Thanks Brad,

What do you guys think of China +.5 -185, I see this game ending in a 0-0 draw, with not many scoring chances coming in the 1st half I expect the same in the 2nd half.. the only thing is high price, all it takes is one goal by Costa Rica and POOF, the under in the 2nd half is -222.. strong play as a hedge but I will pass thinking this game remains scoreless

Recap: 2-0, +6.00 units

Man oh man was that ever so close as Costa Rica almost made it 3-0, I bet us under were were praying for the ref to blow his whistle (no pun intended), China lost the game themselves as they made 2 costly errors which resulted in 2 goals by Costa Rica

In this game there will be many battles in the trenches(midfield). I will say this, whoever controls the midfield will win the game. Belgium has experience but Japan has the legs and home field advantage. Their players know that the entire country and millions around the world will be watching. I expect them to be nervours the first 10 minutes but if they can get away without allowing Belgium to score early, they should settle down and get THEIR game plan going. Japn will try to get the ball to their wing men who have a distince speed advantage over the outside belgium defenders, now only if they capitalize....

GL men, after the 1st half I am off to bed, passing on the Korea game

Portugal VS Usa

What a game this is going to be, the Portuguese players will be nervous for the first 10 minutes as all the pressure is on them, and the US have nothing to lose. I was hoping to get confirmation of who is playing for the US before I stepped out to the local pub.... but ESPN has shown the starting line-up with Hey-Dude in for Regis, and no Mathis. If they did not get it from Arena, like they said, then where the hell did they get it? Is Mathis' being left out of the 11 because of injury or some sick mind game by Arena? Drinking all night, and staying awake is a skill that I am still trying to master. :D

If any of you know me by now I do take the odd risk, and I see this one being a SOLID wager as they come. The portuguese squad know that they have to come out on top of their game if they want to qualify for teh 2nd round as Korea will not be an easy task, especially playing in front of their home fans. Figo will dominate, Couto and Costa on defense will shut down any attack that the US will bring, and I look for a 2-0 or 2-1 victory by the portuguese. Their coach Oliviera has been playing mind games all week questioning what their game plan will be, come on he may fool some but not me. He has a game plan and that is to attack the defense of teh americans which is their weak point.

Sorry to my american friends but Portugal will be teaching the americans that you don't mess with them when it comes to soccer.....:nono:

Play: Risking 23.3 units to win 10 units
Port -233ML 10 units

Good luck and may God Bless the Portuguese players today, if they win you'll know I'll be walking out of the bar a HAPPY DRUNK, if they lose or draw well..... who knows....

:drinky: :Yep:

Germany-Ireland

1 unit DRAW +240

This is just a gut feeling as I will probably be sleeping by game
time due to over consumption of beer!!

I am speechless, a very dissapointing game by the goalkeeper as they are calling for his head in Portugal already. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start next game... Here are some headlines from Portugal newspapers

"It's okay to lose to the USA at war, but its EMBARASSING to lose a soccer match"

" FIRE ANTONIO OLIVIERA NOW"

Couple of points:

1. Figo didn't do much
2. rui costa played a pathetic game
3. costa the fullback played poorly
4. a lucky bounce for the US in their 2nd goal bouncing off the defenders head into the net

Portugal being down 3-0 in the 1st half didn't help either and it took them away from their game plan, though I admit they had a heck of a chance to tie it up in the end. I would make this wager again as Portugal is the better team, but the best team doesn't always win as we all have seen now. The entire world is shocked at the result and I know the portuguese community is in silence here in Toronto, already I saw a few italian fans driving around in the portuguese sector of the city in their cars waving their flags as to rub it in the portuguese fans... I am not so upset towards the result of my wager, rather, I am upset for the lack of effort by the portuguese team and coming out flat in the first 10 minutes....but like I expected they would be nervous and careless mistakes cost them the match and myself 23 units

My apologies to those who wagered on Portugal as I should have known that their 1st match had a possibility of lackluster effort...

Curious to see how this team is going to come back in their next match....

Great call on the Ireland game TTM. I hope you don't let the freak Portugal result get you down to much. On paper it was one of the strongest plays of the group stages and I was staggered to see how bad Portugal were for the 1st half hour. It was just harsh luck that was the game you picked to hit hard. Other than that you've been reading the games as good as anyone and am sure you'll be back in profit come the end of the World Cup.

Thank you Monarch for the comforting words, I just finished reading Nolan Della's article in the free picks section and I think he sums it up best oon the defeat of Portugal....

I am making these wagers early as I expect the line will climb as game time approaches, especially on Cameroon

8 units Cameroon (-1) -208

3 units Denmark- Senegal UNDER 2.5 -127

1 unit Denmark 1st Half -.5 +177

2 units Denmark UNDER 1.5 1st Half -330

GL

If Cameroon doesn't win this game I will be very shocked, how much worse could it get?
