Snipped from the golf newsgroup after a visit on Weds;
. "I saw
Furyk play 1 and 2 and then go straight down 18 rubbing his wrist"

and

"Fred Couples was hitting the ball
beautifully. He was playing with Tom Watson who couldn't appear to hit
many straight. Not like Tom. The last time I saw him for more than a
couple of holes was when he beat Nicklaus in that fantastic contest at
Turnberry in 1977. The two Irishmen Clarke and Harrington, seemed to be
their usually smiley selves and striking the ball well."

Gonna have to get up before 3am during this tourny.Been about a dozen post since I went to sleep
smile.gif

1837 sorry for late reply, but just now reading.I like the bet but not the odds.
I am a little timid on totals when weather is unpredictable as such. The wind will keep scores down but the rain will lower them and I don't know which and how much of each is coming and when.We have plenty here that should be familiar with the weather there and would follow their lead for most part.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Cartman I bet a little 3ball combo @ Sportingbet and Turner was one of my favs also.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
With Blackpool nearby this may be better weather link with hourly details. http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/UKXX0019

Tiger failed to birdie any par 5

For anyone that does have an account with the Qld Tab in Australia, they seem to be taking "live betting" on the British Open until they close at about 9pm local time.

I have just added 2 plays to my outrights:

Faxon 70-1 (seems over the odds following his good start)
Singh 30-1 (he has moved out without hitting a ball !!)

Their URL is www.tabq.com.au

Nice call Neverteaseit, though I did want a lower score from Love myself
rolleyes.gif

Tomorrow it will be a dry and bright in the morning with fairly gentle winds like today. It will become cloudy in the afternoon with winds rising and rain expected in the evening.

Playing conditions are good this morning with just 6mph winds and the temperature slowly starting to rise.

One thing I should have mentioned about scoring is that the pins were set in very accessible positions yesterday because of the R&A's fears over the weather forecast for 50mph winds. They didn't want embarrassingly high scores. Of course, the winds didn't materialize and low-scoring was the order of the day. Today, with a good forecast on the weather front, look for the R&A to place the pins in much more difficult places so birdies are not so common. They, like the USGA, want par to be a good score in their championship.

one 2nd rd play
McGinley -115 over JP Hayes @ Camelot.

Was looking for matches vs Monty and on Couples but couldn't find any of liking.
With Exception of Freds 4shots to get out of bunker and he played very solidly,Montys score was one of most deceptive I have witnessed in a while.Could not even miss putts he did miss lol.Has been apparent Hoch does not care about being here but hard to oppose being 1st out of the gate.
Would Murphy please release the winds.

At the cut:2nd rds 0-1 72 holes 4-2
Todays match McGinnley/Hayes loss by 1
Had to bogey 3 out of last 4 to lose it but managed.
72 holes
Langer/Hoch win by 7
Hoch/Langer loss on hedge
Couples/Scott loss by 6
Faldo/Daly win by 2
Maruyama/Hoch win by 1
Mayfair/Karlsson win by 5 "Cheers Turtle"
remaining 72 holes
Allenby Price 4 down
Allenby/Dimarco 2down
Love/Duval 2up
Singh/Garcia 2 up
Roberts/Jiminez 3up

Caught a good break on Maru match as he refused to quit and birdied last hole for +122 win/Hoch Bout time one bounced for the good guys.

Monty hanging in there and while it is not in my interest from monetary standpoint I will be pulling for him to claim a most deserving career victory.Go Monty

Daly brought somes smiles to punters taking +195 to miss cut. Off to see what lines are up for tomorrow.

Update:

Not pretty on the matchups. Didn't help that Mediate withdrew with a "bad back"
rolleyes.gif
Both his opponents missed the cut so he didn't have too much to do to beat them! Two of the other 72-hole plays were decided at the cut and both were also losses: Watson lost by nine to Lyle and Couples had a horrible day to lost to Olazabal by six. In the two remaining plays, Sutherland trails Fasth by six and Scott trails Rose by three. Should have left my 'B' list alone!

At least the props were a face-saver. The cut props finished 9-2 to cover the losses on the matchups and bring the week into profit
smile.gif
The scoring prop looks to be quite tight. 34 players are currently under par, but with weekend pin positions, the extra pressure of a major weekend and the weather forecast to be more challenging tomorrow, there is still a chance of success. Might even be a good week yet. Parnevik lies 3rd, just two shots behind Monty, Love and Singh are only three shots further back in 17th. Should get at least one place finish from these three.

Will give Mark a little action on totals @ Camelot since he was so kind to post some, however with 30 to 40% chance of rain will take conservative approach on a parlay for 1/2 unit.
Duval over 70.5
Lickliter over 71.5
Woods under 68.5
Monty over 70.5
$10 for $146
