VEGAS EXPERTS TIP OF THE DAY

Wake Forest Demon Deacons at North Carolina State Wolfpack
Sunday, February 3rd, 12:00 PM ET

TIP Courtesy of Vegas Expert Scott Spreitzer: I'm playing Wake Forest, plus points over NC State. The Wolfpack are coming off a tough loss. They led Duke by nine points at the half, and were within 57-55 with 14-minutes to go in the game. Defense let the Pack down again and the Blue Devils took advantage, finishing the game with a 35-17 run. NC State came into ACC play with a 11-3 record, holding opponents to 61.3 PPG. But they're just 2-4 in their first six conference matchups, giving up 79.2 PPG! The Demon Deacons own the talent to take advantage and grab a road win. Wake Forest came into the season extremely young without a single senior on the roster. They're led by sophomore guard Ishmael Smith who led the ACC in assists as a freshman and dishes out 4.6 per game this campaign. Freshman James Johnson and highly heralded recruit Jeff Teague are heating up. The two lead the team in scoring. In fact, Teague just pumped in 27 against Miami. I expect another big game on Sunday. NC State hoped their creative shotmakers would carry the team this season, but the breakdowns on the defense end have dampened preseason enthusiasm. Finally, Wake is a decent 4-2 ATS as a pup this season, while NC State is a bankroll-busting 2-8 ATS when laying points. Look for Wake Forest to pull the upset. My ACC Shocker is a play on the Demon Deacons, plus points.

Play on: Wake Forest

Los Angeles Lakers at Washington Wizards
Sunday, February 3rd, 12:05 PM ET

When the number is finally posted figure to be on the Washington side here. Club is off a home loss to Utah and a road loss to Toronto so will want to end that skid here. If Pau Gasol does not play for the Lakers so much the better for the Wizards. If he does the line will reflect that and it will take the Lakers a while to adjust to playing with him.

Play on: Washington

Not quite sure how "Mighty" Quinn finds his way into this thread, and others like it everyday. Seriously,he is not a service, or anything close to it. He is a clown who has a a daily spot in the NY Daily News about 1/40th the size of a page. What the hell is a sirignano anyway?? Unless people just strictly are looking to fade him, don't put any stock into what his plays are. Just trying to advise the less informed, from the non-NY area.

OVERALL ANALYSIS

The Giants proved on Dec. 29 that they have the ability to make this a game, and it is difficult to envision a team that is playing with as much confidence and purpose as is New York to get run off the field in this one. Still, it's even more difficult to visualize the Patriots dejectedly walking off the pitch at University of Phoenix stadium as Coughlin and Manning share smiles and hugs on the awards stage. New England has found a way on 18 consecutive occasions, and will find a way yet again.

INDIANA-18 "Look for a blowout after two back to back losses for the Hoosiers. Gordon had a very bad game against Wisconsin so look for Gordon and DJ White to dominate. Indiana avg. 82 ppg at home and shoots 50% from the field and 40% from 3 point range. NW shoots about 40% away from home. Indiana should get up early and put NW in a catch up situation which they are not good at. HOOSIERS by 20+
