Thanks DZ. This was one I have been waiting for since last week. Happy it worked out and I have a couple parlays working with -1.5 with a couple soccer plays.

Kuznetsov is simply a pleasure to watch and easily becoming one of the best players in the game. You can not take a lot of penalties against the Caps and expect to win. Their power play is simply too good and it will affect how teams play against them.

Was a big play for me tonight so I am laying off tomorrow. I honestly do not know much about NJ, but I think the fact that they have only played 1 game so far is not in their favor with the Caps coming in. I will wait for Saturday against Toronto that on paper looks like a huge over play. Will not be surprised if they put a rare 7 on the total, but I am not sure they can make it high enough. Just do not see how this one stays under 10.

Also worth noting that I do not think the coaching change has had any negative affect as I talked about at the end of last season. The players really like Reirden and I think it is already showing in their play.

Nice work as always, Caps look real nice to start. That Saturday Night tilt between the Capitals and the beloved Blue and White should be highly entertaining stuff, looking forward to that! It wouldn't surprise me to see odds makers hang a 7 on that game, after Toronto pumps Detroit tonight I don't think they will have a choice.

Thanks Crook. I see no way that line is not at least 7 if not 7.5.

Have not see a Penguin line but have to think they take care of a tired Vegas team tonight.

Penguins at -200 for tonight. I like the Pens as well although I am not high on their back up goaltender. I might wait a few days, I have Vegas @ Philly Saturday afternoon circled. By than it will be Vegas 4th road game in 6th days to close out a jam packed road trip, with puck dropping at 1:00 pm. This will set up a nice situational play where Vegas should be completely out of steam and just looking to get back to the confines of home.

Tonight has the feeling of a sandwich game for the CAPS off last night s big game and the big game this weekend. NJ rested off their Euro trip, home opener and they don't play again until Sunday.... you have had a great feel for this Caps team... any added insight on tonights game? TY

I think it is a tough spot for the Caps but I expect them to play well. This team does not seem to react the same way as others. I do think they are looking forward to the Toronto game Saturday, but I think they will still give a strong effort. I just do not like it enough to make a play as I am not 100% sure what NJ will do. I know that is not very definitive, but I think a better way to put it is that I would not bet against them tonight.

I did bet Pitt -1.5.

Penguins at -200 for tonight. I like the Pens as well although I am not high on their back up goaltender.

The history of the Penguins when a backup goalie is in the net, especially a surprise start due to injury, is they try to insulate him as much as possible. Olli Maatta is a healthy scratch tonight because he's been playing like ass recently so a rookie D gets his first start.

This is just such a weird spot for the Penguins. Backup goalie they will want to protect but starting a rookie for his first game that will fill in for a first pairing D so either a true maiden on the first line or the line get jumbled on defense.

I'll take the Pens and over for the same amounts. I don't think I lose both.

Edit to add= Rikolla (New D) on fourth pairing with 2nd PP and Dumolin with Letang on top D line. Wagers remain the same.

Sorry Samson, I was right about not playing the game but Caps did not show up. Did not get a chance to see any of it, but looks like they were never in it. I figured Copley would play and do not have any confidence in him right now so I should have mentioned that also.

Pitt was a good play last night. Vegas on the road will present a lot of good go against plays this year.

I will likely be on the Caps and over tomorrow but will wait to see the lines.

Well, they posted the 7 spot for the total as we expected. Part of me thinks this is a sucker play, but the play of both teams so far screams nothing but the over for this one. Neither team is playing great team defense and I expect both offenses to be at their best. The Caps were obviously looking ahead to this one so I am going to stick with the obvious plays

Caps Ov 7 -105
Caps -120

I will also be betting against Vegas one more time on the final game of their east coast swing likely in a parlay or two with other games I like in soccer and football. They have to be a little worn out and this is an early game.

No sucker play on that over of 7. The way these two teams have been lighting it up there was no choice but oddsmaker to post a 7, not to mention both squads are in the bottom 3rd in goals against. This should be one helluva game. I cant see any reason to take the under here. I am going to see how the line moves before jumping in as I am showing over at 7 +105 right now. Good luck and Go Leafs Go

I do not disagree Snafu, but I am just taking the game over in this one. This could be a game where we see 7 in one period and then barely any in the others. My guess is that neither team really wants a complete shoot out, but I just do not see how that does not happen. Caps biggest weakness is defensive speed and Toronto will exploit that and I do not see Toronto stopping the Caps offense at home. Kicker will be penalties. If the speed of both teams creates penalties, we will see a handful of power play goals. I will miss the game, but should be a fun one to watch.

Not disagreeing at all about totals of this game, just observing odds.
Haven't seen that low 1st period line lately.

I did not see any of this game, but looks like the Caps could not get it going and then could not get the goal to get it to 3-3. Looks like third and fourth lines need to pick it up.

I will add from time to time when I think the Caps are in a good spot or simply comment on the games, but I like to wait some now to see how teams settle in after the start of the season.

Soccer will be my main focus for now as it has been running good.

Think the CAPS will be in a great spot Wednesday night against the Rangers. I imagine they will be a sizeable favorite but for good reason.. CAPS will have had several days to stew over losing 2 out of last 3 and really getting the first sizeable break since a whirlwind start to the season. Rangers should be on fumes coming off a homestand where they played a few games with not much rest and having to play this Tuesday night.

I agree Samson, but it is going to be a big line. Will be a 3-way or -1.5 bet for me and likely in a parlay. Will look into it more tomorrow as I am not yet up to speed on most teams other than the Caps.

As expected the Caps line is huge tonight at -265. I never lay that kind of number in hockey no matter what the situation. Rangers coming off a SO win last night and now have a back to back in DC while the Caps have been off since Sunday after a home game and back to back losses. This is a "show me" game for the Caps and for Reirdan, as they need to prove they are focused and ready to play at their top level. The third and fourth lines have been the biggest disappointment for me to start the season and they have to start producing for this team to start clicking. The top 2 lines can not do all the have lifting. I am not 100% confident we see their best but I also do not think they will lose this game.

Caps -1.5 Even

I will tie them to MLB and also maybe a soccer game.
