Oh well - on to the next Major!
I think Coral were half asleep this morning when they put up their prices for Muirfield as they still went 150/1 the man who has won the last 2 at that location - OK so he probably won't beat Tiger but if the wind blows etc etc I will be more than happy grasping my 150/1 voucher for Nick Faldo :)

A couple of Open specialists:

Leonard 66/1 @ Chandler
Parnevik 66/1 @ Ladbrokes.

Both always seem to get beaten down the week before so will take a little on them now.

Glad to see Robert Allenby's form has improved recently and he is going well again this week. I have him in a ?5 e/w double both 66/1 1/4 lst 5 with Olazabal (placed in the Masters). ?1500+ for the place double but being an optimist have topped up for the win at betfair where 90 is still available.

Justin Leonard must be the man to put your money on. He's showing good form in America and you cant ignore his great record in the Open.

Faldo must be worth a small each way bet and I think Ernie Els must be watched, he's due a big win, and had a good finish at Muirfield in 92.

Clarke is 50/1 at Hills, looks value...I think he is coasting after his win...
Leonard is 66/1 with Ladbrokes..shorter elsewhere..

Adding:

Olazabal 80/1 @ Hills 1 Unit ew.

Finished 3rd at Muirfield in 1992. Although not currently showing the form of a few months ago will have the luxury of keeping his driver in the bag most of this week. If his irons get hot he'll have as good a chance as anyone imo.

How do I get the above link to work . I'm a poor weather forecaster in place of Stanley .

Have a sentimental play before I start # crunching
Thomas Bjorn 15/1 to Place @ oly 1/2 unit.

He cashed for me in 2000 @ great odds and one of few to bump heads with Tiger down the stretch in tourney and win.

Call me an idiot but I just have a hunch on Maruyama. The course apparently isn't very long and he always plays well in Europe.

My plays:

2 units on Maruyama to win and 3 to place at 60-1.
1 unit to win and 2 to place on Duval at 40-1 (for some reason he's always tough in the British Open)
1 unit to win and 2 to place on Jim Furyk at 60-1.

OK I'm an idiot to have so many outrights but B.O. comes once a year. adding two longshots @ SIA each @ 31.25 to place 1/2 unit

Roberts and Lonard (not Leonard)

Lonard been real cash cow this year on matches and I have no idea why Roberts is at these odds as he ranks 13th in scoring ave in B.O. of listed players and last 2 finishes were 7 and 13th.

Outright plays placed earlier:

Clarke 50/1. Has slowed down a bit since his win in the English Open but should be up for this. Fine record in this event.

Parnevik 66/1. An excellent links player who has struggled this year. Felt exhausted after the US Open and I'm hoping a break was what the doctor ordered.

Furyk 66/1. Another fine links player. Hopefully the nappy factor will kick in this week.

Els 20/1. 3rd last year and 2nd in 2000. Was 5th at Muirfield in 1992 and should contend this week.
