even if hatton wasn`t self delusional and realized that he was an extreme longshot to beat a bigger,quicker,all-round better top pfp mayweather, did you really, seriously expect hatton to say,"i`ll probably lose to mayweather?...he`s bigger, quicker and just all-round better than me"?...

was that a serious comment?....

what fighter have you ever heard come out and say,"i know i`m outclassed, but i`ll give it the old college try"?.........

you expect them to "think/hope" they`ll win...and unless they want to get hit in the head with a shovel by the promoter, they`re certainly gonna say,"i`m gonna win"....

honestly, other than a few brits who may have been thinking with their hearts, very few objective, knowledgable boxing fans thought hatton was winning that fight..he fought hard...that`s what he was paid to do..

it was hatton vs a prime, pfp, razor quick mayweather...not an old, worn down,yo-yo weight deprived,i.v. dripped dlh vs pacquaio....

lets cut through the semantics...are you guys saying that you think hatton`s chances against pacquaio are about the same as his chances against mayweather?....

i see why folks think that manny will win...but,hatton`s chances are much better against manny than they were against mayweather,imo...

just look at the perception of knowledgable boxing fans on this board...

manny was life and death vs marquez...but most on here believe that marquez vs mayweather is a potential mismatch....

one person stated he expected floyd to be a 4-1 favorite...

Just read the last sentence in my previous post. I doubt either one of us are in his head, but you claiming he didn't truly think he'd win because he was the betting underdog? :mj07:

and(as much as i love him) i give marquez even less of a chance...

Ok, now we're on the same page. I just believe Ricky really thought he'd win. Whether he actually did or not...

I agree 100% on Marquez Floyd. I think even a rusty Floyd should handle it.

The general public has a different opinion of Pacquiao's fight with Oscar than some people in the industry. The public thinks Manny is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and didn't give as much value to Oscar's weight problem. On the street, people you meet say there is nobody who can beat Pacquiao.

I put a lot of value on it (Oscar's weight problem). In Pacquiao's last two fights against bigger guys, he looked great. But David Diaz is the slowest man I have ever seen in my life, and Oscar was ridiculously unhealthy. If Oscar had trained the way he normally does and then he lost, I'd say okay, that shows Pacquiao can beat bigger guys. You can't fault Pacquiao for winning, but we have created him a lot bigger than some people think he is. Look at Pacquiao's last two fights with Marquez. In each instance, if you take away one of the (Pacquiao) knockdowns, Pacquiao loses. (Actually, Marquez would have won the first fight, and the second would have been a draw)

Ricky is a fast, strong fighter. Size does make a difference. That's why we have all these different weight divisions. Ricky is naturally strong at 140, and Pacquiao is a good 135-pound fighter. Mayweather may well be the best defensive trainer in history, and what he is teaching could make it more difficult for Pacquiao.

I see the fight as a close one, nip and tuck all the way. If I was a betting man, I'd have to give a slight edge to Ricky. Ricky is just a bigger guy. Manny is a tremendous puncher, but we don't know what effect his punch will have against a 140 pound boxer.

In Ricky's fight with Floyd (Mayweather Jr.), Ricky got aggravated at the ref and was not focused. Floyd took advantage of that. You saw a much more controlled Ricky Hatton for his last fight with Malignaggi.

People talk about Pacquiao's speed, but Ricky's speed is going to surprise you. He has pretty good hand speed and footwork. At some point in the fight Ricky is going to start muscling him, and that could be a problem for Pacquiao. Manny likes to move in and slash and move out, and it will be more difficult to do that with Hatton than he thinks.

The crowd for this fight will be unbelievable. We're going to see an international explosion of emotions. I'm very excited. It's going to be a genuine 'big fight.' You have the entire European world market, as well as the Asian. You have two guys who are great for boxing. Pacquiao loves to be in the limelight and share his time and money with people. Ricky is the same kind of guy. These are fighters people can relate to. We are blessed to have them.

Maybe Steward can pick fights better than he can train boxers...but I don't think so....

That's Steward and Atlas both picking Hatton....Ricky is fuked.....

Bummer.
No Jacobs vs. Walker odds.
Hopefully by Saturday.

I want all these Stalker Walker fans over at the boxrec forums to put their money where their mouth is.

I'm not impressed with a DRAW against Atwon Echols.

I think McDermott might have a chance on Saturday against Danny Williams

He is a big underdog (depending on the site anywhere from +200 to +350).

The first fight was close, and McDermott had Williams out on his feet twice. Williams has also been KO'ed since that fight by Sosnowski.

McDermott is a fat slob. He is slow and soft to the body. But he can punch and he is determined to beat Williams. and the biggest factor - Williams has a bad chin and is a shot fighter.

I'll take a shot on the doggy.

I'm on McDermott (for the reasons mentionned above) and on Irving Garcia, I dont see why he would be a 5-1 underdog against Abregu.

Antilion, Caballero and Alverado might very well end their fights under x.5 rounds, but I dont like the odds....

Quintero seems like a decent bet too, but I dont know a lot of Ferguson and -200 is a bit wide for my liking...

I think Quintero will win
but Graham does mention there is a "chin" question from those in the know
I'm afraid to bet a prospect with a chinny chin chin, even though I don't think Ferguson will be the one to expose it

I was stunned how Abregu fell apart down the stretch against a totally faded version of Estrada

clearly this guy is not the one punch killer they have been selling him as

I'm seeing value in the under 5.5 in the Menzer fight in Germany. There is a big difference in class here. Alcanter is an older woman and she knows what it is like to be stopped. Menzer can be quite merciless if an outclassed opponent is in front of her. Normally these female fights go the distance but I don't think this one will. I make this a five-round fight. It seems to be worth a tickle at plus numbers.

ok, obviously there is some concern about his chin, there is a nice article at fightnews on Quintero, he claims that he had both trouble with his weight and withs his healt when he was stopped, but that loss still doesnt look good...

however, I think he will win....
