Tkj - well, we didn't get them yesterday, and won't get them today, either - I'm taking the day off after yesterday's 0-2. Sorry 'bout that.

Recap: 0-2, -$200
Record: 3-5, -$194

Houston gave up six runs in the first inning, and scored zero in nine, and the White Sox were just as bad, scoring a pitiful 2 runs in 18 innings of a double header. And for the first time this season I have a negative balance, so I'll be extra choosy before making my next selections.

Bad base running didn't help in the WS game.
Down 2-0, men on first and second, no outs, they get a double. Should be 2-1, men on second and third with no outs, but they tried to score the guy who was on first and he got thrown out at the plate. I don't know if the 3rd base coach sent him or if he blew past the hold sign, but it was an amateur mistake and they failed to score the rest of the game.
I think that's something like 4 of 6 losses where I bet against a team that scored just one or two runs and I couldn't get a win.

Updated records:
GP 8-8, +$100
BP 11-17, -$362

Today, GP has no plays, BP has KC +110, St L +112, Pit +140

After a bad day, it's usually a good idea to take a day off, so I'm glad there are no GP spots to have to consider.
Back tomorrow . . .

GP 8-8, +$100
BP 12-19, -$422

No buys yesterday.
Record: 3-5, -$194

Updated records:
GP 8-10, -$100
BP 12-21, -$622

If things continue like this it's going to be difficult season.
Both players are used are now in the negative and I don't have time or desire to do research and find other situational spots to use because I just don't like baseball enough to stay involved.

Today, GP has WS
BP has WS, Tex, Bos, KC

Matches are 5-4, +$172, and I have a match with the White Sox, but they screwed me earlier this week when they put up, what was it one run in 18 innings of a double header? And I seen the box scores from last night that they only scored one run again yesterday. I'm not using them, almost of a mind to fade them.

No buys today, I'm not digging this hole any deeper.
I probably won't make any buys until I see things either improve with the two plays I'm using or I get a chance to bet on a 5-W's-in-a-row RD spot.

No buys yesterday, no buys today.
Posted plays went 1-4.
If neither of the two plays I'm using improves this week I'm going to drop them. Can't use them as fades because of the money lines attached.

Updated:
GP -$200
BP -$810

Today:
GP has Tor +114, Oak +101
BP has Mil +150

Good luck with your MLB play today, I'll be watching USFL.

No buys yesterday.

Updated and corrected records:
GP: 9-12, -$199
BP: 15-27, -$850
Me: 3-5, -$194

If BP gets to -$1,000 I'm dropping it.

Today:
GP has nothing, again.
BP has St L +110, Sea +120

Hoping to get a play today, I dug deeper into my stats, checked the record of St L & Sea in BP spots, but they're both 1-1 so no help there for a play ON or AGAINST.

Two teams are in the 5-W's-in-a-row spot: Min -185, SF -169.
These are 1-0 at HM, 0-1 RD. SF is 0-1 in this spot this year and was just 2-5 in it last year.

I'm not laying that kind of juice with Min, and certainly not vs Pineda, who shut down the Yanks in his last last start.
I would consider fading SF as they're 2-6 last 8 games in this spot, but the A's just aren't scoring enough runs for me to take a chance with them, even at attractive dog odds.

Another day of waiting for a spot to jump on . . .

No buys yesterday.

Updated and corrected records:
GP: 9-12, -$199
BP: 16-28, -$840
Me: 3-5, -$194

SF loses again in the 5WR spot. They are now 2-7 last two years in this spot.
I stayed off because of Oakland's inability to score runs, and I was sort of correct - they only scored one run. But SF scored zero so one was enough.
Min won their game.
5R@HM now 1-1, even; *correction -$69; 5R@RD 0-1, -$100.

Today . . .
GP has Cle +145
BP has Wash +125, Tex +150, Cle +145
NYY are in 5-W's-in-a-row spot.

Have a match with Cle, I have these at 5-4, +100

Obviously too much juice to buy NY at -230 SU, but it doesn't take much incentive (or stats for that matter) to get me to bet against my Fav team, a potential winning wager any day of the week!

