see how much time Walton gets for the rest of the series, he definitely earned it last night!!

It was a very tough loss for Pistons as they had it bagged. I really had a strong feeling that once Shaq converted the 3 point play (miraculously!) to cut the lead to 89-86 that Lakers weren't out of it and when they got the ball back with 11 secs to go it was so predictable that either Kobe or Fisher would hit the trey to send it to OT. At that point the mo was all with Lakers and Detroit bettors were lucky to even push because Detroit had a complete mental meltdown. I don't know what that cinder block Rasheed threw up was OR why Hamilton insisted on shooting from the outside 3 straight times rather than take it inside with Kobe and Shaq at 5 fouls!

All that being said it is clear to me that the Pistons are the better team here: more balanced and just ferocious on the boards. Many will laugh but the Lakers were completely outplayed on their home court. Anyone who bet the Lakers to win the series giving 7 to 1 or whatever it was is a fool whose money will be parted from them sooner or later.

Larry Brown will point out to his team that they now are in a best of five with home court advantage. The Lakers parts do not fit together nearly as well as Pistons do. The Lakers are on the verge of backbiting one another. Shaq's free throw shooting WILL cost the Lakers in my opinion before this is over.

As far as predicting what will happen next,I'd like to add that the fact that the Lakers haven't covered yet,and are currently on a five game ATS losing streak bodes well for them and poorly for Detroit. The Lakers will not go zero for the series ATS.The games in Detroit will be pickems or very small numbers.Getting the split last night and pushing the 8,not covering, means to me that the Lakers are going to play better than the number sometime very soon, and probably for more than one game.GL either way

The fact that Vegas is actually making the Lakers a favorite in Detroit tells me that the public still hasn't learned their lesson. I actually would take the Lakers if they were getting the 4 or 5 they should but not with the line where it is.

I could be very wrong and the Lakers could light it up there but I just don't see any value in taking the Lakers in this series. I fully expect however that they will likely cover at least 1 game (before they are erased :) )

Bottom line, as far as I'm concerned, is that the longer the series goes, the more it favors LA. Open shots were still not dropping last night, and unforced turnovers hurt the Lakers. LA will eventually get into a groove with the Pistons, while I don't think Detroit can play any better.

I hope Malone is okay because I am not sure the Lakers can win it without him. Lakers sure are missing HORACE GRANT now. Wow! Lakers must win one in Detroit, with a goal of taking two. I think they can do that, as they play pretty well on the road.

Remember, Lakers were down 0-2 to the Spurs and won the next 4. They are tied 1-1 with Detroit. Lakers also won 8/10 against the Spurs/Wolves. Pretty impressive.

If the Laker "role" players "HIT" their open shots that the great Piston defense is giving them, Lakers will win the series. Up to the role players for Lakers. Will Payton contribute at all? Billups 49pts first 2 games Payton 5pts. Pistons should have blown out the Lakers last 2 games.

Scott, you are an absolute broken record!!

That's about the 5th time you have posted "Payton is crap, Malone is injured, but they will step up!"

There is absolutely no reason for them to suddenly "step-up!".

So you're expecting Rush, Medvedenko, Fisher and George to start shooting 100% from the field??? Huh??
Well...In gm. 2 Detroit only got 15 "points" from their "role" players, after 30 in Gm. 1.

What's your "point"?

Oh, and sure LA got by SA, but they only won 1 of 3 on the road. :nono:

took deet +120

took deet +120

last night and LA under 86

after sleeping on it and getting my wrath/pain out, these guys will give it their all and bounce back ... shoot, U never know when U will return, so only pussies and noncompetitors would not claw even harder (i know what i said last night but im taking a semi-Mulliagan) dont see them as damaged as i was last nite hehe ;)

as for HOGO helping, C'mon, hes been a piece of manure for 5 years ... when seattle gave up Magette for Hogo, I laffed loud enuff for the Sphinx to to cover its stone ears ... You want a broken down Mr Ed, trot hogo out there

and as far as Luke helping, that was so obvious I guess I wouldnt even post it, he was the diff UR right and w/o his versatility they lose by 10 ... I'll be kinda surprised if PJ doesnt start or play him more than DV or Junkmail now ... always loved his game in college and he has youthful legs and savvy and can actually shoot now--hit monster trey in game 5 vs my spurs

ok lets rally up Detroit fans, I got a good night's sleep Im ready for TWO, where the hell's Ernie Banks? ;)

Phil Jackson cannot play Luke Walton more because he will get exposed. Watch in game 3 tom. night. Walton is a tweener and cannot play defense down low. He will turn into a liability. Lakers need George and Payton to step up to win this series. Kobe also might have found his 3pt stroke. Pistons have benefited from Kobe's poor 3pt shooting.

