Cintron was supposed to be a really good wrestler at one point.
His boxing career will soon be over sooooooooo

Maybe he was trying out for the UFC and showing them his tremendous double leg take-down??? :mj07: :mj07:

I just rewatched the fight.
and they said in case of an accidental headbutt the scorecards will be used to determine the winner after 4 rounds are completed.

Now, I dont know, how this is any different than an accidental headbutt (if he cant continue it doesnt matter IMO), or if they were simply wrong about the rules...

Anyways, all I was saying is, that I dont think it makes sense for a fight to go to the cards after 3 rounds and a few seconds!

As for the fight:
I think Williams looked flat, he wasnt sharp. Cintron looked comfortable in there, and I think he was doing better than a lot of guys expected.
I had him winning, but at the very least you have got to say that it was very competetive.

Cintron falling out of the ring looked strange, it didnt look quite as strang though, if you dont see it in slowmotion.

I dont think he took a dive! Maybe I didnt make this clear earlier: I dont think he could have done this intentionnally, as everything happend so quickly and it definetely wasnt to be expeted...

I think he could have tried to get up though! Maybe he tought he wouldnt be 100% if he got up and decided to go on...
Its hard to tell though...

i love everyone here...but i think sometimes we let out personal feelings get the better of our objective judgement....

yes,cintron caught a break vs martinez...with that i agree...

but that redneck on the video?...he`s a clown...

you guys really think that cintron "jumped" out of the ring to avoid continuing in a fight he was winning(or even with totally shitty scoring was dead even)?....

this fight(unfortunately)was going much, much better than i had ever anticipated for cintron...that`s an honest opinion from a guy with money on williams...

could he have gotten back up?..who knows......i didn`t hit the table.....same could have been said for bhop vs allen...

oooooo.kkkkk.,.no sense beating a dead horse...it is what it is....not a big deal.....on to next week...:toast:

I don't know what happened last night GW...it probably was just a 1 in a million type of freak accident... but watching that youtube video had to be one of the funnniest things I have ever seen. My objectivity completely flew out of the ring :142smilie after listening to that dudes comments :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:. It was like that punk thug in Tyson's corner when he bit Oldy. He was asked why Tyson bit Oldy and in a high pitched voice he replied "he (Holyfield) jomped up like a beeeech."

GW you are my brother
but if you don't think Cintron took a dive out of that ring, after everything we have seen from this guy in his career,
the "freak" incidents time and time again, if you think that was a legit trip from the ring all the way to the floor....man...i can't help

I got some great land I want to sell you....and a real "hot" stock.....trust me...we can't lose

Cintron is a phony !

You're still my dude, but this act of Kermit's is getting old and is as transparent as it gets

Kermit Cintron "They reverse it or I'm through with boxing"

He actually said it. The guy who pulled off one of the biggest heists in boxing history by convincing the ref he was headbutted when he was hit by a legit shot, is now saying he'll quit the sport if they don't reverse the decision. Not this time dude. Maybe he did hit his head when he fell or the punches are finally catching up to him...
the audacity to imply that HE had a fight stolen from him. Graham will have his hands full commenting on this fiasco. Boxing is indeed the theatre of the unexpected.

The Real Clown Prince

The Real Clown Prince

I want to make one more point regarding Cintron:

For the people that say
"Why would Cintron do a crazy thing like that....he was winning the fight! Surely he wouldn't jeopardize such a big win?"

Come on guys, that's WHY HE DID IT !

He was having a solid few rounds (I had him up 3 to 1, but it could easily have been 2 to 2. Only clear round was PWill round 4).

But, as HBO pointed out, the tide was turning in the end of rnd 3 and BIG TIME in rnd 4. The distance was shortening and it was becoming a fight Kermit is VERY uncomfortable in. It doesn't mean he couldn't win this type of fight, but it was going to be difficult on both guys and Kermit, we know from past history, does NOT LIKE TO GO THERE.

Margarito both fights, Angulo in the final round, Sergio Martinez, hell even Feliciano had him REALLY stressed. THE GUY CAN'T FIGHT WELL when he is crowded and CAN'T SET THE PACE. We know this. Watch the tapes! Pressure makes him pee.