Buys:
NYY -1' -110

Recap: 1-0
Record: 4-5, -$94

After dropping into the red for the first time this season, I selectively waited 8 days before seeing a spot I liked enough to buy. Would have sucked if it lost after being that patient, but . . . the Orioles.

BP spots hit the -$1000 mark so I dropped them; less work for me each day.

GP: 9-13, -$299

With limited plays being tracked I won't be having a lot of buy recommendations this season.
I just don't like the sport enough to put more time into it and dig for more situational spots to bet.

Correction on 5W's@Hm spots. W's with LAD, Min, NYY for +$300; L with SF (-169 Fav), so it's 3-1, +$131
5W's@Rd is 0-1, lost with SF, -$100

No GP spots today, two 5W spots:
@Rd LAA, @Hm Mia

Unless they tank, I will play every 5W@Rd spot this season.
I have a discrepancy between my log book from last season and the updated chart I did this season.
Logbook says 5W@Rd were 7-19 last year, +$1021. Chart says 17-19 (I didn't chart dollar amounts, just a W-L record check.) I'm not sure which is correct but it's most likely the logbook has an error. Either way these were profitable so I'll use them again this season.

And, as they are off to a 3-0 start, I'll buy the @Hm spot too, see if the streak continues.

Buys:
Mia +100
LAA +114

Bigs, thanks for stopping by, and for letting me know someone else liked the numbers and bought in, too.
Days like yesterday are an easy call for me to make, when I have two Dogs and stats that tell me the odds are I'll go 1-1 worst case.
At dog odds that's a guarantee of at least some profit.

Recap: 2-0
Record: 6-5, + $120

Only one spot active today, GP has Sea +115 (9-13, -$299)

Nothing really good to choose from today so it's a day of USFL for me.
I'm out of the red, and back in black. My money management strategy in MLB is to work in weekly windows, with the goal being to always finish the week with a profit. Only one day left in the week, so unless there's something really strong tomorrow I'll bank the money from this week, close it out, and start again on Monday.

Good luck with your plays today...

No buys, no recap.
Only posted play was Seattle, GP spot, lost.

Record: 6-5, +$120

Today, GP has Oak +105 (9-14, -$399)
Oakland is 1-0 in this spot.

5WH has Milwaukee (4-1, +$231)
No way I'd lay -200 on any game, but Milwaukee is mighty tempting on the run line. But, like I said yesterday, I think I'll lock up my profit for the week and start again tomorrow.

No plays qualified yesterday.

Sunday, Mil lost in the 5WH spot. Taking the day off and locking up a profit for the week was the right move.
Consider working in weekly windows in MLB, start on Monday, end on Sunday, with the goal being to finish the week with a profit. If this means playing conservatively and shutting down on Sat or Sun then do it. It can help your 'capping and bankroll.

Records:
GP 9-15, -$499
My record: 6-5, +120

Two spots today, GP has Atl +102, Bos +110.

I'm going to make a rare foray (foray?) into buying a spot that is not part of one of the situational spots I track.

Buys:
St Louis -110

Recap: 0-1
Record: 6-6 +$20

GP: 10-16, -$494
No GP spots today.

The lesson from yesterday should be the familiar . . .
"DON'T MAKE BUYS ON GAMES THAT AREN'T FROM ONE OF YOUR SYSTEMS!!!"

The lesson will be ignored today as I buy not one but TWO games that are not from any of the situational spots I track.
Why?
I'm just in that kind of mood. Gotta open it up once in a while.

First up - NYY.
Why?
Because I'm tired of watching these F'ers win, so I'm jumping on their 11 game W streak to jinx them.
It's a win-win spot. If they win, I make bank, if they lose I take joy in seeing the F'ers lose, which is always a good day in my world.
(Plus, it's a match-up of southpaws and the Stanks are 7-1 vs lefties while Tor is 1-2 vs lefties, so I figure, "What the hell, it's a good spot, worth a try to profit off the a-hole, idiot, jerk-offs.")

Next - Minn.
Why?
Why would you ask why? The Orioles suck!

