more lies and fabrications

3-4 years ago USC freshman started having higher SAT and GPA scores than both CAL and UCLA. Only University in CA to have higher scores than USC was Stanford. USC used to always be behind those 3 academically. Not anymore! :mj14:

Like it or not, USC doesn't bend the rules for football recruits. USC has not taken a partial qualifier since Junior Sea. USC has a higher min. standard than the NCAA. ND min. standard is slightly higher than USC's and they don't take JC's!

Continue looking silly and calling it lies and fabrications. Any UCLA/USC/SO CAL poster at this site who reads the local papers knows that USC freshman had higher SAT and GPA's. It was printed bunch of times and made public.

Once again, Scotty, you misuse numbers and distort facts.

SATs and GPAs are not the criteria used to evaluate academic reputation. They are one of many criteria used for admissions.

I am not from California, but I am involved in the academic world and I can tell you, when ANYONE (other than maybe you) thinks of the top Universities in California they come with a list that includes Cal Tech, Stanford, Cal, and maybe UCLA. USC does not get mentioned in that discussion.

If anyone turned down Cal Tech, Stanford, or Cal to go to USC they need to have their head examined.

Doesn't change the fact that the average USC freshman had higher SAT and GPA's than UCLA and CAL freshman. Only Stanford was higher than USC.

You stop the debate on this crap.

US News and World Reports rankings on academic levels of American Universities...

5. Stanford
20. Cal Berkley
25. UCLA
30. USC

Just another case of Scotty over-hyping & spinning for USC! Go Scott!

Thanks for the reasearch and proving my statement. I appreciate it. I said according to US News that USC was only behind UCLA by a few slots. Thanks!

Also, if I wear OSU stuff I won't be too worried about hearing any comments, if you know what I mean. What could they say? :)

Too funny, But the Lions fans may have a little to say. I hate going to ND games against the Big 10 schools because I'm wearing the same colors as the dorks, heffers and weinies while the hot chicks and people having fun are wearing the other schools colors (Michigan game excluded).

You just don't get the sense of community. I mean how many other schools have fans that didn't go to the school?

Notre Dame used to be special and different for all of the right reasons. Now the only reason that it's special is due to the fact that so many people hate them, they will always be must see TV. And as long as the Derek's of the world are what's coming out of that institution, I don't see that changing too much.

Go Irish!! Beat GaTech!!

While correct about USC just a few slot below UCLA in the rankings  , without re-reading didnt you say USC was ahead of Cal & Stanford academically?

USC is not in Stanford's league in academics. That is like saying USC is on par with Harvard, Yale, Cornell & MIT. :mj07:

All I can say is if you dont like the "Dereks" of the world, then ROUTE FOR ANOTHER TEAM!

You wanna ride our team and criticize its students and culture? WTF? Trust me, ND doesnt need you. Go to Michigan games instead.

You are probably one of those overweight, miserable 40 year olds that goes to the game w/o tickets and listens to it on the radio while sitting in the parking lot the whole time. All the while BITCHING AND COMPLAINING about the students and people who's money make it possible for you to be sitting on that lot!! :mj07:

What's your deal w/ 40 year olds? You better get over it, because fat, overweight, miserable 40 year olds are going to make you their b!tch for the first 5 years of your career.

And I'll route (sic) for any team I want.

And just a suggestion, if you're going to be outwitting people your whole life, then your point should be a little more clear.

You don't route for a team, you root for a team.

You can't say that what happens yesterday is already history and then point to national championships to validate your school when the last one was 16 years ago.

You can't have a conclusion that says "ND has ALWAYS been underachievers" and then point out three conditions where ND has shown that they overachieve.

Makes one wonder how valuable the education is that you received on Mommy and Daddy's dime. I've already seen the value of that education in the marketplace and my advice would be to work hard and hide the graduation ring. YOU are the problem with Notre Dame. :s4:

I CAN and I did. Deal with it.

Mommny and daddy's dime? Try full academic scholarship. THEIR dime, and YOUR dime with the money you probably blow on hot dogs and tshirts.
"THANKS!" fella! :s4:

The point, obviously WAY over your head, about the signature quotes is that WHO cares if ND lost its last 8 bowl games or has had however many bad seasons recently. Comparatively speaking its ALL HISTORY, and if history is to be mentioned, then you may as well talk national titles too. History from the 90s is no more relevant to new players and coaches than history from the 40s!! Tooo bad you are 40 and still need someone half your age to interpret PLAIN ENGLISH FOR YOU!!

The point about them underachieving was quoted FROM A DIFFERENT THREAD! SEE: sportsteams and their fans for an update, and you can read the whole thing in its entirety.

I dont have a problem with 40 year olds in general. Just the scum that go to my alma mater's campus, use its facilities, wear its gear, claim to be fans/affiliated, then BITCH and WHINE about the folks that make that place click. It would be like you having me over for dinner and then I send you an email telling you that your wife, or husband, who knows, cant cook and I had a lousy time!! DONT BOTHER! If you have a problem with ND students, DONT GO TO ND!! If it hurts when you move your elbow, dont move your elbow!! Jesus, its THAT SIMPLE!

I used to think that you were stupid, but now I think that you're just messing with me because no one's that dumb.

You say Notre Dame = Underacheivers and that makes you proud. :142smilie

And your analogy . . . ughh

I would honestly expect a freeloader to have a little more humility. The Good Fathers must be sooo proud.

Anybody who wonders why a lot of people detest lawyers and Notre Dame need only to check Derek out. He's the perfect storm.

When did i call ND underachievers? I would expect a LIAR to be more convincing

My analogy is PERFECT. ND has you as a GUEST on their campus, their PROPERTY, and you say how you DESPISE the people and the school? Then you say you hate the "typical" people there? Theres certain types of people I dont like, yourself included. What do I do? I dont go near them.

a freeloader? I didnt work hard to get that scholarship? Just because you shovel crap all day doesnt mean some people cant work hard in other areas. You're the goddamn freeloader coming to our campus and then complaining about it. Do ND a favor, stay FAR away!

Nobody wonders and NOBODY cares. Thats why its the same old hillbillies I'm always debating with. Trust me, there are sophisticated people in the world who are too mature to even READ this nonsense going back and forth. YOU not only READ it, you PARTICIPATE.

IF YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOO GREAT, why are you goin back and forth with a kid who is bored in class? Get a LIFE!

Here it is! I highlighted the word underachievers since you seem to be a little slow on the uptake. Not that you'd ever admit that you're wrong.
http://madjacksports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=221648&highlight=Underachievers

Actually a better analogy would be that I was invited to O.J's house (pre-double homicide, of course), enjoyed the meal, enjoyed his beautiful home, loved reminiscing about his heisman trophies and then the whole evening was ruined because Kato can't handle his beer and he's lacking in any social skills because he never worked a day in his life. I then go home and tell O.J's friends that I think Kato's a sponge.

And surfing madjack's during class? I know law school's easy with 90+% of all students getting a degree, but you should take it "a little" more seriously.

I only see ND on the road now. Less Kato's, more O.J's (Again, pre-double homicide, of course)

LMAO this is perhaps the best laugh i have had in a few months

I can't wait til the next USC/Notre Dame game just to see DEREKND, JD and SCOTTUSC go at it.

I will pay admission to see that.

Two of the biggest TOOLS that I have come across.
