Falcons fans can find a silver lining in Michael Vick's off season glitches: Matt Schaub.

He has been waiting in the wings for years, and with his traditional, non dog killing, quarterback style is poised to lead the Falcons into the playoffs. Theme of the year for Atlanta: Return To Normalcy.

 ... Listen... make fun of my grammar as much as you want, but the farther ahead I get in first place, the more I will have to strain to hear your jibes.

OK then. I picked the Falcons too. It's just that I think Schaub will be a little too busy in Houston to help the Falcons very much. ....,On the bright side, Harrington isn't a dog killer either ....that we know of.

I can throw pictures out there too.

Next thing ya know, you will start saying "dudes right-handed" Facts can be used to prove anything.

Let's just agree to disagree?

It does get confusing. Whoever the QB is, we both want Atlanta to cover. I don't think it matters which Matt Schaub they use, he will be better than Minny's QB.

As for the Eagles - I hope Randall Cunningham tears his ACL. ....And the Niners?? Ha, no way can Steve Young get it done the way Montana could.

1-2 isn't so bad.

Ok I've plugged my numbers into the computer... and the picks are ready.

1) PHI -3

Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens will finally bury the hatchet. I wouldn't be surprised to see them connect 10+ times. That will be the difference in this game.

2) ATL +3

3) SF -3

Last, but certainly not least. The San Francisco 49ers will get down and dirty in the trenches...again showing why the City By The Bay is known as a place for real men.

All of my picks are equally strong, so choosing a 2 point play was impossible.

GL All.

Good, sound reasoning and strong picks. Nicely done.

slapdoggydog

Since it's the first shaky week, woodson and slapdoggy have until Sunday's 1st kickoff to post picks. If they fail to do so in time, they can take a score of -3 for the week or I suppose walk away from the contest. Everyone else can make changes to their selections up until Sunday as well.

No new entries allowed at this point. This is the field - bookmakers shall establish futures and props for this event accordingly.

And of course props to B2B for bursting out to a quick 2 point lead over the field ....and 3 points over Happy Hippo, who managed to find last place after 1 game. Who would have thought Indy would hit 40+ without the total going over?

Yeah the Saints suck, can't score a freaking point in the second half, and can't even score an offensive TD for the game, what can I say. I actually pushed my "real" bet cause I got it at 51, but for purposes of this contest, I am a loser. But that's pretty much what is expected!

I'm sure since the Pitt total moved to 37 and I "have it" at 36.5 (in this contest at least) they will score 37.

I love capping football :142smilie

Blah blah blah. OK, Mrs. Arrow.

Seriously though - the Colts have given up 1 offensive TD over the last 8 quarters ....against the 2 best teams in the NFC. That's sayin sumpin. about their "soft" defense.....and about the NFC too.

No woodson, no slapdoggy. Booty down to $200. ...Unless of course they would like to stay in and take a -3 for the week.
