My plays so far..

My plays so far..

Antwone Smith +110- Medium play. He is younger, busier (throws more punches per round), fights more often and welterweight is a better weight for him than Gutierrez who is fighting more at jr middle lately. I see UD for Smith.

McCall + Gonzalez + Baker- Parlay Medium play

Not alot of plays out there with value...

Considering Over 9.5-110 for the Gutierrez Vs. Smith. Gutierrez went the distance with Joshua Clottey and Smith seems pretty durable in the few fights on FNF that I have seen of him. What do you guys think?

my bets for the weekend:

currently I have some money on the Underdogs,

Kelley,Boyle,Francisco Mendoza,McDermott

as I got for all of them very nice lines. :)
(those betfair guys are sometimes crasy, but I do not complain about that.)

Additionatly I did some Parlays on the dogs. (on the ones above+some future dogs) + I spend some money on a few draws at extremly high odds, but I do not think that those will work out, but the bet should definatly be a "value" bet.

So until now not that much action, but very nice risk/return bets, maybe I will do some more but let?s wait and see. :0corn

Good luck to all of us :toast:

Escobedo should get by Kelly but the line is crazy. And I haven't seen an over/under on it. Has anyone seen an O/U on this?

I haven't seen Antwone Smith, matt, but i like your parlay a lot. I'm gonna tag along there.

I also agree with Lord's Mendoza play. Who knows what Rafi has left? He probably wins easy in Mexico, but those were 3 of the most brutal fights I have ever seen (with Vasquez).

Hey, it's cool that you grab every underdog. Even if only a small amount hit, you'll make a profit. And usually you can expect to have a couple of upsets every weekend. Nice!

It really depens on the odd, but if I think the odd offers some value than I take it, and if I find "a lot" of them then I do a Parlay. You are right I do only spend a limited amount of money (only if the odd is by far to good more) but in general as long as only one dos wins I make some money out of all the dog bets =)

The same for draws, I love to play them.

That is in general my "betting style" I e.g. rather spend 10times 10$ at a line on +1000 then spending 100$ on a line of +100 even if the overall prop. would be the same to win. If you do so you can reduce your "event" risk e.g. fraud,sickness,dehydration...

but lets wait and see how this weekend will be, I have a feeling this will maybe not a dog weekend but how knows?

Here's a blurb from Wikipedia on John Hopoate who is fighting Oliver McCall on friday in Vegas.

The former Rugby player apparently will do anything to gain an advantage in competition.

Here it is:

During a 2001 clash with the North Queensland Cowboys, Hopoate, in an attempt to unsettle several of his opponents, inserted his fingers in three players' anuses, the first occurring during the seventh minute of play. At the conclusion of the match the matter was immediately referred to the rugby league judiciary where a case was put forward from both sides on 28 March. Hopoate claimed in front of the panel of judges that he was simply attempting to give all three players "a wedgie"[3] with his fingers, denying he had done anything wrong and that he was "a great believer in what happens on the field should stay there"[4].

The three victims in the case, Cowboys players Glenn Morrison, Peter Jones and Paul Bowman all disagreed with the reasoning put forward by Hopoate and his team with Jones stating "It wasn't a wedgie. That's when your pants are pulled up your arse. I think I know the difference between a wedgie and someone sticking their finger up my bum"[5] and Bowman saying that he was "disgusted" and "couldn't believe it"[6]. As a result of this incident, radio comedy duo Roy and HG referred to him as stink finger, until he began his professional boxing career when they changed this to 'Stink Fist'.

Kelly should not be in the ring anymore, it's an accident waiting to happen. Who doesn't love the dogs but some selectiveness is required. The only possibility of a Kelly win is some type of DQ like the Soto-Joe Cortez fiasco. Kelly seems like a decent guy that could do some fight commentating.

Last weekend was doggy crazy
but I don't see too many I like this weekend

I don't give Kelly any chance here...I think he is farther gone that Hernandez. And, even though it was competitive, Famoso took quite a beating against Escobedo.

Yeah, Kelly should retire but I was looking for an O/U because of the possibility of an Escobedo win inside the distance.

Thanks, btw what do you think about the over 5.5 -130 in the Marquez vs Mendoza fight? I think this fight might go a few rounds here and be more competitve than the sportsbooks are giving Mendoza credit for.

Good Luck this weekend!

My plays

-McCall-huge play for about -210 avg. Hopo is a glorified tough man competitor. I am surprised at the generous odds and will be more surprised if Hopo pulls the upset.

-Jhonny Gonzo -210 lrge. Fight is in Mexico. As long as Gonzo doesn't get caught, he wins.

I'm considering a couple other plays. Bodog is a bit slow this week on releasing the boxing bets.

Any truth to the rumor McCall wore a metal plate around the old poop shoot @ the weigh in?

Still no over/under line on Esco/Kelly. My guess would be even odds 5 1/2 rds.

Enjoy the card Matt.

FNFs comes to my home town of San Jose next mnth with the Ghost taking on Gamboas whipping boy.

I'm not sure. My guess is he is going to make it over that, but I really haven't seen Mendoza fight. Making my judgment strictly on box rec.
The Over-Under bets have been biting me in the ass lately - I am going to stick to straight winners this week.

Good luck to us on the parlay!

Hilarious interview with McCall at eastsideboxing.com:

J.S: It's been great speaking with you, champ. We wish you best wishes for the May 22nd fight......
Wish Elijah good luck for his fight, too. And thank your brother Frank for setting up this interview, Oliver.

O.M: Okay. There's another thing I want to say. I want [Chris] Arreola next. He's a pussy, and I want him for my next fight! Make sure you put that down!

J.S: Okay, thanks, Oliver.

O.M: Thank you. You have a blessed day.
