Scoring fights ... It's a matter of opinion

Scoring fights ... It's a matter of opinion

This decision was every bit as bad as Funeka-Guzman. Awefull decision.

Looked like a very close fight to me. I picked Coleman and when I have taken a position on a guy I tend to give the benefit of the doubt in the either-way rounds (rounds when there is an argument to be made for either guy) to the opposing fighter, and I had this as a draw, 114-114. There were rounds where Arnaoutis was moving in but not pulling the trigger. At the end, neither man knew who won, you could see that by their body language. (There was none of that throwing their arms aloft or climbing up on the ropes post-fight stuff.) There were rounds that, to me, Coleman definitely won that Wally Matthews was giving to Arnaoutis. It was like Wally got stuck in a scoring groove after the second round.

I did think that Coleman got a break when Arnaoutis got cut in the last round. This clearly affected Arnaoutis, his boxing technique fell apart and Coleman was able to close strongly and, for me, he pulled out a draw. Throw in one of the either-way rounds in Coleman's favour and you've got a 115-113 win for Coleman.

When a commentary worries me (too one-sided) I usually mute the sound as low as I can without losing the atmosphere as it helps me to tune out the commentary. Considering the fight was in New York and Arnaoutis was the house fighter, I wasn't expecting Coleman to get this decision after such a close bout, but he did. I'll say this for him -- when Arnaoutis suffered the cut, Coleman immediately noted his opponent's distress and went in banging, and I would guess that Coleman won the fight on the last round. ... One judge agreed with you and Wally, Mayorga... it's just a matter of opinion.

Good take, Graham. I also turned down the volume while Chevy Chase's Xmax Vacation was on on the duel screen. I thought Colemen edged out many close rounds. He looked sharper to me even though he let Arnaoutis back in the fight in the middle rounds. When I turned the Rosen and Matthews crew back on after the fight I was shocked they had it at 118-110. I didn't know Coleman would win but I felt it would be very narrow one way or the other.

Gotta like Carson Jones' chances tonight
Brunson has a "Victor Oganov" type of record
Love the OVER 6.5 in this one

No , very even fight so far , I would give a slight edge to Gutknecht cuz he is trying more but it's anybody's fight IMO .
11th round next ...

Thx brain.

would maybe bet a few bugs on the dog... I do not think he gets it on points, but in-fight you get very often some crasy lines ;)
