unfortunately, i thought castro was the best by a mile and I can't stand him.

John's was average at best, but Steven Tyler is an icon. John's sang the song too slow. Aerosmiths version is much more sped up and cooler.

Carly Smithson is an absolute pro. Shes just always on key. I'm all but sure she won't win, but she just sounds like a recording artist week after week.

everybody else plain sucked.

Nice to see someone finally got to Brooke and told her to keep her mouth shut for a change. Nice to see Carlye's tattoo again. You would think Simon's insults from 2 weeks ago would have kept it covered from here on out but i guess that was asking for to much. Cook is always fun to look forward to but he stunk up the joint. The country plant is oh so soft on the eyes i could never vote her out and she is getting better every week. The stoner aka Tiny Tim was okay. Black girl to me has been getting a raw deal. Wrong year for her. Archeletta wins this thing. Just listen to those tiny bopers. Who is gonna out dial them? thought MJ did just fine. Nothing spectacular. Looks like Simon had to throw in the IZ comment because of Cooks plagerism. Can't wait till next year. Kosar i get every thing?

Okay, my wrapup essay - I know you've all been waiting...

First off, I thought Castro was the best - a good choice that he pulled off nicely. For the first time, I did not like Cook's song at all - Simon hit it on the head with his indulgent take. Not a good week to be "cool", just need to be motivational and positive.

I find her to be just off the mark every week. She's well put together and a good singer, but will go home in the next couple of weeks. No connection for me.

david cook - innocent by our lady peace
See above. Did not like it at all, no emotional click with the crowd - song was too hard to get into.

carly - show must go on by queen
An ok performance. Good singer, but Queen songs always seem to expose people - she's still top 3, but this was not special.

brooke white - youve got a friend by james taylor
Hated it. Her voice is to hard-edged to sing the folky songs, and she just has no soul showing on them. Skating along, but will go soon, IMO.

dreadlocks - over the rainbow by judgy garland
Did a non-Garland version, really good. Tops of the night for me.

michael johns - dream on by aerosmith
Give him a 10 for level of difficulty, but does not have the voice purity to nail any of the big songs he attempts. Will go home with 4 weeks left, IMO.

kristy lee cook - anyway by martina mcbride
First half of song was weak, second half was strong. Probably will make it through again - what a terrific looking gal - wonder if she'll ever take off the jeans and wear a shorter skirt? Dare to dream.

homo - angels by robbie williams
Thought the piano was a nice change, he sang a great pop song pretty well. Just don't see the hatred for this unassuming kid, he just seems to be real to me, and a really good singer. Top 3, probably in the final, and rightfully so, IMO.

Gun to head, I see Cook, Mercado and White in the bottom 3. Maybe Simon is right that Carly could be in trouble. I'll say Mercado goes home tonight - although I think White is definitely allowable to go.

As far as best pure singing ability no one is better. When you factor in fans voting, looks, and original song is where she falters. But shes a consumate pro.


And chadman, my hatred for archuleta is unlike you, I don't find him real at all. I find him 100 percent fake and his speaking voice and what he says gets me angry all the time. I hate him. Homo is just a reference. He might not know hes gay yet. No offense to you, I know I'm in the minority with the rest of the country.

And don't be surprised if no one goes home like the idol gives back last year. If Carly was in fact last in voting then they definitely could pull this card. If its syesha then maybe they will boot her.

Michael John and for what its worth i disagree with everyone and think he did a decent job on Tuesday. Stunning turn of events oh and of course before the show got started another huge poster to show off Archeletta. Instead of saying how terrific he is why not just jump on stage and blow him. This show is getting like wrestling or better yet the NBA.

I guess I'm about the only one holding out any positivity for this group - I still think that a few of these kids will be on the scene in the coming years. I agree, I don't necessarily see Archuleta's niche, but the kid can really sing - another nice one last night. I wasn't as wowed as most on the David Cook performance - listening to it as a possible single just didn't get me - although his take on it was pretty cool. I thought Castro was really good again, and Kristy Lee did pretty well again.

If Brooke doesn't go home tonight, I don't know what to say. She is not nearly good enough to continue, but I've said that for three weeks now. Syesha did better than both Brooke and Carly last night, I thought, and Carly has lost her edge with the fans now.

I predict Brooke to go, again.

The Corporate Press can make a star out of anyone they want. :mj07: Oh wrong forum. I am very disapointed in Brooke. For awhile I thought it was song selection but it has been like 6 weeks now. She doesn't seem to push herself. Also, maybe something a little more upbeat is due by her.
I didn't get the David Cook thing at all. I understand his brother has brain cancer and was in the first row last night. It may have had something to do with it. :shrug:
Kristi still looks hot and the girl with the tattos looke a million times better with her arm covered JMHO.

Carly should still be there

No way Carly Smithson should have gotten the boot last night. Not based on this weeks performances...or based on the cumulative season. Especially not with Brooke White and Jason Castro still hanging around after their weak performances on Tuesday. However, Brooke's fans probably realized she needed them this week and voted strong. Jason has some type of following that I still can't figure out.

Good bye to 30 shares of Carly Smithson. Not that I thought she'd win but I did think she could join the two David's in the final three and make a little money by selling half then. By the way, Cook has over taken Archuletta as the favorite at most books now...and rightfully so.

Still unhappy that Brooke hasn't gone home - she just looks like she's going to have a breakdown each night...and she simply has not been that good for awhile. A joke, IMO, that Carly went home already, she was not deserving of that.

Cook and Archuleta - again, IMO - were best of the show. For all the griping about Archuleta he still has never been close to the worst performance on any of the nights, and continues to do a good job, But Cook is terrific on unique performances, and pulling off an operatic song with real tone in his voice was really something, to me.

I don't know what you all see in Cook. He hasn't impressed me yet. Bo way Carly goes home last night. Castro has had a couple of bad weeks in a row and Brooke has to break out of that singer-songwriter role and let loose. At least once. I thought the girl that I thought Shesia was the best of the night.