Cintron is like the kid we all went to high school with who has to take the final exams in a separate room alone, because if people are next to him he sweats. He over thinks. He can't focus and his mind runs crazy! Did anyone ever believe that kid in school ! Hell no ! But he got away with it test after test. It's a sympathy card. This guy is the queen of "bad luck" incidents. He doesn't deserve any more shots. But he will get them for sure - because the ending was "inconclusive" and Kermit "was robbed of his chance". It's all bullshit !

Kermit knew this might be an easy 4 round tech decision. And he almost got it.

It's like Mayweather said "This is the prizefighting business. We fight for the prize. You fuking dummy!"

Cintron is guaranteed more money now. Bottom line. And he gets it for 3 and half rounds of decent work. He gets another VERY significant payday now. For being a grade A fool.

When the going gets tough, hey make up something crazy ! He's done it before several times ! And it always works ! If you allow a kid to slide by in school, will he study harder? No way ! Cheating is WAY easier.

Again, it doesn't mean he couldn't WIN this type of fight. He has (Estrada and Angulo). But if he can find an easier way, he does. Plain and simple. His "headbutt" excuse against Martinez was so out of nowhere, and the reaction so strange, the REF ACTUALLY BOUGHT IT. But he has actually found a way to top his own act. Amazing.

It's all some sort of strange sideshow for Kermit. A traveling theatrical play that he changes each time out. The guy is a better Jorge Paez. The real "clown prince" of boxing. Coming to a town near you.

Of course because he thought he was UP ON THE CARDS! And realistically, he probably was ! I thought it was 2 to 2, or 3 to 1 Cintron. But the heat was turning up for both guys.

It's all such an unbelievable act....I can't believe time after time he has people buying into it...

He was trying to score a quick win ! 100 %

I hope he quits. He's a fucking dancing queen.

respect your opinion bud...just like i had disagreements with my own brother(much worse actually...lol),it was always like nothing happened the next day...

that`s what`s so great about this place....bunch of degenerate gamblers and boxing fiends can disagree and move on to the next event....

when i moved back to maryland after living in new jersey for a number of years(where my interest in the game went to the next level),nobody back home knew anything about,or much less cared one whit about boxing...aside from my brother and father,it was a boxing no mans land...

now they`re gone...but i found the internet(and this place) and i`m like a speed freak that found a bag of crossroads...it`s a a pressure valve for me...

lord,if you can`t disagree and kick the shit with your buds, what`s the sense in having buds?.....
don`t ever take my disagreement with anyone alse on the board as a personal issue...it`s in the moment...and then it`s gone..

love this place and everybody that takes part...don`t ever doubt that..honest opinions and disagreements are the linchpins....what makes this place percolate....thank god we all speak our minds...wouldn`t be much fun if the forum was an echo chamber....

now we can look forward to the rematch...:SIB :D

..

next week i have strong opinions...don`t have `em all that often...looking forward to it...:thumb:

My honest opinion regarding the Cintron fiasco was that he did not 'jump' out of the ring. It was a genuine slip...but...if he wanted to continue all he had to do was get up and get his ass back in the ring. Tell the doctor to fuk off and climb back into the ring. I think it was an accident, but I don't think he was hurt either.

Maybe he did lie down thinking he would get the decision? What is for sure is that the fight should never have gone to the cards. Scoring a three round fight??? Scoring a round with 30 seconds passed???? Should have been a NC all the way. Oh well....moving on....

Pray tell they don't hold the damn Quezada-Gavern wagers for 60 days...

Right on Weasel!!! couldn't agree with you more. I dig this place so much because it's loaded with boxing gurus, which in my neck of the woods is hard to come by... We gotta discuss and not be afraid to disagree, otherwise we wouldn't learn anything, and then not get better at this...

Just watched the Cintron fiasco.

Man this is unbelievable, this guy again found a way to take my money :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:
I had a lot on PWill straight but I had the same amount on combination of PWill inside with PWill 12rd dec which both lost. I was on Angulo, Martinez and PWill and I lost money every fricking time :mj07:

Regarding dive I don't know what to think. I doubt that he entered the 4th round thinking "It's getting to hot in here, I'm gonna jump out of the ring at first opportunity". Only thing I want to point out to you guys is look at his left arm during the jump. It was in contact with ropes and he could use it to stop the fall like every man alive would?! It is the natural instict and he wasn't koed or something like that.