Pistons will win series if Rasheed Wallace takes the ball to the hoop. Nobody on Lakers can guard him down low especially with Malone at 50% (or Malone might not even play). Lakers need to entice Wallace to shoot from outside.

exposed?

exposed?

if he gives them passing and points, he'll be on the floor; not like det is Off. juggernaut; outside of Rasheed at times, Deets frontline offers no imposing threat: Ben (jeezus if he makes 2 of those wild lobs they toss him a game they are up 2-0 easily)? Corliss (soft and losing any edge he once had)? Campbell (possibly the best but buried most of year for some reason)? Okur? (i blame him in subtle ways for loss in game 2--been useless) I think not ... if his options are to play Meds or punchless malone, Im sorry I gotta go with Luke, he makes plays, simply put: HES A BASKETBALL PLAYER, dont ever underestimate that ;)

Well.......after sleeping on it...........I still cant believe Larry didnt foul Shaq will like 6 seconds left..........I am still trying my hardest to understand but I cant come up with any logical reason except for losing the game on a four point play...........in all my years watching hoops I have never seen teams try constantly to foul an opposing player like Shaq.........Brown had the chance......hell it would have been hard for him to even make the first one let alone miss one on purpose........half the time he looks like he is trying to miss anyway and they somehow go on. Shaq is such a lousy free throw shooter he probably would have made both of them while trying to miss the second one........

well history is history.........

Now I am left with my 5 units to win 70 units future on the pistons............if I hedge now I think I can guarantee myself like 15 units...........or do I go for the gusto and let it ride for the series..............

Its hard for me to see Detroit winning all 3 games at home when its never been done before...........so that means if the even can win 2 of 3 then that will force them to win another in LA to win the title..........Dont know what to think...........I would have more confidence in the Pistons at home but I am reminded about their clunker home losses to Milwaukee, New Jersey and Indy........so they are capable of having a bad game at home

This is what I would do.
@ Pinnacle you can bet Lakers to win it in 6 games and 7 games.

Put 5units on each bet. Lakers in 6 +220, Lakers in 7 +230

Lakers win it in in 6 you win 1 unit

Lakers win it in 7 you win 1.5 units

Pistons win it you win 60 units :thumb:

I do not think lakers win it in 5, especially since Malone is injured. A healthy Malone Lakers could do it. Plus if Lakers win next 2, they prob. give game 5 away as they always seem to do.

If Pistons win tonight, I would put 5 more units on lakers to win it in 6 and 7 and get better odds. Guaranteed big profit no matter what happens in the series. If Lakers win tonight, you covered your butt and just root for the big 60unit profit (unless Lakers win it in 5). If series comes back to Lakers, Pistons have tough hill to climb. Remember lakers were down 3-2 to Kings 3 years ago and won the last 2 @LA and @SAC. So far this series, things have not gone Lakers way. Remember that.

If you follow my advice and Pistons win tonight, then your looking at something like.......

Lakers win it in in 6 you win 15 units

Lakers win it in 7 you win 16 units

Pistons win it you win 50 units :thumb:

Guaranteed to win one of the 3 and still root for the huge 50unit winner up 2-1 in the series!!!!!!!!!

Good luck with whatever you do, but I do know one thing. I wish I had your betting ticket!

Scott........good advice and I thought about doing just that but
WHAT IF THE LAKERS WIN THE NEXT 3 IN A ROW"

I just cant see that but in this business you never say never......
I cant see losing with this ticket.......If I bet the Lakers to win in 6, 7, plus the series bet..........I could possibly lose 3 tickets if the Lakers sweep..........

Good point but knowing the Lakers, it is high prob. Lakers will play flat in game 5 if they are fortunate enough to win games 3 & 4. But no way do you want to lose 15 units. SO you could do this but I dunno how much cash you got handy.

If Lakers win game 3 and 4, you can bet Vegas will have Lakers at least -3pts for game 5 or higher. Maybe even -5 if Lakers beat Detroit soundly. Easily could hedge with Pistons ML in game 5.

Remember Malone is hurt BADLY, Fisher is not 100% either.

I dont want to intrude but the pistons have the upper hand here. they dominated both games pretty much and now they are at home and the lakers are probably without malone. the home crowd will be going nuts tonite. the pistons will take 2 of 3 at home and will win 1 of 2 in la.
without malone it hurts them more than most people will like to admit. rasheed wallace should have a big game tonite, they just need to feed it in to me and let him do his thing, whether he scores 20 or just dishes it off to ben wallace when they double down on him. I think detroit has the upper hand.

i would ride this game out tonite and then think about hedging your play. you are in control at this point. i have detroit to win the series and feel very confident with my ticket. i get excited just thinking about yours so just ride it out for now.

good luck either way you go but the pistons win this series, it starts tonite. when they get up they will not sit on the lead this time, i look for the game to go over the total as the pistons will just keep scoring tonite.
