ok, obviously there is some concern about his chin, there is a nice article at fightnews on Quintero, he claims that he had both trouble with his weight and withs his healt when he was stopped, but that loss still doesnt look good...

however, I think he will win....

The reason I think he will win still
is that Ferguson is not a banger and Cherry demolished him
still a tough call

I'm seeing value in the under 5.5 in the Menzer fight in Germany. There is a big difference in class here. Alcanter is an older woman and she knows what it is like to be stopped. Menzer can be quite merciless if an outclassed opponent is in front of her. Normally these female fights go the distance but I don't think this one will. I make this a five-round fight. It seems to be worth a tickle at plus numbers.

Have you by any chance seen Alcanter!?

I was thinking about the under myself.
Alcanter has been stopped by Mrdjenovich but that was @130 lbs, I dont know though if those 4 lbs will make much of a difference...she really looks old and hasnt been active lately...Menzer doesnt punch hard, but I can see a doctor or referee stoppage in the middle rounds...

McD/Williams is no longer up @ the greek. Wonder why??? I have a pretty good amt on McD to pull the upset @+300. I think its a 50/50 fight. McD wants it bad and with Williams you get a 280lb box of chocolates...you just never know what you're going to get.

Replying to Zerwas re. Alcanter.

I haven't seen her, and she was stopped at a heavier weight, true, but I think that by the middle of the fight Menzer's superior class should tell. I agree that 5.5 (2-minute) rounds isn't much to work with, though.

my plays

-caba/math under 10 1/2 -165 - Caba too much here IMO for the SA.

-McD +300 - live doggie, good odds

-Alexeeve under 5 1/2 -125 - despite the surprise ko loss, Alexeeve still a solid prospect and I think he overwhelms the guy Sam Soliman put down

-Alvarado under 7 1/2 -180 - Alvarado looking like the goods in his last few fights. Can't see Galardo going too many rds

-Gomez/buendia over 9 1/2 -120. Both have decnt beards and I think it goes 10 unless Cotto ruined Gomez

-Moreno -185 - IMO he clearly beat Sid in the 1st go 8 rds to 4. He's had 2 fights since while Sid has been idle. If he gets fair judging again, I believe he wins

-Burton over 8 1/2 -165 - a rematch that went the 6th rd distance previously.

-pac/hat under 10 1/2 +110, and ITD -150 -does anybody see this going the distance?

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY! Hopefully we'll be as fortunate as last week.

Speaking of Alekseev - I finally watched that debacle with Ramirez.

I still can't believe that guy beat him - Alekseev was WAY up on the cards and just totally folded - quickly. The corner pulled him out, but he was def. going to get stopped.

Ramirez is a tough guy - super durable - but I think most of the other cruisers beat him. I think Afolabi will decision him easy if they fight (its scheduled I believe).

Still angry at Alekseev, but I think he destroys Alexander here. What the hell is this Contender chump doing fighting at cruiser?

Anyone taking Buendia over Gomez? There's no vids available of him unfortunately, but Im tempted to bet anyone against Gomez at +450. Plus Gomez has been out for a year, unusual for him.

I am NJ
I think the same thing about Gomez here
that I did about Julio Diaz against Rolando Reyes

Gomez shouldn't be favored that big against
anyone in the world

Buendia may lose, but at +450 it's a no brainer
Gomez eats punches for breakfast

most likely a Gomez decision-hopefully a Buendia one

Thx Ghost, glad to see we're on the same page :toast:

Wish there were some vids to watch, but I'll take a small play nonetheless.

I heard that Buendia gave the very tough Soto Karass ALL he could handle. If not for Karass' iron chin, Buendia could have taken him. Unfortately, I heard that afterI placed a wager on the over :mj07: I still think it goes 10 but who knows what's left of Gomez after the vicious beating he took from Cotto. Anywhos's, I agree the line is skewed and Buendia is live.

"the bunker"
might do a small buendia/gomez over and a menzer/alcanter under par getting 3.3-1....

menzer looked big in comparison....and that says something when you`re pale as a ghost and the other fighter`s extremely tanned...

menzer must be a good deal bigger..graham got my attention...
