I think Gary makes the most sound when speaking of being adaptive. Sponsorship is the backbone for paying for hosting, IE, the SLA, etc.

As far as paying membership, I'm not certain that will be a viable return too be honest.

Jack answered my question and I believe it is the correct answer with the current actions being carried out. A face lift may cost more than someone is willing to pay with the return being subjected to chance at this point.

I would hope we can continue this conversation as a community council going forward.

I'm very impressed with the input and glad to see many of you speak sincerely and with thought.

I spend a lot of time here for the personalities and friendships however, in the end it's a business and that is where I voiced concern.

I hope MJs continues until I'm in my late years.

I have often wondered why there is no sponserships from casinos in biloxi, tunica, atlantic city and such since it seems most are from the eastern half of the US. I know how unpopular of an idea it is, but how much money is in selling e-mail addys of members? I would also agree that a couple of the other forums seem to get enough traffic that somebody should be interested in sponsership. How about selling mechandise other than madjacks gear? How about a swap and sell forum with an annual fee or some other form of fees. There are many things that could be done, but what "fits" is the question.

It is getting tougher to fund an account and I don't care what anyone says, the payouts are becoming difficult as well. They can take your money in seconds and then take weeks to pay you.

I am done with western union as that has become more of a fiasco than it is worth sometimes. Incorrect names given by the book. The bitch doesn't have I.D. etc.... Include the code word "Red Panties" on the send form. Make several calls to sportsbook and western union to change shit. Of course western union is asking 1,000,000 questions as well. 5 hours later the game is over, I burned up 30 dollars in gas and now I am pissed. Still my account has not been credited with my deposit I sent to some shemale in a foriegn land.

I used to be able to fund with my American Express card until last week. Now that is gone.

I have seen all the B.S. with it as well. Request a withdraw and your money sits in the account for days before they process it. I guess it takes auditors in 12 different time zones to do this. Of course they are hoping you lose that money before they do the final payout process.

I could go on and on. With all that is going on and being said in the end it could benefit players if it was to become legalized to gamble online in the states. I will gaurantee you that when you request a payout you will have it in your bank within 48 - 72 hours. Competition and demand will make sure that happens. This could become a positive thing in the end. Now making it happen will be something that will not be so easy.

If the govt. has a way to cash in they will make it happen one day I am sure. Just to prove how greedy these fuckers are now, they are allowing lottery scratch off tickets to be purchased with credit cards now in some states. WTF. I guess someone maxing out the credit cards to win $$$ is more ethical than someone gambling or playing poker online.

Hopefully one day we will see a highly ran industry that is monitored and is there to protect us from the so called lets close up shop and take everyones cash business that seems to have run amuck in the industry. Then we will open a new sportsbook and see if we can do it again.

Don't think it's happening then you need to look again. I have had 3 consistent books for the last 10years. I used to get 5 - 10 phone calls a month offering me promos and bonuses etc. I talked at least 2 - 3 times a month to my account manager.The last 60 days I recieved 0 calls. Why? Because I am a U.S. player.

As far as madjacks future I would say it will depend on what happens in the near future with the industry. I don't see this place surviving with the political forum being the saving grace.

I am sure everyone has many different views on this. Hopefully something good will happen soon, but I am to believe that nearly all will be unable to process US customers in the future. We shall see.

Is gambling sponsorship the only advertising worth looking into? I should think not. Lots of things start off down one path and end up down another. Options need to be open wide here.

This is something I will be looking into but I'm not that optimistic about it after having tried other advertising before.

I used to have a sports fan site that sold licensed products, like hats and shirts and whatnot. I did that to maybe make some extra bucks because a lot of guys have their personal hat bets from time to time. After an entire football season I made less than $20 commission which was not enough for them to even bother sending a check. :142smilie

Google ads? Yahoo ads? Nope, we're a gambling site, they won't approve us. Neweracaps.com the fuckin' caps site said no too

There is one area that I never tapped and I'm going to this year and there is a lot of interest too, by the way. I'll be taking on the dreaded sports touts as sponsors. I've been turning their business down since this site opened. Literally thousands and thousands of times I said no. Not any more.

I'll be taking on the pay per head shops too because the local books will need their services in the near future as more and more locals hit the scene.

The site will survive but I am going back to work :sadwave:
