I didn't see this fight but it seems those single ref decisions tend to be skewed.

Drag that Rodriguez out of the fight

Drag that Rodriguez out of the fight

That is a very good line. Down to +150 now. Seems Rodriguez has been dropped by ordinary folk and is an aggressive type. Rocky could roll him - we'll see.

It's a drag that Rodriguez is no longer meeting Martinez. I thought Rocky was set to stop the Argentinean guy in seven rounds.

Look at LeHoullier. He already looks drunk. Do you think he's ever had a barroom brawl at his local tavern?:142smilie :142smilie :mj07: :mj07:

Visa problem, I think

Visa problem, I think

No way! What happened???

I think Rodriguez had visa issues. Why can't these people sort these things out in good time? ... Just read on Fightnews that Martinez now meets Feider Viloria in a mismatch.

Thanks Graham - just checked over there. From the weigh in pics there Rocky looks lean and mean.

sorry Zerwas, you deserved that McD decision. 98-92 Fury? you were fucked from the bell.

Sorry Z. Looks like an obvious corrupt dec. How many times have you heard the name TerryO'Connor involved in shady decisions? The guy is clearly a plant for the promotion. The scoop from fightnews-

"Both fighters went in for kill in the last two rounds, which saw Fury preserving a bit more energy than the titlist. As the fight was for the English heavyweight title and was conducted under BBofC rules and regulations, referee Terry O?Connor was the sole judge for the fight"

BTW, for those interested, there is a great piece on James kirkland @boxingscene. He's up for sentencing next week. I'm not one for light sentences for repeat offenders but I think Kirk deserves a chance here. Here's hoping that the judge shows a bit of leniency and just gives him the minimum :toast: :00x11 :toast: :00x11 :toast:

I had the over 5.5 -135 for a medium play and a small play at +600 for Big Bad John. Sounds like the fight should of been 96-94 for McDermott. We got jobbed again.

By Alexey Sukachev
Rapidly rising British heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury (8-0, 7 KOs) has been seemingly stopped in his tracks by a huge underdog and English champion John McDermott (25-6, 16 KOs) only to be awarded with a highly controversial ten-round decision, which was severely booed by the local crowd at Brentwood Centre in Brentwood, UK.

My only other play this week is:

Montiel Under 8.5 -170-Medium

But I am looking at Nehomar Cemeno +200 as a possible play to beat Mijares again.

Any thoughts on this fight guys?

I think that this is a pick'em fight, so why not take a shot on Cermeno? He already beat Mijares once. Cermeno had a good amateur background, he is the younger guy and presumably on the upswing, whereas Mijares suddenly seems to be slipping. I think Cermeno at +200 is a solid play.

every time i see a picture of manny,i`m utterly amazed at the size of the man`s head...something`s wrong here.....this guy was a fricking jr flyweight(i don`t care if he was 16..your head reaches 96% of it`s full size by around the age of 10 or 11) ...now,his head looks like a bowling ball next to a softball when compared with natural jr welters and welterweights?....

his move through the weight classes is pretty much unprecedented....

imo, this mf`er`s taking something..theres more bone poundage in that skull than a stegosaurus` ribcage at the smithsonian....

steroids?...don`t know...more probably hgh....

sorry,that`s my opinion...

It is a possibility. Love Pacman, though. Maybe he'll make his way up to middleweight. :mj07: :mj07: :142smilie :142smilie

Frank Maloney offers further explanation for Terry O'Connors' myopic scorecard.

"Promoter Frank Maloney has accused referee Terry O?Connor of scoring against his fighter John McDermott as revenge because McDermott?s father Stan McDermott had knocked out O?Connor in a bout 32 years ago. O?Connor controversially scored a 98-92 points winner over McDermott at Brentwood Arena in Brentwood, Essex, UK on Friday. Sky TV commentators, 2000 fans packed into the sold out venue and millions of TV viewers were stunned as McDermott appeared a clear winner.

O?Connor was knocked out in five rounds by at the Royal Albert Hall in December 1977. Maloney said: ?I think O?Connor is incompetent, but also when he saw Stan in John?s corner got flashbacks to the night he was beaten by Stan in their match.?

RESULTS

Lopez chops down Mora
Julio takes down Salcido

Lightweight Josesito Lopez (26-3, 15 KOs) brutally battered lanky Anthony Mora (15-4, 10 KOs) for three rounds and Mora did not come out for round four on Friday night in the main event at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California. In another notable bout, heavy-handed veteran lightweight Ilido Julio (39-15-1, 35 KOs) spectacularly knocked out local favorite Dominic Salcido (17-2, 9 KOs) in round five.

Salcido got stopped by Ilido Julio ?!!?!??!? UNREAL !!!!
This kid was a couple rounds away from a decent payday....he was schooling Escobedo until he got caught....and now he loses to this scrub (Julio at one point had lost 9 in a row).....

Salcido was a 16 and 0 prospect just one year ago....boxing is a rough sport.....I am shocked by this result....

interesting post from the boxrec forum today:

"there is an error on fighnews.com.

they have julio ceasar chavez jr @154lbs, and he weight in at 159.5 lbs.
they have jason LeHoullier @ 154lbs, and he weight in at 156.2 lbs.

something looks fishy.

also they have an artical they indicates jason LeHoullier is talking poop about chavez, this is also untrue.

thanks you
Team LeHoullier"

I tend to believe this is true....I am so sick of this fuker Chavez coming in heavy in his fights....he cheats everytime he fights in Mexico....He did the same thing against Celaya....
