Reuniting of sorts as recently traded swingmen Kyle Korver and Gordon Giricek play their former teams for the first time. Each player performed well in their initial stint for their new team so there?s reason to believe they may provide additional offensive spark on a nightly basis. Utah enters this contest on an offensive hot streak shooting 50% or better in three of their last four even registering 98 points against the stifling Celtics defense. Expect the precision execution of the NBA?s #2 FG% shooting team to carve up the Sixers defense which has benefited from playing either injury plagued or bad offenses three times in their last four games. Subtracting those three games (Seattle without Durrant & Wilcox / Sacramento without Artest / Miami without PG Williams and C O?Neal for most of the second half because of an injured hip), Philly has yielded 100.5 ppg over the last two weeks. Offensively, they?ve played better recently and they may get SG Willie Green back tonight. With the Sixers scoring 96 points or more in 11 of their last 14 contests and Utah allowing 46.3% shooting (25th in the league) and 100.5 ppg, the offensive outlook for HC Cheeks crew looks bright tonight. Earlier meeting in Philadelphia on November 28th saw 201 points scored in a game where the total went over the 195.5. Number stays virtually the same here at 196 and it seems to provide a lot of value toward the over.

There's just NO WAY the Bucks can shake off a beating of that magnitude and stay close to Miami with just 3 lousy points. Dwyane (honestly, have you ever seen 'Dwayne' spelled that way before?) Wade is playing lights out for the hosts and should lead the Heat to an easy win even if Shaq-Daddy continues to be a non-factor. These two teams have gone under in 17 of their last 20 games overall and this total has no business being in the 190s. Washington has been playing much better defense and the days of offensive shootouts seem to be gone, at least for now. The Wizards have not allowed an opponent over 100 since early December on their home court. It?s not hard to remember a day when EVERY opponent reached the century mark in Washington. The Pistons have the NBA?s No. 2 defense in both points scored and field goal percentage and they have been playing their best ball of the season in that regard as of late. Four of the last five meetings between these clubs have gone under the posted number.

Five out of the last seven meetings between these clubs have gone under the posted number and we see another low scoring affair tonight as Boston has the league?s best defense and the Rockets are right up there among the top teams as well. The Celts are No. 1 defensively in PPG, FG% and 3-Pt. %. Houston is No. 6 in PPG defensively and No. 3 in defensive field goal %. Boston is playing ridiculous defense at home this season and allow just 82 PPG here. Nine out of the last 13 games here have gone under the total. We expect this to be another solid defensive effort by both and this one will wind up in the low-to-mid 170s.
