I must have missed it too. I dont see much quit in the guy

he did recover in the ring.

after the bout, watch a replay of the 2 knockdowns. he actually shook his head, didnt look at the ref, didnt walk towards the ref, didnt put his hands up.

but youre right, he's still fighting. albeit ruizing too much.

he's far more skilled than this guy, just had a bad gameplan. too young, too inexperienced. he let the crowd get to him, rather than using his strengths.

give ortiz 2-3 years to recover, and he'll dominate again.

Ortiz is the new Fernando Vargas....Easy to say now but he was too green for the tough tough Madana

Shows how solid Kotelnik is beating Maidana , even with a bit of home cooking ...
Kotelnik vs Amir Khan in July could be interesting ... especially if Kotelnik can land something on Khan's glass jaw :mj07:

I didn't bet on the fight. Amazing fight, but Ortiz's gameplan was all wrong. Man did Maidana hold and go low and to hit the back of the head repeatedly. What a dirty fighter. That being said it was Ortiz fight to lose. He fought the fans's fight; not smart. By brawling with him, Ortiz gave Maidana his only chance to win and Maidana took., but it made for a great fight to watch. :Yep:

that was the worst post-fight interview i've ever heard, from a promoter's perspective

hoya must be losing his mind right now. ortiz doesnt want to be a professional boxer, and can you blame him?

he has the looks, the charm, the charisma, the smile to be a friggn model or actor or something. a much easier way to become rich than fight the madainas of the world.

did you notice how devastated Ortiz was?
Dude said he is young and doesn't want to get punched like that
wow....Maidana beat the career out of him....straight up
fuck oscar....good for victor...if he doesn't want to fight he should just walk away

the curse of golden boy continues.....

Please, Maidana, don't take Oscar's briefcase full of cash! tell the golden terd to fuck off!

Ortiz wasn't an angel, either. He forcefully used his head everytime in the clinch. Either way this was a very big win for Maidana and he showed major guts. Both guys were on the brink of defeat numerous times. Amazing fight. Best I've seen all year. I have the same feeling about Maidana that i felt about Mayorga years back- I'll watch him anytime he fights and root for him regardless
