What's people's take on Ortiz- Maidana ?
Ortiz is 1/6 favourite, way to high.
Maidana took the fight because he believes he can win.
This fight is going to be something.

Also, does anybody have an acct w/BetPhoenix?
I called them up a few mnths back but have yet to make a deposit. They have been hounding me with emails and ph calls to put down some dough..Just wondering if they are reputable.
Romi here is what was said about this book. There are other comments so if u want them get my email address and i will point u in the right direction.

The Good-

1- They have deep pockets and they pay out quickly

2- They have great passion for this industry

3- Their vision of the future is really keen

4- They are on a mission to be #1 and I believe they can become #1

5- They are honest, trustworthy and they seem to understand what gamblers want more so than other books

6- They are already attacking markets outside of the US such as China, etc...

7- They will soon be giving others a run for their money that have no clue about how well organized Bet Phoenix is

8- They have a mastermind behind them who impressed me more than anyone has in a long time.

9- They were humble

10-They wont stop working until they become the best that the industry has to offer...

The Bad-

1-Even though I believe Richard Jones is brilliant, he has made some poor choices that people won't forget by working for Lenny, Tej, etc...

2-They haven't withstood the test of time yet...

My Conclusion:

I wouldn't bet against Bet Phoenix emerging as the creme of the crop sooner rather than later, meaning 12-18 months

Re. Bet Phoenix, Romi, as you know you have to register before you can see the lines. I was curious and rang them. A customer service rep told me they have four lines listed for boxing. I asked her to read out what the lines were. Three were for fights that aren't happening: Chris John vs Rocky Juarez, Pavlik-Mora and Mayweather-Marquez.

It seems that two books have now dropped out of the boxing wagering market. (We know which two they are, GhostKid has mentioned one of them a few times recently.) Unless the customer service person got it wrong, it doesn't look as if BetPhoenix will have a lot to offer the boxing bettor.

"the bunker"
i was just in general and they reported he died....

a few days ago i read he was working out with lou ferrigno in preparation for his come back shows in london..... ferrigno said jackson refused to do any weight training.....

the probate courts are going to be besieged....everything he ever had or touched will be seen as a quick rich scheme and i think the rights to the beatles songs are going to be among the most sought after items.....

horrible times for icons from my youth...carradine,ed mcmahon, farah and now jackson.....

terrible....

Thx Graham and Sponge:toast:
You can access the lines without being registered...click sports, fighting, boxing. Not much for boxing action but if Sponge is half correct then you would think boxing will soon become a big part of their business...time will tell. That really bites that Sportsbetting is possibly getting out of boxing. I'll be taking my dough out soon if that is the case.

Did Michael "I'm a lover not a fighter" Jackson really die?

I'm going to give sportsbetting one or 2 more weeks of this....and if things don't change I am taking all my money out and going elsewhere.

Yep....Jackson dead at 50....heart attack....

Wow! I thought it was a hoax. Oh well, may the kiddies and their poop shoots across America rest well tonight. As you can tell, I'm pretty broken up about this :mj07:

I have a 3 man parlay going.

Molitor/Ortiz/Foreman pays even money.

I believe Molitor and Foreman outclass their opponents on points and Ortiz does a number on Maidana.
I don't think he is as good as he looked in his last fight.

Good Luck All :toast: :toast: :toast:

MY PLAYS for Friday and Saturday:

FRIDAY PARLAY
Molitor - Pirog - Kretschmann

I think Kretsch gets by the mediocre Bakhtov, and I have heard only positive things about Pirog. If Molitor can't get by Ruiz, his career is over.

SATURDAY PARLAY
Vanes - Foreman - Ortiz

Vanes and Foreman should both control their bouts. Everyone is high on Maidana, but I am rolling with weepaul on this one. This fight was created by Golden Boy to make Ortiz a star. Maidana is not going to be able to bang with Victor. Trying will be his downfall.

STRAIGHT PLAYS
Shabani
Joyi
Lumacad (the guy fighting Arce)

Shabani is promoted by Abraham's people and fighting at home in Germany.
Joyi is a tough call, but he is a huge star in South Africa - if he is standing at the end, he wins.
Never seen or heard of Lumacad, but I will bet small against Arce ALL DAY LONG at these odds. Arce is totally finished as an elite fighter. A throw away bet at large odds.

Haven't seen a prop yet on Juan Ma ITD, but I will definitely take that as well.
If Simon was a bigger puncher, I would bet on him to beat Sylvester. I'm gonna leave it alone, but Simon has a chance I believe.

Good Luck everybody!

Perhaps, unless he lands first. Is Ortiz's chin confirmed granite.... ?

My plays so far....

My plays so far....

Linares Vs. Perez Under 8.5-130 - Large
Linares has the power and the talent to outclass Perez. Perez is in way over his head and doesn't have the experience to handle Linares pressure.

3-Parlay Jimenez-500+Foreman-340+Vanes-350 (=+100) - Medium

Bakhtov +380 - Small
Value play. Kretschmann is making a big step up with facing Bakhtov. Bakntov has faced the better opposition and will apply a lot of pressure which the Kretschmann hasn't see yet in the pros.

Forman-340 -Extra Large
I know it is a lot of chalk and I normally bet lines pretty close to even and the occasional live underdogs, but I put a huge bet on this Wednesday afternoon. Anyways, I have seen both of these guys fight several times and this is a style mismatch. Yuri is going to box circles around K9 untill K9 holds and hits. K9 will probably be dangerous for the first 6 rounds and if Yuri can survive that onslaut then, Yuri should be able to box and move his way to a win with superior handspeed and footspeed. I am not a fan of Foreman's style, but it is very effective and has the talent to get a world title shot soon.

Good Luck guys! :)

Ghost Kid what do you guys think about the under in the Ortiz v. Maidana fight? Both guys are punchers, but sometime when that happens they fight cautiously???

Ortiz chin is not granite but I think Maidana's punching power is overated.
He is made to order for Ortiz and I expect a blow out. This is not powder puff punching Kotelnik hitting him this time.

Good luck.

i saw the under 8.5 at around -130/140.......i thought that was generous considering the styles of the 2 guys...

i liked what i saw af maidana(thought he beat kptelnik) ,but,i think the lefty stance of ortiz is going to be very difficult on him...

at those odds(+420),though,i can see taking a flyer on maidana...he appears to be a tough dude...

bottom line,i think it ends pretty swiftly..
