Graham, now I'm not sure

Graham, now I'm not sure

This press release from DiBella indicates that that Kessler bout is 10 rounds. You still may be right but thought I'd pass this along:

WHAT: The fighters, trainers and executives will participate in a final press conference to discuss
the highly anticipated Super Six World Boxing Classic Semifinal and WBC 168-pound championship fight between Froch (27-1, 20 KOs) and Johnson (51-14-2, 35 KOs) on Saturday, June 4, live on SHOWTIMER at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast) from Adrian Phillips Ballroom at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic
City, N.J.

The Froch-Johnson 12-rounder will be preceded on the telecast by a scheduled 10-round bout from Denmark between ex-world champion Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KOs) and world-ranked Mehdi Bouadla (23-3, 11 KOs) that will be shown on same-day delay.

Froch exudes a certain churlish arrogance about him. Looks like he's trying to sniggle Johnson a bit. Glen ain't biting. He just wants Saturday to get here.

Kessler fight a 12-rounder

Kessler fight a 12-rounder

All books I checked listing it as a 12 rounder.

I asked Kessler's promoter, Sauerland Event, if they could confirm the fight distance for me. They emailed me today (Thursday) to confirm that the fight is, as they put it, "12 x 3" (12 three-minute rounds.)

update to this mysterious line movement

update to this mysterious line movement

Not sure exactly why; maybe it was priced too high or maybe it got hammered, but line at Bodog on Froch has been -500 for weeks, +300 back. Of course, a two buck straddle is total bullshit. Today I see Bodog has Froch -365, +285 back, which makes a lot more sense. I think Froch by decision is the most likely outcome.

So today, 6/02, its back to the ridiculous -500/+300 back. Guess it was a one day sale or something.

Johnson, a super guy by all accounts, lets out a rare sharp comment. And not necessarily a bad thing to have a bit of a fire going. Sometimes he's lacked that. He's got his game face on and you get the sense he doesn't like Froch's churlish arrogance either. Really interested to see how this one goes down.

I am betting on the old man at +330 with a Froch on points straddle.
I have never been impressed by the Caveman and he is going to be in for a surprise if he thinks the old man is going to be another Abraham for him to tee off on.
I was most impressed with Froch when he lost to Kessler. He boxed well against Kessler but had trouble with Kessler's aggression and body shots.

I expect Froch to outbox Glen for the first couple of rounds only to be dragged into a dogfight. When his big right hand makes Glen smile, Froch will be in deep shit.

I am also betting on Chavez JR. I don't think much of Chavez but this fight is his to win. Everything favours him. I expect Zbik to get cut by a headbutt, the ref claiming it was a legal shot and stopping the fight although the cut is not even bleeding.

Or, Chavez is behind on points, Zbik lands a left hook to the jaw and the ref DQ's him for punching below the belt.

Very small appetizer play for me on the Jhonson-Torres UNDER 7.5 @ +135. Torres seems to have a decent beard, but Joe Greene did have him down. Greene outclassed a slower Torres, so I imagine Jhonson can easily do the same. I think the precision and speed of Jhonson may allow for a stoppage win.
