Boxing 12/7 - 12/11

roughly a year or two ago,khan was ducking maidana like the ebola virus...
then khan beats up on series of either smallish,punchless or old(or all of the above) fighters while maidana struggles during a tune-up fight with an old demarcus corley...of course he also loses a b.s. decision to kotelnik in germany(kotelnik does have an iron chin...tough guy)and whacks a dangerous pair of victors(cayo and ortiz)....
i guess the addition of roach and the poor performance of maidana vs corley was enough to get khan to sack up....
whatever...what i`m reading is that this is a foregone conclusion....and the odds reflect that(anywhere from around +250 to almost 300).....
i don`t think this is anywhere near a foregone conclusion....especially on a neutral...
after the prescott debacle,which opponent actually had a legit chance to hurt khan?....
i don`t see that guy...
i think that in the real world,maidana is still undefeated...and his resume is much more impressive than khan`s...particularly given that the guy isn`t afraid to fight tough opponents on the road....
maybe i`m way off....i felt as though i was jobbed in mma the week before last costing me a huge payoff....i apologize for losing my cool regarding that issue....and i had a lousy week this past week....
so maybe i`m finishing the year on a downward spiral...but based on what i`m seeing,i think maidana is a very live dog....a dangerous dog ....for all 12 rounds....of course,i`m trying to keep an open mind.....i can be dissuaded...
i`ll be curious to see how khan approaches this fight...whether he`ll strictly fight off the back foot...or actually trust his chin and power....

Just my opinion.
I think Khan slaughters Maidana within 4 rounds.
Khan is too quick and will hit Maidana with punches he doesn't see coming.
When Maidana is hurt, he just keeps slugging, I expect Khan to crack him in between punches.

I also think Khan is the class in this race. I guess this is what may be referred to a guy having a "punchers chance". Margarito may have been viewed as such, but the cream always rises to the top. As -300 and change is beyond my limits, a round prop is my only play, if I can wrap my head around that. Not sure who, but I think I see a stoppage as this shapes up to be a brawl. Khan with a 70% KO ratio and Maidana with a sick 90% KO ratio, I see bombs away. Khan probably has the more polished approach to pugilistic pursuits, but I don't think Maidana gives a rats rear end. I believe Maid is a head-hunter and will go balls to the wall to demolish this guy. Won't go the distance, if I can find that in Vegas. I'll be down at Mandalay before the week is out. But seeing as how I crashed and burned with the Marquez bet and I would have bet Antillion if I could find a line here, I'm probably wrong, AGAIN!

A lot of boxing guys talk tough and act crazy, but I get the impression that Derek Chisora isn't acting, that he really is a certified nut job (Ike Ibeabuchi style). He just looks crazy to me, like he could be put behind bars for life at any time. I certainly wouldn't want to meet the guy in a dark alley.

Also Cedric Boswell vs. Owen Beck on the card.
I like Boswell, and want to see him get one more chance before it's over for him. He does have some skills. He had Jameel McCline beat clear a few years back before hitting the wall in the 12th.
All and all, a pretty damn solid card. Cuban heavy Luis Ortiz also in action, he's one to watch.
