when moving money or paying people why not use electronic means; ie. neteller. or others. also does not cost much to have it tracked and registered (registered mail) is $5 or less (worth all of this hassle.)

re: jack and the site, what can i say, I'm cynical and dont take a lot at face value as I've seen so many con jobs in my life and in the papers, and two faced people.......Jack's a good guy from all accounts I'm sure we'd have a great time, but I just don't like cannonizing people, etc like theyre doing us a favor for things theyre MAKING MONEY in a business from, they deserve to, but people in general need to put a front on to grease the people putting food on their tables, I just rarely believe all that I see on the outside, maybe I'm wrong but what can I tell you....this board is good and it kills a lot of time, helps w/capping, etc no question, but frankly I wouldnt care who the owner of the site was and what their personality was, mean, nice, an a-hole etc, the sites content and other posters are what really matters, and just like athletes dont like fans and think they are saps a lot of the time, a lot of business owners think their customers are saps also and should be more grateful they have a livelihood from them, but I'm off my soapbox, I wish my life experiences had caused me to become more of a ****-eyed eternal optimist, but I am coming around slowly but surely

I'm 23, so I guess that is early 20s, but you are typical in that you discount somebody younger's opinion and dismiss it as invalid......I don't 'act like I've been around for years' thats not what Im trying to do, but I've seen a lot of two-faced people (ie my boss in the job i came down here for) and a lot of situations and people that werent as they seemed, this was a GENERAL statement and not geared towards Jack at all........Yeah I surf the net to other forums also, my point was, who cares what site owners act like be it nice, a jerk or indifferent? and if you do surf those sites that you claim, you'd also notice they attempt to 'give a little back' to people in the way of ORGANIZED BY THE SITE poker tournaments, betting contests, etc as a way to show appreication to the customers, just like bars have promotions, but I cant say if it was me I'd do that, the goal is to make as much $ as possible, so why give stuff away I guess.....re: the rooms, I'm not putting anyone in that position on this board I dont want to do that, I'm working on it privately if at all possible.......re: eye candy, I'll take your word I wasnt arguing, I just said from all accounts LV does have massive eye candy especially the pools, but you can sit by a pool anywhere, may as well gamble a little and go around to the scenery if we are not LV vets like yourself, Kosar, Jack, etc

well Dawg, of course business owners and you know this since you own one and I do NOT, need to 'act the part' and cater to the customers, of course and keep them happy, my point is things arent always what they seem on the outside, I'm sure theres people you need to be nice to/cater to that you may not particularly like, but you need to for business, and vice versa, that was my point.....
LOL, I was mainly replying to smart moneys post saying he had a point that was legitimate and everyone else bashed him and acted like this site was the best invention in america since the telephone, of course jack's not greedy and he is a good guy i'm sure, but lets relax about treating people as god's and that they are doing us a favor in certain cases, it's more so the other way around of us doing them a favor by populating the site and it's sportsbooks

Fair enough AR......I didnt mean to imply I've seen it all, I've seen not much compared to you older guys, but also growing up in NY and not South Dakota or bumblef**k, as you know, you see a lot of things, and a lot of people with money who do a lot of stupid/illegal/BS things to make it, and a lot of people in that same vain, and in FLA you see much of the same transient schemers......I know you have to roll with the punches, and I have in some ways, I've taken it too far the other way discrediting too much though, oh well.....

I never said you didnt surf the net, AL......I just said I do also, and to eachs own on what they think is important, I dont even notice the owners attitudes nor care, others might, to me theyre all out for sponsors and $$, and everything else comes second, despite the tap dancing they tell you, how many books have been crooks/slow payed and advertised on several forums over the years...........re: the problems with books, this has been said and it's worth repeating 500 times........if you get into a problem with a book you're an idiot, how many problems do you hear with the top echelon books? almost nill, if you dont use any of the top tier books which I wont name but everyone knows, and you have a problem, you deserve it as harsh as that sounds, if you're a bonus whore etc.........just stick to the big boys and there shouldnt be a problem, people just like getting cute and getting bonuses, promotions, 'softer lines' etc the bottom line is use the cream of the crop books, if people dont they deserve what they get imho

Thought I would let this (thread) go for a minute, always good to find out here you stand with a few people.

In any event, MC is owed every dime he says he is, none of this story is BS. As it goes, I waited the EXACT # of days to pay him as he waited to pay his entry into the contest. I kind of operate that way and for anyone in the golf contest I will forgoe this (procedure) and mail payment out THE DAY the contest is over to prevent any aggravation for Jack, and to be fair. In any event I waited too long, HOWEVER MC, I mailed you a check 2 weeks ago when I said I did :shrug: I sent to the addy and name you gave me. Soooo, I have not been in my actual (not at home) office since Thursday of last week, maybe it was returned?? I can say the check ($150.00) was NOT cashed as of today when I looked at my online banking.

I would be happy to send you an overnight check or transfer immediately to a poker account (assuming I have that site) tomorrow to make this right. I will stop payment on the other check if it hasnt been returned to my office. Please let me know how you want me to handle it.

Nah, there arent any other "excuses". I said I would pay him and I didnt (for a while). I didnt pay him right away and I should have because it turned into this. He hasnt been an asshole at all (unlike the forum police), and he is the only one (maybe Jack) who has any reason to be. The rest of you are just all worked up because(fill in your own blank). Ive had issues with most of you in the past on here so Im not surprised. Hell the guy sent me 4 or 5 emails since I emailed him a couple weeks ago and told him I mailed his check, but I never check that Yahoo addy because its been through the old SPAM ringer and every time I open it there is like 2,000 emails.

My apologies to MJ and MC, sorry you had to come on here MC its obvious you tried to avoid it. Jack asked me to handle it once before and Im sorry I didnt do it then. I actually wrote the check, just never mailed it. :nono:

Note the "once before" as in before I said I mailed it, he contacted Jack about his money. Jack asked me what was up and I said I didnt pay him originally because I was waiting, blah blah, but I would pay it right away because I didnt want Jack getting drug into it. I wrote the check, then sent MC an email because I didnt have his addy. 2 more weeks went by or so till he contacted Jack again and said WTF. That is when I DID mail it. Happy? If not suck it!
