One More Round with Mark Lyons: Predictions for Malignaggi/Khan, Ortiz/Campbell, etc...
http://www.theboxingbulletin.com/2010/5/10/1466483/one-more-round-with-mark-lyons

Will Victor Ortiz Quit Again Against Nate Campbell?
http://www.onlinesportshandicapping...r-ortiz-quit-again-against-nate-campbell.html

Fight Picks Analysis: Victor Ortiz was a highly touted amateur that was expected to be on his way to professional superstardom until he ran into the crushing fists of Marcos Maidana. Unfortunately Ortiz is not the type of lion hearted man that can overcome adversity in the ring. When Ortiz is in against a lesser opponent he can look downright awesome but when his foes have enough skill to be competitive and fight back, he is just another guy.

Ortiz can throw every punch in the book from his southpaw stance but his defense isn?t anything special either. Ortiz does not show much rhythm in the ring and he relies far too much on just covering up with his gloves for defense. Ortiz really isn?t a great counterpuncher and when he does get tagged his face is susceptible to cuts and swells

Weasel I am totally with you on Ortiz Ortiz will be to big and strong and if Nate wings his punches like he did against Funeka Ortiz will put him on his ass
Ortiz is a pretty gifted fighter who holds all the aces in this one.
Amir Khan is whupping Paulies behind Ortiz wins against old Nate and Mitchell will beat Kasidits (probably by knock out, he has very nice timing and Kasidis can be timed).
good luck

Mayorga +400 in his MMA debut
anyone biting?
:mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

fucking clown is going to get his arm grabbed within 1 minute....tap tap tap

How is Din Thomas Ghost? I scanned his record quickly, and he's definitely an experienced guy. Seems like a tough prospect for Mayorga's MMA debut.

in my opinion WAY too tough Quanah for a debut in MMA
they needed to find him some banger that would stand up the whole fight (and even then he might have trouble)
but Thomas knows what he is doing on the ground and he has fought Guida....Florian....Stephens.... BJ Penn for christ sake !
I see no reason this doesn't go right to the ground and Mayorga will tap out, get his arm broken, or get DQ'ed for some illegal BS.
I would be very surprised if Thomas stood and fought Mayorga....and even then he might have a shot...

Any chance Mayorga could tag him, in that first 30 seconds when it's a fistfight? There's definitely a drastic difference in boxing ability - just straight stand up punching - between boxers and MMA guy's, but then the 'boxing match' never lasts very long. I've seen a number of MMA fights get stopped in that first 30 second fistfight though...

I'm a boxing purist for sure, and it's hard for me to admit that MMA is, overall, a superior fighting techinique...but I supporse that in a lot of ways it is...because it incorporates all techniques. I have thought alot about how a good-real boxer would fare against good MMA guy's - and now it looks like we will soon find out. I still think, at this point, that a guy's ability to striaght up stand and fight, accounts for a lot...we'll see.

I consider Mayorga a 'good' boxer. Frans Botha not so much. Howz about Mercer flattening Sylvia in 9 seconds? Although both were well past their prime, there was an example of pure punching overpowering. Also James Toney vs. Randy Couture will be really intriguing if it comes off. There is a real test of boxer vs. MMA.

I'm gonna go ahead and stick my neck out brutha, side with the boxing purist in me, and put a bit on Mayorga to lay this dude flat. :box2:

go for it man
I'll be rooting for you
what you are saying makes a lot of sense
Mayorga is wild and can punch hard
he could flatten him man
The fight starts on the feet....as Mercer proved that gives any boxer a shot
I think odds are that Thomas wins (obviously has a few more routes to victory)
but I'll put it to you like this
I am parlaying a few fighters in MMA this weekend
and Din Thomas ain't one of them

I'm a boxing purist as well man
I enjoy MMA, but if they banned boxing I would wander the earth, a man lost
