Also you guys do realize that Anderson Silva will not have to cut as much weight, if any at all? LOL I would think he would have alot more power and explosiveness.

Silva's walk around weight is about 215, but he claimed in a recent interview that he's now weighing 220.

"I weigh 100kg,"

http://www.graciemag.com/news/144/ARTICLE/11185/2008-07-14.html

The talk about Irvin being bigger is exaggerated and largely based on Irvin being an anabolic-androgenic steroid user for several years. Without AAS, by his own admission, Irvin is actually a 185 lber. Let me clarify, he doesn't admit to drug use, but rather, he claims without an extensive weight gain training regimen he's well suited for 185.

Yes, Silva has had size and reach advantage but he's also destroyed all of those guys. I don't think he would worry about GSPs takedowns. If Hendo couldn't gnp him then I wouldn't think GSP could either.

GSP has destroyed some quality opponents himself.. especially in his last three showings.

Hendo's gameplan was brilliant btw.... win first round easily by ground n pound and then stand w/ the best striker in MMA. Hendo lost due to symptoms of retardation.......

If Silva was taken down easily by Lutter he should be frightened of GSPs takedowns... and Lutter has the gas tank of a 300 lb 5th grader. Not the case w/ a smart, well-conditioned GSP.

Plus, u mentioned Serra as if he hits like a girl. :nono: Only person ever to finish GSP w/ strikes and one of two people to rock Karo Parisyan.

Thanks for the clarification..

He has used AAS "by his own admission" b/c he said he uses weights to gain weight?? :mj03:

:wtf:

His high end weight was around a lean 245 and when he started competing in drug tested events his weight dropped to around 220. It's possible that he didn't use AAS, but the likelihood of gaining that type of LBM while also following an MMA training routine is unlikely.

by John Morgan and Dann Stupp on Jul 17, 2008 at 8:15 pm ET

ANAHEIM, CALIF. -- In Saturday's upcoming battle of counter-programming with the UFC, Affliction has again raised the stakes with its debut "Banned" card.
Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that Saturday night's pay-per-view broadcast will run a full four hours and will feature eight bouts. Additionally, FSN will air three bouts, rather than the previously reported two fights.
In other words, between FSN and PPV, the entire "Banned" fight card will be televised.
Saturday's event features a headline bout between longtime PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko and former UFC heavyweight title-holder Tim Sylvia. Other notables such as Josh Barnett, Andrei Arlovski, Ben Rothwell, Matt Lindland, Renato "Babalu" Sobral, Vitor Belfort and Aleksander Emelianenko have formed what many are calling the greatest fight card in MMA history.
"Banned" was previously set to feature two fights on FSN and five fights on PPV. Four preliminary fights were expected to go un-televised.
However, Atencio said that will not be the case.
"Every fight except the three that are going to be on [FSN] will be on pay-per-view," Atencio said.
"Affliction: Banned" takes place Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The FSN broadcast begins at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT), and the PPV portion kicks off at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT).
The event goes head-to-head with UFC Fight Night 14, which airs the same night on Spike TV. Affliction faces some stiff competition. The UFC is putting one of its biggest stars and arguably the world's top pound-for-pound fighters on free basic cable television as UFC middleweight champion meets James Irvin in a non-title light-heavyweight bout. Brandon Vera, Hermes Franca, Frankie Edgar and other notables are also in action.
Atencio has continually stated that he's "flattered" by the UFC's decision to counter-program and that it only proves that UFC President Dana White considers Affliction a legitimate threat.
The full "Banned" card now includes:
MAIN CARD (PPV)
Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia
Andrei Arlovski vs. Ben Rothwell
Josh Barnett vs. Pedro Rizzo
Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. Mike Whitehead
Matt Lindland vs. Fabio Nascimento
Edwin Dewees vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
J.J. Ambrose vs. Mike Pyle
Ray Lazama vs. Justin Levens (swing bout)
PRELIMINARY CARD (FSN)
Paul Buentello vs. Aleksander Emelianenko
Vitor Belfort vs. Terry Martin
Mark Hominick vs. Savant Young

I just can't pass up an underdog this big, I gotta add Edwin Dewees. I think he is the biggest underdog I have seen in an MMA fight. I can't think of a fight with bigger odds then him vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. There is just no way I can pass on this massive underdog play. I mean this is MMA and anything can happen, how can ya not at least take a shot at such huge massive humongous collousal odds:scared

GW....we here in Canada are screwed (no FoxSports Net in Canada)....I have been looking for a stream for those three fights as well:shrug: Sad really, considering a Canadian is fighting in one of those fights:nono:

Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to find a way to watch those three fights....but I doubt it.

Also.....the brass at Affliction should be shot for not having a way to watch the fights on the web. The only way you can watch the PPV is in the USA and Canada, the rest of the world can't watch. Dana White gets bashed on here all the time (Sponge!) but he would never make such a moronic decision as that. Affliction pays that dickhead Fedor millions yet will lose countless amounts of cash by shutting out 80% of the world. How dumb is Affliction? Really dumb! Plus, the only way you can watch the three Fox Sports Net fights is if you are in the USA.

Affliction won't last long when you make moronic decisions like that. I'll be very surprised if they last 2 years.

Affliction, like that girl that gives ya anal on the first date..........then.....you are lucky to get a hug a month later:142smilie

I don't think Serra was quite that high....but he may have been. I think Serra and Dewees are the biggest underdogs I can recall. You never see odds that high in an MMA fight, unless of course you count Fedor's past opponents :142smilie

For those looking for a stream for the undercard on FSN then www.justin.tv is best place to look.
Almost guarantee someone will be sharing it on there.
Every UFC fightcard has 5-8 different people sharing those. It might be on www.channelsurfing.net but they just steal it from people sharing on justin.tv so if it is on one then it is on the other.
