If a kid dies, who got the vaccine, that's 100% connection though.

The FDA has authorized the vaccine for emergency use. Their not on the sideline with their hands up saying "Buyer Beware".

During a panel discussion later Thursday, Dr. Cody Meissner, a member of the FDA?s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee, said he was ?worried? about the heart issue reported in young vaccine recipients. He questioned whether there will be scarring of the muscular tissue or arrhythmia as a result of the condition.

?I think that?s unlikely but we don?t know that,? said Meissner, also a professor of pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine. ?So, before we start vaccinating millions of adolescents and children, it?s so important to find out what the consequences are.?

It?s a gamble?a huge gamble actually because we (my wife and I) are dealing with our own kids in regards to the vaccine.

I sent my 11-year old daughter off to a 5-day camp yesterday morning with her church group. This particular Kids Camp is for kids 3rd-6th grades. Obviously, the bulk of these kids are not vaccinated. Am I worried? I wish I can say with certainty that my child will come home as healthy as the day she left for this trip. I truly believe the risks of contracting the Corona Virus is quite low now, even with only a 40% vaccination rate in our area. My hope is that if my daughter contracts the virus, she can fully recover with no long-term effects. It is a risk and a gamble, but I am willing to take the chance to provide my kid a full experience in life.

Vaccines are readily available and can easily be accessed in our area for everyone 12 years of age and older, but we are still holding out for my 14-year old daughter. I am still looking at statistics on this age group, but I might cave in soon due to the recent uptick in the Covid-19 Delta variant.

I feel you totally. Something that stands out is that you sound like a parent, while the two forum know-it-all?s don?t

There isn't a vaccine, or any medicine out there, that someone hasn't died from. There will always be that %.

Peanuts hurt a segment of us, for Christ's sake.

Parents will let their kids honk on a vape pen, but fuck you for suggesting I vaccinate them!

You sound like you don?t have kids. Are they grown or did you never have any? Btw, I don?t know a single parent who allows their kid to Vape.

Exactly, for emergency use. Currently there is no emergency for people under 50. And especially not for people under 17.

This situation is simply not something you understand because you don?t have kids, or at least you act like you don?t have kids.

She will almost certainly be fine. She would also most certainly be fine if she were vaccinated.

I wonder how many of you guys let your sons play football?

I let mine play whatever sport they choose, but under no circumstance will I allow them to be injected with vaccine only approved for emergency use when the chances of serious illness for under 50 is minimal and for under 17 statistically zero. At this time, this is a non emergency for them. I vaxxed only to do my part for herd immunity and for quality of life including being allowed to travel and to attend concerts, festivals and sporting events.

@cdcgov
just posted its myocarditis/pericarditis update. They are now admitting that post-second dose risk in people under 25 could be over 200x the background rate (and that?s not accounting for underreporting).

But the real news is even worse...
Here?s stratification by year of patient. As you can see, the post-second dose cases double from age 25 to 21, then double again in the 16-18 range.

In before several people who don?t have kids downplay this science since it doesn?t jive with their agenda.

It doesn't seem like your children's well being is truly on the forefront, then.

If you don't want your if children vaccinated for safety reasons, ok. But, when you will allow your child to participate in a sport that is 250xs more likely to cause harm, it seems disingenuous.

Even the CDC, Fauci and WHO are having to walk back all their bullshit because it is becoming so obvious they are making this stuff up as they go.

Thankfully, what something seems to you is of no importance to me.

Risk/reward. Kids want to play football, go get ?em. Playing youth football can help a kid develop toughness, sense of team, discipline. Chances of major injury threatening quality of life is minimal. But, for kids to be vaccinated for an illness that statistically has 0% chance of causing harm to them is putting them in harm?s way with no personal reward.
