In The Valley of Elah - Tommy Lee Jones and Charlize Theron


Never saw it before.

At the 1:20 mark or so.....I was on the edge of my seat.

The end is not what you would expect, rather a revelation of something more heinous than you expected, but somehow you knew it all along.

This movie would be a 8.2 however the very last song was such a fuckin' church worship tragedy, it knocked it down to a 7.9

If you see this - I would be interested in knowing what your opinion is.

I don't know how I missed this movie. Now I have to find where to watch. :facepalm:

I wondered what other Tommy Lee Jones movies are out there that I haven't seen.....

Found this one......

I started watching it and turned it off at 14 minutes and 43 seconds in. Awful.

The only redeeming thing about it is the very beginning where Del Toro kills a faction leader stealth style. That part was good.

I watched the 2021 version of Nightmare Alley - I have not seen the 1947 version.

So.....you will not like this movie. Just stay away.

If anyone knows what Bioshock is then you will probably enjoy this movie.
If you like the time period in which this takes place, you will probably enjoy this movie.
The ride is fun, but slow and I enjoyed it only because of Bioshock and I love the Twilight Zone.
The very end of this movie feels very much like the end to an old school, black and white episode of Twilight Zone.

I suspect that Rod Serling love this story.

Watch We Own the Night instead.

Good movie and there is a HUGE amount of "suspension of disbelief" that you have to give this movie, but the part where Nick Nolte screams in the face of a guy and pushes him out of an airplane (with no parachute) is awesome!

Serpico is a better cop character movie than a basic cop movie.

LA Confidential has an incredible fiction character in it. Bud White pulling that fuckin' Santa off the roof to get that guys attention. Awesome!!!
