Actually, when you look at this pic, it looks as though Green had to strip down to make the weight!

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=287910584962&set=a.287910529962.43089.83612869962

Johnsson seems to be just fine, just a bit more ripped which might be a good thing!
He also came in 1 lbs under 168!
Toney did that vs. Jones as well, but usually thats a good sign!

I liked Johnson before and I like him even more now!

I also like Rees and Lopez straight and by ko!

IMO he looks ok!

Byrd is a different story IMO!

:toast:

BTW, I'm temtped to go against Judah, the guy can be erratic and his opponent is no pushover!

Excellent post Quanah :0074. I have my big play on Johnson. Haven't seen anything in Green to make me think he can get past the Road Warrior. If Johnson loses, I believe it will be a result of all his ring wars and age finally catching up. I don't think Green is good enough to expose the old man.

I have a small amt on Zab. Would be bigger if the odds were better. I agree that Zab is in the best place mentally that he has ever been him. Hope he has enough in the tank to get by Matthysse. No question in my mind that Matthyse is going to be a handful and then some. These Argentinians are tough bastards and Zab better be prepared to fight all 12 rds.

Very well said on Lopez. I think the fight will pretty much play out as you mentioned. I haven't hit it...yet.

Good luck :toast:

Thanks Romi. Good luck on your plays today. I think Johnson's gonna get it done. :toast:

Johnson doesn't look the best but he didn't look the best in his last fight either. Overall he's just more of a fighter than Green. I would be pretty surprised if Green won this fight,

I highly doubt Green can KO Johnson, and he doesn't throw enough punches to win a decision.

He has an excuse every fight (win or lose). He was embarrassed by Ward and beaten down by Edison Miranda. Edison freakin Miranda!

What is Green's best win? Codrington? Simms? He has feasted on ancient ESPN contenders.

The guy is totally full of shit.

Johnson's last two fights he destroyed Yusef Mack (who would probably beat Green), and he fought on even terms with Cloud (a killer) for 8 rounds.

Glen would have to fall off the grand canyon overnight to lose to a guy this shitty. Green doesn't belong in the Super Six - back to Oklahoma bingo casinos after tonight.

My bets:

Hyland +185
(better amateur pedigree and more proven as a pro...chance he gets KO'ed but odds are nice)

Matthysse +175
(really depends on the first 4 rounds - if the guy can hang, things will get interesting)

JuanMa parlayed to Geale (last week)

Glen Johnson LARGE

Other fights:
I think Guerrero will win, but I can't bet on a guy that looked that shitty against Casamayor. What was that?

I watched footage of Rees' opponent and he doesn't look that bad. Never been a Rees fan. He wins in Wales, but no play for me.

The South African fight seems like a complete tossup/split decision waiting to happen. No thanks.

Good luck everyone. Big fight night - Big November.

I'm upping my Johnson wager based on collective opinion. I think you guys are right. Who has Green beaten? And his last performance was just so dreadful. As long as Johnson applies steady pressure, something he has always done, it should be too much.

Also, I don't think Guerrero is getting enough credit for essentially outclassing Casamayor. It did seem that if he applied himself he could've gotten the KO, but I don't remember Casa ever getting beaten so soundly. I think it was, overall, a steady and professional performance. Escobedo will fight hard and provide a stern test.

Good luck guys!

i agree that green has looked terrible practically every time he stepped up....he`s lethargic and gets discouraged easily.....but he doesn`t usually go away...and this is 12,from what i`m reading...

i had to hedge my par based on the biafran-like appearance...

btw...i actually think chris byrd was carrying more muscle...but those eyes!.... :142smilie

it`s 12...very curious to see how johnson`s activity level holds at 168 over 12....at his normal weight,i ride with johnsonwith bells on at -160......but he hasn`t seen super middle in 10 years...

g.l. to glen...

Good luck everyone. Big fight night - Big November.

:toast: Could not agree more! :toast:

Nice weekend so far as Stephane Jamoye won again his opponent. For the rest of the weekend, I share the "general" oppinon on most of the favorites: Johnson should get it done, maybe even by late stoppage, the same for Rees. Lopez inside.

In addition I did some parlays and I got some nice draw odds for all fights this weekend. Regarding "underdogs" - have some small/mid amounts on Oosthuizen and Matthysse (maybe evenby late stoppage)...

Good luck to the Crew!

Cheers

Not wild about the line -250 over 9 1/2 but I don't see Guerrero/Esc ending too soon. The Ghost hasn't really carried his pop up to 135. He's better than avg power wise but not exactly devastating. Kat banged on Esco all night and Esco hung in pretty tough. I don't think Guerrero is as busy or powerful as Kats. Guerero is too inconsistent for me to wager on. I thought Casa was a dead man walking and Guerrero showed wayy too much respect. Guerrero SHOULD win but not confidentenough to wager. I see this as being a hard, closely fought distance fight. I'm going to play the over...med wager.
