Arreola comes in at a trim.......................256lbs!

Unbelievable. He told Brian Kenny that he was taking his training serious and he knew that he gave away the Adamak fight by not training properly....and so what does he do....the guy comes in 6 lbs heavier . I had no issue betting -1200 IF he came in at a reasonable wt. This guy is disgusting. He could be a mainstaple on HBO or Showtime but he just sent the networks a big fat message. This guy is destined to end up fat and broke. Even if he disposes of Quezada early, no promotor is going to want to deal with a fat lazy fighter that just refuses to get into good fighting condition. He just simply can't be effective at that wt. He doesn't get it. I'm disgusted.

I expected at least 10 pounds lighter than that.
The guy doesn't get it.

Oddsmakers showing some love for Crazy Kim. Kim has made some of us some good dough but tends to have us on edge. I give Vas an excellent shot at an upset here and was rather surprised to see him @+190. I expected Kim to be favored but not at -230. Not a huge wager for me but if Vas gets through the early going then I think Kim is going to have some trouble. Teddy had Vas winning 9 of 10 rds after a 1st rd flash kd v prescott. Kim can punch like a mule kick but his technique has a lot to be desired imo. Personally I think it's a pic em fight so had to jump @ +190. Also glad to see this is a 12 rder which I think favors Vas.

i think you make some excellent points,bud....kim is maybe as enjoyable a fighter to watch as there is,but,he eats punches like candy....

vasquez losses to saul alvarz(twice) and tim bradley....not alot else on his resume(before prescott),but if theres any homecourt advantage to be had,i`d think it would go with the mexican fighting in laredo...

kim is on a tear...i wish this was on t.v.(rfox sports is only carried in spanish on my cable and only by special subscription)...should be fun to watch...

i see a +185....might be worth a tiny wager....kim`s on too much of a roll to dedicate real money against him vs a mediocre punching opponent..

but,i`m in very small...:0074

Arreola vs. Quezada

Arreola vs. Quezada

<img src="http://fightnews.com/Boxing/81210quezada004.jpg">

What's going on y'all, long time reader/follower, first time poster. Is it just me or has Chris appeared chubbier in the past than this, despite coming it at 256?

Wagers so far

Wagers so far

3 way parlay - J. Lopez, C. Arreola, C. Dawson (+100) - medium well
Lopez - seemingly the toughest leg here, but I think Joseito is the fighter going places. He has fought and beaten the better competition, and seems to be on the upswing. Cordova has shown some limitations against lesser guys. Also a hometown fight for Lopez.

Arreola - At this point, I think we gotta take Arreola for what he is. He's always gonna have that flabby sugar tits look, but he is one tough sob. He will have much to much for plodding Quezada, and I see Arreola bludgeoning him down and out in the first half of the fight.

Dawson - After what I've seen from Bad Chad I just can't go against him. Ultra smooth and highly skilled. Pascal is quality, and fight in Canada, but I don't see it as enough. Dawson also with a huge reach advantage, and I think this comes into play. 117-111 Dawson.

Dawson by decision (-110) - medium

Arreola-Quezada UNDER 6.5 (-135) - small

Derrick Campos (+1000) - very small At this price, I'll take a very small shot on Campos with big rewards. Eloy should win this, but Campos is a rough guy. If he can close the distance and make it ugly, then maybe. Eloy without much power, and he has struggled a bit against guys I expected him to dominate.

I've got some more things in line for Saturday, but this will do for right now.

Good luck fellas!!!!

Welcome December! I think you're right, and noticed the same thing. In the Adamek fight, there seemed to strangely be some strength missing? I noticed it in his shoulders right away. He looks big and strong here, and I think he will be fine. Quezada looks much the flabbier to me.

Arreola should get it done under 6.5, but how could you trust this idiot?

He is out of shape every fight and doesn't give a rat's ass.
Better bets this weekend IMO.

I know that you know Eloy, and to be honest I think you're right.

It's just that +1000 was too good to pass up. I think Campos has got a better than 10 to 1 shot here.

Likely score is something like 98-92, 97-93 Eloy.

Better bets I agree - so kept it small. It's Friday and I'll be watching so I figured just for the entertainment value.

Ahh just busting your chops Q
only kidding around
:toast:

Campos came in 3 pounds overweight, so I think Eloy will be too quick for him....but your analysis is spot on regarding past struggles...I just have to back my boy !

Good luck this weekend
:0074

by the way, thanks for reminding me Josesito fight is basically home fight for him....I forgot he fights in Ontario a lot

I have always been a fan of Pascal.
I thought he was doing great early against Froch, and I was on him both fights against Diaconu.
The guy has heart and balls, but he is a bit reckless with those hooks (on an ESPN fight a few years back, Pittman had him hurt).

I listened to Steve Kim's show this week, and he said he thinks Dawson might have changed his style a bit since the first Glen fight. That he doesn't like to get touched. I think, to an extent, this is true.

Dawson is a hugely skilled fighter, and I think, in the end his speed, reflexes, height, and 8 inch reach might be the difference here. That's a lot of reach.

But in Canada, with one Canadian judge, a Canadian referee, and thousands screaming for Pascal? Going to be extremely difficult.

I think Dawson might squeak by tomorrow, but I don't think he will get the stoppage. I expect Pascal to fight very inspired. I see a 7-5 fight either way.

My bets sort of look like Lordofthe Lunch. I played the Pascal points spread, the DRAW, and small on Pascal by split and Pascal by majority.

If Dawson DOES stop Pascal, it will be, in my opinion, the most impressive victory of his career.