And how can someone buy that he wanted to continue by playing dead is beyond me.

To bad I didn't get here in time to see that video.

some opinions from other boards (thank god its not just me with this guy Cintron):

"The guy is a DRAMA QUEEN

He might have a career in gymnastics though. That front flip was executed with perfection.

kermit the frog actually jumped out of the ring.

those sitting at ringside need to watch out for Kermie's divebombs

I mean watching the replay, if he didn't jump then he should still quit boxing immediately. If your balance is that bad, that you literally get thrown into the tables from a little turn?

The ring is his launchpad

It's beyond ridiculous....how does Cintron even think of these things?

If I was a promoter I would not put any of my fighters in the ring with cintron.. dude is a fucking buffoon

This makes Andy Kaufman/Jerry Lawler look legit.

But I guess he had to nose dive out of the ring because his tampon sprung a leak.

I mean at some point, its just way too many "freak" incidents

I've watched countless Ruiz humpings, Witter statue posings, Hopkins pawing matches...but this is the most disappointing ending I have ever seen.

a hollywood stuntman could learn alot from kermits fall

Most people stand straight even being tripped NOT to go out the ring. He tucked and rolled before.

Him punching the ambulance doors as he's getting wheeled in looked like some WWE shit.

Holy crap there is no mistaking the `bounce` he did while doing a Greg Luganus (typo) out of the ring.

Exploding out of the ring like he was shot out of a cannon isn't a stretch. It's insane, but that's what this dude is.

He took it too far and ended up outside the ring. Shit snowballed from there and pretty much had to quit at that point

He figured his flight through the ropes was spectacular enough that it warranted a "get out of the fight free card."

He needs to go to a Pro Wrestling school to make his falls look more realistic

the ambulance scene did look very WWE!

To me, it looked like he was falling forward and for some fucking retarded reason decided to launch through the ropes, and once he got to the point where his legs were flailing about, he collapsed onto the floor acting like he was hurt."

I'm gonna compile a list of your 'favorite' fighters Ghost...

Let's begin with, hmm...let me think... Kermit Cintron.

Who else...

BJ Flores
Rodel Mayol

I'm gettin' to know you a little bit, no... who else? refresh my memory.

Maybe we can get them all on the same card at some point, and see how pissed we can get you.

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Just kiddin' my brother. I think they should put you in the ring with Cintron... I'd definitely take the plus odds on you...definitely.

Romi's right Quanah
Stefen Kretschmann
cost me a TON a TON a TON
the difference is though, that we got a little payback on that one
We got to see Bakhtov destroy him in the rematch

I keep waiting and waiting on this guy Cintron
and he keeps coming up with more creative ways to SCREW people
Funny thing is - I DIDN'T EVEN LOSE MONEY LAST NIGHT ! I was on Pwill
:mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

But I know a ton of people, good cappers, who lost money on the OVER because of Cintron's party tricks

With guys like Mayol and Kretschmann, karma came back to bite them in the ass
the boxing gods restructured the universe correctly

Cintron is another beast - a mad voodoo magician
the guy has signed his deal with the boxing diablos
He cannot be stopped
He has fooled two refs, a ringside doctor, and countless members of the boxing media
When he cries, these people cry with him
I don't get it
The guy is herpes.....here forever....

another post from a smart boxing forum poster:

"Why is anyone choosing to defend Cintron here?

The guy took two steps and then dove out of the ring. He didn't have that much momentum to be flung out of the ring like that. He didn't even really trip. He took two steps and willingly dove out. That's what went down, and no explanation about instinctually diving over objects like he's trying to save a ball from going out of bounds doesn't fly with me.

The 'dangerous objects' were outside of the ring ropes. (If) He doesn't catapult himself out, he simply falls into the ropes and the fight continues."

But he didn't do that. It was a perfect dive right through the ropes, barely touching them. Con artist.

Greg Louganis would be proud - very proud.
