I see the books aren't even offering a line on the Andre Ward mismatch....LOL

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Can't blame them....I doubt Pudwill makes it out of round 1.....

You can get him at -1800. Just a mere 90k wager will fetch you 5000.00.

The book that offered Floyd -350 is now @-500.

BTW Ghost, our favorite heavyweight Steffen Wretchman will be fighting next week. He's really taking a step up. The guy he's fighting is 3-21 w/10 ko losses. The promotor described his opponent as very tough...:mj07:

My plays this week

-Nietes -125! what a bargain opening price!

-the over on nietes -150 9 1/2 rds. Vargas was stopped in his pro debut 9 yrs ago and has showed a good beard since. I think this goes to nietes by dec.

-Sosa -600. I bet it straight up. The guy is on a tear and I'll be shocked to see him lose this one. The line is now -900

-under on Sosa 9 1/2 -140. I see a gulf in class and the way Sosa has been fighting I think he gets Omar out of there. I just hope it's anytime b4 9 1/2.

Montiel -525. I bet it straight up and essentially the same thing I said about the fight above.

Davis over Napa +110. Napa perhaps getting a tad long in the tooth and Davis can punch a bit. He has no chin but with Napa having all of 1 ko on his resume, I don't think he'll need a chin. Very small play and I liked the +odds

Mayol +400. Perhaps Calderon will regain form and win an easy 12 rder but Mayol gave him absolute fits the 1st time and Calderon may have peaked. For a guy that relies on speed and reflexes, losing a step could cost him dearly. Calderon doesn't have the pop that get's other older vets out of trouble. I don't discount him using his head intentionally to get out of trouble if need be. +400 was too good to pass up. Should be one of the better fights this wkend.

Good luck everybody!

Pacquiao has a massive squash. Many may disagree but I think he holds advantages over Cotto in every way.

But his biggest advant is speed. Pac has crazy speed. Hatton is pretty fast himself but he never even saw the punches Pac was landing on him. Hatton was desperately trying to grab Pac but Pac was so fast that Hatton couldn't even hold on. Personally I favor Pac but not counting out Cotto pulling the upset. Cotto was able to neutralize Shanes speed and IFhe can do it to Pac then we got a fight. Oscar and Hatton couldn't lay a single glove on Pac so the early rds are going to tell a lot. The props on this one are going to be very interesting. Pac certainly has better D but I do think Cotto is the puncher here and I believe his power tops Pacs...but it doesn't matter at all if he can't land it. I'm still pretty stoked for this fight.

Cotto didn't look quite "right" against Clottey. Perhaps some residue from Margarito. Can he ever shake his recent form against top opposition is the question - and I'm not sure he can. But Pac needs a good camp. If he trains like he did for Oscar Larios Cotto could win. But I think the heavier weight suits Pac and I expect that he'll be ready. I see Cotto pounded into submission between the 6th and 9th rounds.

Is this fight off? Don't see it on boxrec or other sportsbooks except 5cents.

The fight has been postponed. I understand that Davis had an injury issue, nothing serious but enough for him to ask for the fight to be put back a month. New date is Oct. 23.

Poor Anthony Mora looks like he'd rather be anyplace else than facing Josesito Lopez.

Mora doesnt look happy in this picuture...I barely recognised him with all that hair...

Anyways, there are some interesting fights this week, but nothing really stands out to me.

Tyson Fury is a huge favorite against McDermott.
McDermott is nothing special, but he fought on even terms with Danny Williams (though he lost both fights) and holds a win over Gammer and Reid.
Tyson Fury so far hasnt fought anybody worth mentionning but some actually seem to think he could go all the way...I'm pretty sure that he will get his ass kicked on the way to the top...I'm not sure it will be against McDermott, but these odds are just too good to pass.

I also think that Mayol at +400 is worht a shot.
Many think that Mayol got the best of him the first time...Calderon relies on his footwork and conditionning and he is getting old...of course the site in puerto rico is of some concern

I havent made a play yet on Vargas and Cermeno, but both seem to be very live at rougly 2-1 underdogs. Cermeno already holds a win over Mijares in Mexico and Vargas will have hometwon advantage against Nietes. If he carries the weight well (and he seemed comfortabla weighing in at 102 lbs recently) he could be a very tough match for Nietes...

All right... Difficult week for me to discern at first look. I'm going with some dogs here, so I will probably either hit it big or take a bath.

- Rodel Mayol +350. This is my number one play this week. At even money, I would still like Mayol in this fight. Calderon has had a series of close calls. He may have lost a half step, which for a fighter like him changes everything. Mayol is properly trained now. Puerto Rican location is potentially troubling, but I think Mayol makes it convincing.

-Martinez-Rodriguez under 7 1/2 at +235. I'm playing the odds here. To me, it is about 50/50 as to whether Martinez gets him out by then. At +235 I'll take the side the Martinez comes out aggressively (1st defense in Puerto Rico), and gets Rodriguez out of there. Rodriguez has never been ko'd, but has been down more than once.

-smaller plays
-N. Cermeno at +190. This is another pick'em fight so again, I will side with the odds. Cermeno has already beaten Mijares once, why not again? To me it is Cermeno who is on the upswing, and Mijares who may be on the downslide. It will be a close decision either way.

-M. Vargas at +170. Another toss-up as far as I'm concerned. Nietes is a brawler-type, but could be outboxed. Vargas is a good boxer, taller and lanky. I have no strong feeling about this fight, but at these odds I'll side with the Mexican home field advantage.

-L. Morelli at +750. I don't know, but by record Morelli looks tough enough. Sometimes there's no telling how good these chicks are until they are matched tough. Braekhus is the golden child on the promotion, and according to reports is good, but at these odds its worth a slight that Morelli is better than everyone suspects.

good luck all :)

That is a very good line. Down to +150 now. Seems Rodriguez has been dropped by ordinary folk and is an aggressive type. Rocky could roll him - we'll see.