Buys:
NYY -141
Minn -135

Record: 6-8 -$256

I turned the game on just in time to see the Stanks, down 2-1 in the ninth, leave the bases loaded.
F'ing wankers.

No spots today.

Three days ago I had a profit. Then I bet three games that were NOT from one of the situational spots I track, and . . . I go 0-3.
AND I used Favs, which meant I didn't get my usual dog odds/+ $ so I had to pay extra juice.
At 6-8, -$256 I have some work to do, which means I'm back to being super selective when making buys.

GP spots are at 10-16, -$494, so no help there.
Today it has Cin +105, KC +108, TB +110.

Digging deeper, I see Cin is 0-1 in this spot.
And I just saw that Cin's record this season is 3-22.
3-22???!!!
And I thought I have it rough being an Oriole fan.

Obviously I can't use Cin.

The other two spots are at 0-0, first time in this spot this season, so no help there (though I'd like to buy KC, but I'm not going to give the O's a second chance to screw me this week.)

No buys, back tomorrow.

No buys, no recap.
Record: 6-8 -$256

GP spots: 11-16, -$384

GP today has Cin gm 1 +104, Bos +110, Cin gm 2 +105,
KC +105 (if it's Hernandez versus Lyles), Col +102

5WH has Houston -178 (4-2, -$9)
5WR has TB -133 (1-1, +$14)

I don't like their pitcher but I did commit to playing all 5WR spots this season so I'm buying Tampa Bay.

5WH spots are 4-2, -$9 because one of the two losses was a heavy hit of -240 on Milwaukee. These spots are 4-2 on the run line so I'm going to avoid the heavy juice and buy Houston using the run line.

Buys:
TB -133
Hou -1', +110

Recap: 1-1
Record: 7-9, -$256

Won $100 with TB, lost $100 with Houston as they won the game but by only one run and I had them on the run line, -1' +110.
No gain, no damage, broke even on the day.

GP spots went 2-2, +$6, record is now 13-18, -$378

Today:
GP has TB +107
5WR has Chi WS and LAD (2-1, +$114)

TB was good to me yesterday, I'll try them again today.
GP spot is underwater but none of those L's came from TB.

I know I said I'm going to play all 5WR spots this season, but I don't like the pitching matchup in Boston today. I try to avoid playing on lefties at Fenway Park, especially ones with an era of 9.00

And I'm not about to lay -200 on the Dodgers in the 5WR spot but seven of the Cubs last eight losses were by two runs or more so I'll use the run line today.

Buys:
TB +107
LAD - 1', -115

Recap: 1-1
Record: 8-10, -$256

Hit with LAD (+$100) missed with TB (-$100) where I was 2 outs away from the money when they gave up a game tying HR in the 9th and went on to lose in the 10th.

Had I stuck to my commitment to play ALL 5WRD spots I'd have banked two plays yesterday instead of just one, but I talked myself off of the White Sox at a very nice price of +155. I'm writing this as a reminder to just play the damn %'s and not pick and choose when to buy spots that have a profitable record in MLB.

GP: 13-19, -$478
5WHM: 5-2 +$91
5WRD: 4-1 +$369

Today, GP has one spot, Oak +105.
The A's are playing the Tigers and this might be a good spot to play as the Tigers are on a five game losing streak. Except for the fact that the A's are on a nine game losing streak.
I'll pass.

Passed on "9-losses-in-a-row" Oak in the GP spot and as expected they sucked, scoring just 2 runs.
But the Tigers sucked worse, scoring zero.

Record: 8-10, -$256

GP is now 14-19, -$373.
Is this spot going to get back in black this week?
Is it time to ride a few of them?
I'll take it game by game, team by team.

Three spots today: Oak (gm2) +125, Az +120, Sea +112
Oak is 2-2 in this spot, Sea is 0-1, Az is 0-0

Az is the most tempting to me, based on the pitching match up and W/L stats:
W/L overall (Mia is 13-16, Az is 16-14)
W/L in May (Mia 1-8, Az 6-2)
W/L current streak (Mia 2 L's/Az 2 W's)

Buys:
Az +120
