I feel sorry for the poor guy.

I'm sure going 12 with Glen Johnson will be a cakewalk compared to the days he forgets to take out the trash.

Good grief!

Froch on the BBC

Froch on the BBC

Interesting interview on BBC radio with Froch.

Among the comments:

He predicted him and Ward would meet in the finals from the beginning.

He has done it the hard way - while Ward has had it easy. Froch has traveled the world, while Ward has been at home for every fight.

Looking back now, he thinks Bute did the smart, easy thing. Waiting for the winner of the Super Six. It's a tough tournament. You see how many fighters have dropped out.

But Froch said he wouldn't go back if he could. He says fighting in the tournament has gained him worldwide respect and only one fight was difficult on his body (Kessler). He said the Dirrell and Abraham fights were easy work. No punishment.

He said he is not looking past the Road Warrior. He is 100% prepared for Johnson. He knows what a threat this guy is and he has a ton of respect for him. But he fancies his chances, and he expects to be in the Super Six Final in a few months.

Finally, he said he has heard the following regarding the Super Six final. November or December of this year, in the USA.

He said Madison Square Garden is out (renovation all fall season). He said he has no problem fighting in the States, but there is "NO CHANCE" the final will be in California. Froch said this is a "massive event" and he thinks the Super Six final should be in the fight capital of the world - Las Vegas.

Vegas baby!!! I'll buy the first round. Thongie; I'll get nosebleeds and we can use some creative accounting to upgrade our position. Since the names Pacquiao or Mayweather are not involved, ticks should be easier to come by. Hard core fight fans will KNOW to attend this.

I could'nt possibly focus on more than one of them at a time, but I'll try harder upon my next visit to their walking activities. I think it was the non-silicone rack that I was obsessed with!

Froch-Johnson line at Bodog, FWIW.

Froch-Johnson line at Bodog, FWIW.

Not sure exactly why; maybe it was priced too high or maybe it got hammered, but line at Bodog on Froch has been -500 for weeks, +300 back. Of course, a two buck straddle is total bullshit. Today I see Bodog has Froch -365, +285 back, which makes a lot more sense. I think Froch by decision is the most likely outcome.

more Froch-Johnson stuff

more Froch-Johnson stuff

The Froch-Johnson 12-round bout will be preceded on the telecast by a scheduled
10-rounder from Denmark between ex-world champion Mikkel Kessler
(43-2, 32 KOs) and world-ranked Mehdi Bouadla (23-3, 11 KOs) that will be
shown on same-day delay.

?Rachael (Cordingley) texted me that our son, Rocco, is walking. He took his first steps and I missed it. And I?m going to take that out on Johnson,? said a fit and confident Froch, who boasted Tuesday about being only two pounds over the 168-pound limit after a big breakfast and just eating lunch. ?Johnson is perfect for me. He?s made for me. He?ll be right there, right in front of me.

?The winner of this fight is going to the Final of the best boxing tournament in the world, the Super Six World Boxing Classic. And the winner is going to be me. I heard Johnson?s team talking about an easy fight. They can think what they want. I?m not concerned with that rubbish.

He's gonna take it out on Johnson? That statement seems misplaced. Froch is an odd duck.

Oh, and 10 dreary rounds of Kessler prior to the fight, say it ain't so.

After hearing so much about Chavez jrs. sparring session against Vanes, I finally took I look myself.

Here are my 2 cents:

For once, it was a very intense sparring session! Actually, I can think of a lot of ?real? fights where the fighters fought with less commitment.

Vanes showed better boxing skills and was generally more active, which is no surprise!

Chavez was sometimes EXTREMELY easy to hit, even when he was trying to move away he moved right into some punches?.but he took the punches well and looked like the stronger fighter, which he should be considering he is a middleweight!

Chavez had some success when Vanes let him lean on him and get set to throw his hooks on the inside. No clinching here whatsoever, which could have saved Vanes in those situations!

What was a bit concerning about Chavez (next to his defensive flaws) was that you didn?t get the impression that he was wearing Vanes down. He was even pushed back quite a bit, which might show that he isn?t overly comfortable to set a very high pace.
But that is nothing new either!

So, overall, I think Chavez weaknesses were confirmed! I thought he was pretty unimpressive against Lyell. A guy with his style should be able to set and maintain a better pace!

Zbik is +200 at betonfighing, hmm?.

Berto accuses Ortiz of steroid use - Anthony Dirrell co-signs:
http://www.fighthype.com/pages/content10039.html

Berto should shut his trap and be grateful he made all those millions on HBO fighting cream puffs.

steve kim responds via twitter:

"I know what Ortiz took. It's the 'I'm not Freddie Hernandez-Pill' Worked like wonders for him "
