I guess I'm must be behind times but always thought primary purpose of marriage was to raise family

---but I will try an be objective and assume under arguments made here for the reasons in favor: that they would also have no problem with polygamists or even per Eddies statement "as long as they enter in legal contract" incest.

Where do you draw the line:nono:

Im dead against gay marriage,

I see the scumbags in that sewer up in Canada made it legal, of course they have pro islam and anti Chirstian judges up in that rathole too.

Im tired of the gay agenda trying to brainwash us, it is a choice to be gay, and they try to recruit and stalk staright people.

I love the people, but hate there sin that is to choose that deviant lifestyle.

Doggie, we all know you are behind the times. But once again, let me try (emphasis on the word "try") to enlighten you. Marriage is a legal not moral or religous concept. Although it has taken on religous and moral attributes over the years in our society.

Once again, it is a contract between two individuals who are competent to contract. Marriage between blood-related individuals carries medical consequences and is illegal. Like I said, marriage is a legal concept. Let the law define societys parameters and religion decide spirtual parameters.

"let the law decide ...."
Who makes and changes the laws?? We do!
let the law decide....you're a liberal idiot!
Good post above regarding what else do we just "let people do what they want"? Polygamy? How about child molesters? Then, they can grow up and be totally screwed up and be like some of the adults that are joining same-sex marriages.
We must try to keep society under some control or we'll head down the same road as others that were eventually ruined, literally.
Let the law....:moon:

I am sure even an incompetent attorney could prove there are no medical consequences if a father married his son or mother her daughter. After all we were talking about gay marriages. Correct!

I don't care if they marry but I do not think that they should recieve benefits. The spirit of benefits is to ease the burden of raising a family. If two people of the same sex get married they are, in most cases, not doing it to raise a family.

I should be used to it by now, but some of the members of this board continue to astound me as to how stupid they are. I mean tying your shoes has to be planned out for some of you. Lets address the idiots in order of stupidity.

And of course in first place, Dogs:

As marriage is a legal concept the law has evolved over time to fit societies needs. It is illegal (and may very well be immoral and anti-religous) to marry your children. Back in Spartan society where women were viewed as cum dumpsters and Spartan warriors were homosexual. I'm sure it would have been legal to marry your corporal.

Which brings me to my next moron, Big Joe. Is that an acronym for a little johnson? Isnt polygamy accepted in the Mormon faith (or it was at one time in the not too distant past). Can't moslems have several wives? Society dictates right. I may be called a liberal idiot but at least I'm not dumber than dirt.

Child molesters, rape and other acts are crimes of violence. Do you want to explain to me how that has anything whatsoever to do with the topic of this thread. Big Joe, huh. You sound like a big joe. Lotta braun, little brain.

And of course, not to be outdone, we have our very own Dr. Freeze from the windblown wheat fields of Kansas chiming in with more right wing brilliance. Look quack, marriage is a legal concept. Period, the end.

Heres something you can understand, maybe, ecchymosis is a medical concept. Defined by doctors, right. Now I know you will be able to grasp this one, medical malpractice is cross between the legal world (where I live) and the medical world (where you try to live). Kabish?

Jeez, boys this isnt that tough. Hell, W might even be able to comprehend this one.

The argument that they shouldn't be allowed to on the basis of not being able to "raise a family" is laughable. Does that mean that people who are sterile shouldn't be allowed to marry either?

Similarly bj, it must be wrong for any woman over 45 to marry...not a lot of families in their future either....

but I guess the main reason for marriage is to raise a famiily....

The solution to this is to allow consenting ADULTS, gay or straight, to pledge their everlasting love to each other (never taken lightly, except on your reality TV shows) and have such a union recognized as a marriage in the registry office and the world.

No church would ever be asked to be involved, as each church may decide who gets married within the walls of their buildings (eg Catholic churches will not marry divorced people, even though these people may LEGALLY marry)

This is another example of certain people wishing to impose their religious values on others in society. Not a lot different than Taliban getting to impose strict islamic laws in certain countries.

The government has no place in the bedrooms of the (adult) nation, to paraphrase a former prime minister

As with most of our politically correct left wingers.they dance dodge spin and do everything but answer one simply question.

Where do YOU draw the line.

Your stand on gays is obvious, you have the ACLU protecting the NAMBLA outfit promoting child pornography so evindently thats cool with you.

I am just trying to find out where you draw the line if you have line.

Personally I don't care if they swing from a ceiling fan with Gerils flying out their ass as long as they do it in privite.
You want to play grab ass on a beach in front of a bunch of children acting like its a natural act thats where I draw the line.

If you have no problem with your children experiencing same, or asking how or why 2 people of same sex can (or want to be)be married that is your business not mine.

---and Eddie it appears your boys will be in good hands if there is a draft;)

Dogs,

In the fifties, a black man kissing a white woman in public was treated in a similar fashion...Lots thought interracial relationships were unnatural and against "God's law"....and the kind of thing that should never be seen in public, or by children...We've come a long way...

the whole pedophilia thing is often brought up as a smokescreen by the religious "right"...Sex between an adult and a child is against the law and will always be....It's an abhorrent abuse of trust and power, and leads to long term scarring. This is whether it is heterosexual OR homosexual.

If two gay people, men or women want to have their relationship registered as a marriage with the State....I see no problem with this...The problem is the seething tide of hatred and intolerance that such a live and let live suggestion can bring to the surface...

Kickserve, drawing the line was the reference to polygamy and child molestation,,and then there's sodomy,,,which btw, in most states is still illegal, so there's your legal angle on that one. But, given time, this will be overturned, and who cares about this anyway. It's just one by one that immorality advances.

I just use this as a guide to common-sense,,would I like my daughters to come home from school with a same-sex partner? The answer is no, and if you are open to this also, then you are too "out there" for me to understand.
I'm comfortabe in my convictions and yet you, for some reason, have to reference "little johnson"??
I think I'm beginning to understand your situation,,and being a homosexual is okay,,but don't ask us to extend you benefits.
Just do your thing!! In private pease!!

yeah thats my basis for my whole argument...lmao

way to twist what i said....

i can give 100 reasons why gays should not marry...just like a dog and a cat shouldnt be allowed to marry....it is NOT natural....

love to hear Mr. Kickserv dis anything that has to do with Christianity whatsoever than tell everyone how he hates close minded people...such is hypocrisy if i have ever seen it....

and ozball....i don't see anything mentioned in the Bible about interracial dating -- whatever that is -- whatever the heck a race is if you want to get scientific about it -- deep down inside the genome everyone is of a different race.....so trying to use "religion" as an opponent of interracial dating 50 years ago is absolutely pathetic....people who were irreligious in fact were proponents of such a measure....

and hate? is wanting to preserve marriage between a man and a woman hate? seems to me that is a judgemental call and what do all you liberals always say about judging someone's heart? all the while making accusation after accusation and insinuation after insinuation....such judgement is not abhorrant to them?
